Hey everybody, I purchased all the books from MK1 and MK2 to read the fluff. I started with the WM books and reached Wrath. Now I asked myself if it is better to read the books of Warmachine and hordes intermixed (in the timeline they were published) or to read all the Warmachine ones at once and after that the hordes site separate. I think it comes down to if the story line of the Llaelese war and the athanc story I read in the Warmachine books is also continued in the hordes books or if they have a separate story.
Thanks in advance for any help!

Athanc/Legion for sure. I don't remember any Llael though. Been a long time though.

It's a separate story for hordes, but in runs roughly in parallel and there is some crossover between characters. So probably best to read it in order of publication.

Thanks for your answers!
If they are not too interlocked I think I will continue with the warmachine books first because I am a really slow reader.

Half priced Books, if you have that store, usually has the old rulebooks cheap. Although they're generally heap anywhere you find them these days.

All of the MK II Faction books (“Forces of X”) are available digitally from the PP web store for $5 each. I think (but haven’t checked) that the annual books (Wrath, Colossals, Reckoning, etc.) are the same.
(Five dollars is worth it for the painting guides alone!)
