Yes, I know, Steelhead CID has come and gone, but this idea came up while I was driving for a quick stop off at my LGS.
So, what if PP was going to release a Steelhead Character unit that was a 3 model odd jobs squad, what would you put in to it?
Personally, I was thinking a sniper, a scout, and the officer. The hard part is how to organize the back story of the 3.
The Sniper could come from the Khadoran Widowmakers turned Steelhead, or we could see a Trencher or Long Gunner being in that role.
The scout could be a Cygnar Ranger, an Idrian Guide, or a Khadoran Manhunter or Woodsman.
Of course, any and all of them could be Ordic adventurers whose background involves organizations that I know little of. How would you organize them?

What do you envision this unit doing? I assume the sniper snipes, but what do the scout and officer do?

I was looking at them as a spec ops group, but that was just a first draft.

I like the idea thematically. Maybe something like the scout gives the group Eyeless Sight and the officer gives them a rule where they ignore intervening models (or just has Shadowfire or something). So they would be great solo hunters, but you would need to keep them all alive for full effectiveness.

Pretty much. Part of the issue is what to have each one Grant, and that would tie in to their back story. A Ranger Scout would do something different than an Idrian Guide Scout would, for example, such as a difference between Mark Target and Prey.

Id personally like to see a elite stealhead halbadier unit. Each character granting a cmd buff in the form of leaderships.
Captain Nicolas Verendrye (Verendrye 2) Grants leadership on cmd 8 of wall of steel.
Lieutenant Michele Karlsruhe (Karlsruhe1) Grants leadership gang on cmd 8.
Sergeant Sturm Velva (Velva 1) Leadership boundless charge on cmd 8.
The units are niclolas stats with same weapons, tough, rise.
Just my idea

I'm...confused about the potential impostor, but I'm going to stick to the topic. I think probably a good place to start "building" this would be the Black 13th. How is this unit going to differ and who would they work for and what does that mean?

They are Steelheads, so their standard fair. The real question is who did they used to work for before becoming Steelheads?
It could also start off as a joke, a Kayazy, an Idrian, and a Ordic Alchemist walk in to a bar...

I've heard that is a Zerg issue, too. I don't know how one would do that with a Steelhead unit, though.

i think that your three-man unit would be better if it had a forth guy in it
possibly a doggo
