As part of the Irusk2 WGK training camp I am putting my self through, he is now pitched agains Goreshade4 running a Legion of Dawn list. This is a pretty good match-up for the Stalingrad style list. If you would like to know how Irusk fares, have a look here.

It was a good read, I appreciate your summary of what your opponent's models can do as I don't know other factions very well. Never get so caught up killing stuff that you neglect the scenario!

Dawnguard are only ARM 15; their absolute maximum is 23 under minifeat and Dauntless, so the other unit would only have been 20. And remember that they only get the +2 when in base to base: If you kill one of a pair, the other one drops 2 ARM. It's important to remember that, as the difference between ARM 20 and ARM 22 is massive for the P12 shooting of the WGI.
There wasn't really much you could do once you got behind on scenario like that. As you correctly point out, you needed to move up on T2; sacrifice some guys to avoid going behind on scenario. I wouldn't have moved the jacks up at that point, though; they'd get mulched by charging Dawnguard, so you need to take the hit on the expendable troops and then counterpunch.
Also, I'm not 100% sure from the angles, but I think your opponent might be out of the killbox? Goreshade seems really far back

Oh, helpful tip when shooting at something like ARM20 Sentinels with your WGI: An individual shot has only a 16% chance to kill one, but a 2 man CRA has almost 50%. Even though you make less shots, you are overall more likely to kill things.
As a rule of thumb the tipping point is where you need about 8 or 9 to kill, you're better off doing 2-man CRAs. Same applies when you need 9+ to hit.

Yes, I am trying to actually implement the idea that a winter guard life is cheap. I haven't perfected it yet.
