Starcrossed lovers
I’m an infrequent Warmahordes player as real life has bit into my dedicated nerd time but this Saturday I will hopefully be able to play at a local 18 man tournament. I think it was in January I played the last time. For that tournament I brought Vlad 2 in AC and a Butcher3 WG-list. Both lists worked nicely (aside from me dropping the ball all over the place, but at least the lists weren't to fault) but since the Doom Reaver CID dropped I’m looking forward to trying the new hotness.
So Vlad will drop his butcher pal and have a date with his girlfriend Sorscha. I’m trying out a list that is a tiny bit more generalist than just reaver spam, since stationary and magic shotguns sounds fun, and I can finally use my Alexia2 for the first time in mkIII. So the list:
Theme: Wolves of Winter
3 / 3 Free Cards 75 / 75 Army
Kommander Sorscha - WJ: +29
- Greylord Adjunct - PC: 4
- Ruin - PC: 17
- Destroyer - PC: 14
Fenris - PC: 8
- Fenris (Continued)
Koldun Lord - PC: 0
Koldun Lord - PC: 0
Alexia, Mistress of the Witchfire - PC: 7
- Thrall Warrior
Doom Reaver Swordsmen - Leader & 5 Grunts: 10
- Greylord Escort - PC: 3
Doom Reaver Swordsmen - Leader & 5 Grunts: 10
- Greylord Escort - PC: 3
Doom Reaver Swordsmen - Leader & 5 Grunts: 10
- Greylord Escort - PC: 3
Greylord Ternion - Leader & 2 Grunts: 0
Greylord Outriders - Leader & 2 Grunts: 10
Kayazy Eliminators - Leader & 1 Grunt: 5
It’s a bit of everything including a destroyer with guidance and Ruin and 3 three free cards. With all the magic weapons and Sorschas stationary I guess this will be my Cryx and Grymkin drop.
The second list is Vlad 2 AC. Having tried a couple of different iterations of AC I’ve decided to forego the hammer dudes for double Drakhuns. Even with the minifeat I’ve never managed to make them reach the enemy. Bombardiers have almost as bad a track record almost never getting to shoot stuff. I’ll give them some more tries before I go with double shock troopers. I’ve been dubious over Atana’s worth as well as cheap, buying just two Strike Tankers and Dragadovich was expensive enough to enjoy the new hotness of AC, and the hammer dude let me down, over and over. Even though it’s one of the coolest Khador models. So the Vlad list looks like this:
Theme: Armored Corps
3 / 3 Free Cards 75 / 75 Army
Vladimir Tzepesci, The Dark Champion - WJ: +27
- Greylord Adjunct - PC: 4
- Devastator - PC: 14
- Juggernaut - PC: 13
Saxon Orrik - PC: 4
Man-O-War Kovnik - PC: 4
Man-O-War Kovnik - PC: 4
Man-O-War Strike Tanker - PC: 0
Man-O-War Strike Tanker - PC: 0
Man-O-War Drakhun - PC: 9
- Man-O-War Drakhun (Continued)
Man-O-War Drakhun - PC: 9
- Man-O-War Drakhun (Continued)
Man-O-War Bombardiers - Leader & 4 Grunts: 16
- Man-O-War Bombardier Officer - PC: 0
Kayazy Eliminators - Leader & Grunt: 5
Man-O-War Shocktroopers - Leader & 4 Grunts: 16
- Man-O-War Shocktrooper Officer - PC: 4
A lot of potential feat targets as well as scenario blockers and three free cards. Maybe a bit too allround but I’m hopeful it will be able to compete in the different scenarios.
If I’m lucky I’ll get to try one of them at game night tomorrow so I don’t go completely unprepared into the tournament. We will see. Hopefully the Romeo and Juliet angle will give me some fluff points at least.
