Hello
I really like the look of the Cryx warjacks.
I am looking for advice on a small 25 points all warjack list with Lord Exhumator Scaverous. Any ideas ?
Thanks
Kind regards
Kim

He likes Deathjacks, Deneghra 0 and the Withershadow Combine, but all of those are expensive options and will leave you vastly outnumbered at 25 points.
I suggest going with the Withershadow Combine, because you get a free upkeep and extra Telekinesis, then flesh it out with some arc nodes, Slayers and maybe Stalkers.

I love Deathjack with Scaverous, unfortunately he is very expensive and that will eat up half of your jack allotment just by himself. You also want at least 2 arc nodes with Scaverous as he is a good casty caster with spells like telekinesis. He can really control scenarios as long as he can move the models around. Unfortunately, he also needs models that can do work because his spell list is more utility than wrecking ball, which is where deathjack comes in, that can also cast telekinesis and kill anything it can get ahold of. You may want to consider other warjacks that are focus efficient like a seether for some hitting power.
Personally I would do something like:
Lord Exhumator Scaverous in Black industries - Deathjack (-23) - Seether (-13) - Ripjaw (free) - Ripjaw (-7) Warwitch Siren x 2 soul trapper
Alternatively, you could replace the sirens and the soul collector with the withershadow combine for a free upkeep of deathward on the deathjack and a slew of other utility abilities like puppet master and magical attacks. The thinking is to use the warwitches to give out focus (except for a very accurate spray during feat turn) and control the flow of battle through telekinesis, moving your opponents pieces closer and/or your own pieces closer to get in charges with the seether and deathjack. Deathward should be on deathjack from turn 1, 21 ARM and you pick the column that gets damaged makes him really hard to be disabled, and with his self healing abilities, you should be okay. The seether should get soul collector and lets its beserking abilities get you some souls if you have any good targets. If not, you could just charge something big and let its PS 17 attacks really beat it up.
Another option is to replace a warwitch and a soul collector with an iron lich overseer and put the seether under it, which gives it dark shroud and +2 damage from crush and the other warwitch siren can give it additional focus.

I was just about to buy some Cryx models when I read this on 1d4chan "but Cryx is still the most powerful faction in tournament play. Cryx wins more than twice as many tourneys as any other faction (though this may be in part due to Cryx being the most popular), and has no shortage of ways to crush any style of opposing army." That was unfortunate because I am not looking for a popular faction and also not something OP´ed. But the models are really looking good.

I just went to a 40 person tournament and was the only Cryx player.

Cryx is neither the most powerful or most popular tournament faction at the moment. That blurb sounds like it was written during Mk2.

I've also been the only Cryx player at tournaments more often than not lately.
On top of that, I find it difficult to find a good pairing into the current meta hotness like Tharn and Skorne battle engines, because they can often be faster than us and Cryx is usually ill-equipped to take an alpha on the chin. It's not that we can't play into those lists at all, but it's definitely not like what the internet echo chamber wants you to believe.

The tournament I went to this weekend had only a single cryx player, myself. Both Circle, Skorne and Mercs were well represented as well as retribution. My 4 matches were against 1) Circle - Morvahna 1, 2) Skorne - Makeda (1 or 2?), 3) Skorne - Makeda 3, 4) Protectorate - Kreoss 3. I went 2 and 2, which is pretty good for me, but far from over powered. The game really is better balanced now than it has ever been. If you like the look of models get them and use them, don't let others hipster opinions sway you.

Thanks a lot for the replies, I will definitely be looking in to Cryx:) I will probably start building a Cryx army when I am done with my Trollblood army.

Good choices of two armies as they are different enough to be interesting as alternate choices. I play Cryx, Trolls and Circle, and only circle because a friend of mine was selling his army at a price I couldn't refuse. But Cryx and Trolls play opposites for the most part, as trolls do the brick really well and Cryx does casty glass cannons really well. That isn't to say there are not builds that reflect the other and fill those voids, as either army can do most any play style, but for the most part its true.
