Mystery boxes are back. But with that is this announcement: To get ahead of the inevitable DOOM thread, I'll mention as a Seattle local that the neighborhood PP is located in is being redeveloped hard. A new light rail line is under construction, and Bellevue is working hard to change the area of light industrial, warehouses and auto repair shops into high end mixed use condos. So it's no surprise PP's landlord isn't renewing their lease to tear down the building, or jacking up prices in the expectation of becoming an event space or brewpub. Here are some shiny marketing materials if you don't believe me: www.thespringdistrict.com/ Spring District is the new, gentrified name for the area.

This was theorized on often in the doom threads that sprung from PP clearing their other stock through mystery boxes. It's nice to see that this was indeed the reason, though the doomers will still find something to complain about probably.
I still won't be getting any as I have no interest in branching out into other factions and don't really need random models, even at a clearance.

On a scale of 1 to ultimate doom, "we're moving offices" is kind of weak sauce. The "where are the printed books" thread has more potential for doom than this, and no-one's even bothered.
I call doom on your doom thread!

I mean this potentially explains a lot of pp's recent happenings like personnel leaving (because they can't make the move) and the big sales (to clear their warehouse). It wont stop the doom train though as they have already made up their minds about the state of pp and the game.
As for the mystery boxes I'd only be interested in them if Skorne or minions are in and there are enough locals buying it that I could easily trade for one or both boxes if I needed too.

Wow, it’s almost like those of us who have actually been to Seattle more than once and/or genuinely paid attention happen to know what we’re talking about, and the random basement-dwelling Internet whiners’ prognostications were not rooted in reality!

cascadiankovnik makes a really good point with this. With the redevelopment and tax hikes going on in Seattle and the urban West Coast - Pacific NW in general it is best for most businesses to just buy out a cheap unused warehouse outside of town. You can see more and more small news sites and indie developers moving towards the middle of the country rather than the New England and West Coast. When your 80k year is more like you are living on 30k a year anywhere else in the country it is time to pick up stakes.

The biggest change for my friend's family business was when the business moved out of the landlord overcharging you bit and were able to buy some land to put the business on. It was just a huge cost saver. I am hoping the new CEO focuses more on international distribution after the move. PP always had a bigger presence in Latin America than GW and equal footing in Asia with GW products. If they can place solid distribution in those markets and the scene in Europe and Australia they can really grow the brand."

but but If I don't have a doom train how will I survive?
In all honesty though I am going to go order my box right now, mostly b/c I want the other stuff more than the minis.

but but If I don't have a doom train how will I survive? You're doomed.
You'll need to board the doom train. Except there isn't one. So confusing.

Anyone still looking to trade? I have Trollbloods. I'd like Khador or Circle, but at this point I would probably just sell it at near cost.

Regarding “Doom train”: In this case, calling it a doom train is quite apt! The SeaTac -> Bellevue light rail project is basically going straight through PP’s parking lot! The building in the lot ~50 feet away from theirs was purchased via eminent domain and is about to be torn down. Construction on this project itself is supposed to last for another three years! So just imagine three years of operating your business with random power outages, jackhammers, road closures, and heavy construction vehicle traffic right outside your door.MYSTERY SOLVED. CASE CLOSED. You’re welcome.

Look, your facts and logic have no place in this discussion. Just let the Doomtrain roll along the tracks that the internet is laying down.
"But, but, the reality is..."
Blah blah blah...
