Gravediggers is the most utilitarian of Cygnar's themes. It also struggles into ARM skews, so if you're used to facing that sort of opponent, just beware. I'd say start that theme with Siege2 because he makes it pretty straightforward to play compared to Haley3's shenanigans and plays well with all of the trencher units. It also has Maxwell Finn, who is basically the manliest man to even man in the Iron Kingdoms. As the only Cygnar theme through CID, it at least has a good range of tools for any situation.
Heavy Metal is a reliable, if uninspiring, theme given that it's all about the Warjacks (and battle engines). The fun option is to lean on Kraye who basically makes every Warjack amazing (He can get a spd4 centurion up the field the same distance as a running light warjack). He's still pretty strong, but doesn't always have the capacity for a damage buff. If you're magnetising warjacks, you'll probably get some overlap with any heavies you take in Gravediggers and possibly some Hunters too. Whatever warjacks you collect for heavy metal will almost always be useful when you expand in future.

I'm really enjoying Siege2 Gravediggers. A bit complicated to play at first, but Siege2 is much easier to use than Haley3. It's a great scenario list, ans Siege2 supports it all. Plus, he can be a melee beast himself when needed. I'm also loving my Siege1 Heavy Metal with double battle engines. They are really good!

I'm basically in the same boat right now, especially when we play 50pts around here. FFE and Siege backed up by the battle engines is brutal.
