I don't get why you guys play him in SotN; What does he do for bears, champs etc.?

Bears ambush. They can ambush into positions to help the feat to be effective or into targets that have been mortality and they still hit like trucks, even slightly larger trucks then. I've ambushed, gotten my attacks off to what they can and then had the thing a bit away from them be affected by the feat which lets the raiders (or whatever) get that mark the target bonus deeper than it could have been otherwise. or mortalities deeper, get the ambush and maybe you can space better because gang isnt as relavent or you go after something they have no right too otherwise. They're a tool.
And what else would you play him in Pod or KC? Both are hard "no thanks to both" for me, and my other list is already BoH, so he slots into SotN for me.

Both units? But yeah I get that, I have played with them (and the rest of SotN) a lot myself so I know the deal - just not why Grim is the man behind. Stone gives them +2 damage as well, so does Grissel1, Madrak2, Horgle2 etc. Just merely wondering Fair points about your pairing and Mortality just IS necessary into Tharn so I understand.

Its desperation man. Same reason I have no Stone. Would i like one, sure. But the bloat is real in Trolls. And i do swap out the champs for riders as well, i think i like that better actually. (shift key doesn't work, so all small i's) it's definitely still "in progress" and maybe doesn't even hold up, but i need more games before I make that call.

After reading all these posts and talking to another trollblood player in my neighbourhood, I am going to drop Trollbloods Army - 75 / 75 points [Theme] Kriel Company Hunters Grim - 2x Dire Troll Blitzer - Trollkin Runebearer (free) Braylen Wanderheart, Trollkin Outlaw (free) Dahlia Hallyr & Skarath Trollkin Highwaymen 2x Trollkin Sluggers War Wagon It will probably be into Grayle's Devourers with pretty much the standard outlook. Case is its my first time ever to drop the hunter and my opponent is pretty experienced with Circle by now so its probably going down the drain but if I can stand my ground then I will be pretty happy. Issue for me is my second list is Chris Dancocks Bearka list which I believe cover a wide part of the meta. Immortals will be an issue in general but lets see how this Hunters Grim list work out against Tharns _________________ Opponent cancelled _________________

My get feelings would be Grissel1, Madrak1, Calandra in either BoH or SoTN for high armour and durable troops. I have had quite a bit of success with Doomy1 into Iona DH and would encourage you all to do the same. Iona has 3 upkeeps that she really needs out on the table. Doomy has a 14-16 inch Disillusion spell depending on whether your taking a runebearer or not. I have found that spell combined with Doomy1 Feat to really hamper her ability to ramp her army up to 11. Thoughts? Doomy1 is definitely casters we should test and play more. He was player on MK2 a lot because good theme, but as PoD that marks that theme is nothing like the old one people have trashed him. He has really good spell list and while Dissolution is not purification, it's still good. Stranglehold is one of the best missiles on whole game and Rampager is situational and expensive but game-braking spell. RÖK+goad sound tempating, but BoH would be better theme against Tharns. Trollbloods Army - 75 / 75 points [Theme] Storm of the North [Doomshaper 1] Hoarluk Doomshaper, Shaman of the Gnarls [+29] - Mulg the Ancient [22] - Rök [19] - Trollkin Runebearer [0(5)] Fell Caller Hero [0(5)] Feralgeist [2] Valka Curseborn, Chieftain of the North [0(6)] Krielstone Bearer & Stone Scribes (max) [9] - Northkin Elder [3] Northkin Bear Handlers & Battle Bears [10] Northkin Bear Handlers & Battle Bears [10] Northkin Fire Eaters [7] Northkin Fire Eaters [7] Northkin Raiders (max) [15] I went with this War Room Army Trollblood - doomy1 SOTN Theme: Storm of the North 3 / 3 Free Cards 75 / 75 Army Hoarluk Doomshaper, Shaman of the Gnarls - WB: +29 - Trollkin Runebearer - PC: 0 - Mulg the Ancient - PC: 22 (Battlegroup Points Used: 22) - Rök - PC: 19 (Battlegroup Points Used: 7) Fell Caller Hero - PC: 0 Valka Curseborn, Chieftain of the North - PC: 0 Krielstone Bearer & Stone Scribes - Leader & 5 Grunts: 9 - Northkin Elder - PC: 3 Northkin Bear Handler & Battle Bears - Bear Handler & 2 Battle Bears: 10 Northkin Bear Handler & Battle Bears - Bear Handler & 2 Battle Bears: 10 Northkin Raiders - Leader & 9 Grunts: 15 Trollkin Champions - Leader & 4 Grunts: 16 THEME: Storm of the North --- GENERATED : 05/17/2019 07:42:48 BUILD ID : 2071.19-02-05

One of the things I like about grim2 in combination with SoTn is that the stone unit is ps 14 on a given unit affected by mortality. That way they can actually contribute late game.
