Hello everyone.
I've decided to start a collection of convergence and I'm struggling a bit to get "out of the gate" with them in terms of list building. My group has just moved up from 35 & 50 point games to the 75 dual list format. I've been playing cygnar and will be playing them in the immediate future before I can complete a list of CoC. I've been playing a siege2 in GD, kraye in HM and stryker2 in SD.
Anyway, I'd like some advice on which casters to start to build around as a relatively new player to CoC. The gaming group is composed of khador, skorne, cryx, circle and cygnar, and I'd like to add CoC to the mix.
So, does anyone have any obvious suggestions on where to start. I was thinking the following lists (a Locke DI list and a lucant CL list), but honestly they are just pulled out of nowhere in particular:
Convergence of Cyriss - Locke 75 DI
Theme: Destruction Initiative
Aurum Lucanum Athanor Locke - WJ: +29
- Assimilator - PC: 16 (Battlegroup Points Used: 16)
- Cipher - PC: 16 (Battlegroup Points Used: 13)
- Conservator - PC: 12
- Corollary - PC: 6
- Diffuser - PC: 6
- Galvanizer - PC: 5

- Inverter - PC: 15

Algorithmic Dispersion Optifex - PC: 2

Elimination Servitors - 3 Elimination Servitors: 0
Elimination Servitors - 3 Elimination Servitors: 0
Reflex Servitors - 3 Reflex Servitors: 0
Elimination Servitors - 3 Elimination Servitors: 0
Optifex Directive - Leader & 2 Grunts: 4
From what i can tell, Locke generically plays with either a lot of heavies, or fewer heavies and a collossal. Are there any types of lists either one plays into better than the other?
Convergence of Cyriss - Lucant 75 CL 2
Theme: Clockwork Legions
Father Lucant, The Divinity Architect - WJ: +28
- Inverter - PC: 15 (Battlegroup Points Used: 15)
- Galvanizer - PC: 5 (Battlegroup Points Used: 5)

- Corollary - PC: 6 (Battlegroup Points Used: 3)

Obstructors - Leader & 9 Grunts: 11
Obstructors - Leader & 9 Grunts: 11
Reductors - Leader & 9 Grunts: 13
Eradicators - Leader & 4 Grunts: 15
I basically just pulled the lists out of nowhere. I am not attached to them and I am willing to use any models and am just starting to flush out my collection. Can anyone help me in initial list building? Are there two lists that are meta dominant? Or are there two lists or casters I should be looking at as a starting point to really learn the faction?
