Idrians aren't old faith though if I'm not mistaken.. Then again, most of the stuff coming from protectorate (actually everything bar Order of the Wall) aren't, so the boundaries are a bit wish-washy anyway.

Update! We got Paladins! Firetruck yea! That new Mini Crate can't come fast enough Warriors of the Old Faith Add Paladin warcasters to Army Composition. Add Paladin models/units to Army Composition.
Change the first Special Rule to the following: All models in this army are considered to be Khadoran and Protectorate models.
An additional Warcaster (it's Durst) and unit selection for this theme. Okay, let me make this as clear as possible. The change to make all the models in the theme both Khadoran and Protectorate means that, regardless of whether you are playing Khador or Protectorate as your Faction, you have access to all the casters in theme. That means if you are playing, for example, in a Steamroller, and you are a Khador player, your first list could be Winter Guard Kommand, and your second list could be Warriors of the Old Faith led by, say, Kreoss3, or Reznik2, etc.

That also means Hand of Silence is not unplayable in Khador anymore. Good times!

SADLY MY best jank I THINK doesn't work.
Pretty sure that I can't put initiates under windwall and shield guard off attacks and have them automiss. I think the key there is that Windwall mentions "target" but does anyone know for sure.
(Cause if so that is the best "Nope" in the game ;-)

Shield Guard never uses the word target, just that the model with Shield Guard is directly hit instead. The way I read it, it would not target the Initiates so they would still be hit.

Oddly enough, Durst has been my answer to "what caster would you most like to steal from another faction?" basically since his release ... so I'd say I am pretty darn happy right about now... so long as this sticks.

BC on Our jacks under battle feels...well....good and lamentation is a strong spell. Initiates provide dirt cheap shield guards and Uhlans will be great with Vengenance and BC and his feat.

All of the Menoth casters could work. This theme just got awesome. As for Reznik 2, he looks phenomenal with a WGCG. Serious any infantry tech. Durnst allows a completely different strategy, and Vilmont and the Paladin of the Order of the Wall are now free options.
Vilmont grants to Paladins, and has Rightous Vengeance, and stone stance which gets his armor up to 21. Cost 6, MAT 9, POW 14 weaponmaster. Shield Guard. Free ARM 21 shield guard? Yes please.
Paladins of the Order of the wall will have righteous vengeance, and ARM 16 or 21. POW 13 weaponmasters. Free. Good alternative.
Initiates of the Wall. Rightous Vengeance because of Vilmont. Shield Guard. 3 dudes 7 points. ARM 15-18-21 and super zone holders. Like MOW ST good, only with Shield Guard and 3 fewer boxes.
Seems like good stuff.

Vengeance is weak on uhlans given they will hit with pwr 10 (well, 12 -- I'm guessing they can use their horse to do vengeance). Vengers prefer it. Its in their name!

It is about anti-shooting deterrence. Uhlans that can get Spellpiercer that threaten 3 (veg)+8+3+2=16 BEFORE boundless charge are a "thing". And B2B arm boost helps with survivability.
