I want to run a horgle 2 list but not really sure what to put in, does anyone have any suggestions for a decent build with him and a second list to pair with it. I'm open to all suggestions. Just looking to have a fair chance in local steamrollers but play some trolls.

Honestly never gotten horgle2 to work but things changed a lot since I tried. I guess I would reach (again) for Storm since he has three upkeeps and keeping them for free make sense And he basically want one ranged beast in the Battlegroup so why not mr IceStorm himself
[Theme] Storm of the North Horgle, the Anvil - Glacier King - Trollkin Runebearer Swamp Gobber Chef Valka Curseborn, Chieftain of the North Croak Raiders (min) Krielstone Bearer & Stone Scribes (min) - Northkin Elder 2x Northkin Bear Handlers & Battle Bears 2x Northkin Fire Eaters Northkin Raiders
it ends up looking like 99% of the other lists but thats just because Northkins are better than the rest and Storm is just the best all around theme.
What to pair it with - as always Band of Heroes - to get that sweet RFP ability. The Band can pretty much be anything you fancy
Again its only theory as I have NOT tried it on the table

I distantly remember reading an article featuring Horgle2 and Grimm1 double war wagon lists, which might give you a few pointers, but for the life of me, I can't remember where.
What is the board consensus for double War Wagons under Horgle here? Maybe that discussion can help you, hogridrluv.

I have always wanted scattergunners to be good and they can shoot a bit more than three inches past a huge base when they target it. Here is a very rough draft: War Room Army Trollblood - New Army Theme: Kriel Company 3 / 3 Free Cards 74 / 75 Army Horgle, the Anvil - WB: +29 - Trollkin Runebearer - PC: 0 - Dire Troll Bomber - PC: 19 (Battlegroup Points Used: 19) - Ice Troll - PC: 9 (Battlegroup Points Used: 9) Hearthgut Hooch Hauler - PC: 18 War Wagon - PC: 16 War Wagon - PC: 16 Krielstone Bearer & Stone Scribes - Leader & 3 Grunts: 6 - Stone Scribe Elder - PC: 3 Northkin Fire Eaters - Leader, Trollkin Grunt, and Pyg Grunt: 7 Scattergunners - Leader & 5 Grunts: 8 - Scattergunner Officer & Standard - Officer & Standard: 0 Pummeler Crew - Gunner & 2 Grunts: 0

Thanks for the ideas, I think I'll start collecting some northkin stuff as it seems to be the best place to start building. It looks like a lot of the warlocks like running SotN so that should give me options to play around with.

I been enjoying him in kriel company with mountain king and a pyre. Highway men and full bushwackers. War wagon, small stone ,rune bearer and braylen. Been fun so far. Less liked caster in a less liked theme.

Less liked caster in a less liked theme. Sound fun list to play. I have only played one game with Horgle2 and think he is quite boring caster to play. You have to also keep in mind that you wont get solid ground upkeep free, because Horgle is not northkin model. Tuffaloes are solid pick because they went to arm22 under stone.

Horgle2 is a very underrated and underplayed caster. He has some very useful and interesting spells that support both melee and shooting.
Solid ground for no knockdown tough rolls Inviolable Resolve for +2 armour.
Iv had lots of success with running Kriel Warriors as chaff. An engaged warrior can be arm21!!! (arm 15 base, +2 from stone, +2 from IR, +2 from being engaged). Combines with no knockdown on tough rolls this makes them very hard to shift. Fennblades can be arm 18 which also increases their survivability.
I have been playing these two lists with him.
Trollbloods Army - 75 / 75 points Horgle 2 Fire and Ice [Theme] Storm of the North
[Horgle 2] Horgle, the Anvil [+29] - Glacier King [35] - Pyre Troll [8] - Rök [19] - Trollkin Runebearer [0(5)] Fell Caller Hero [5] Kriel Warriors (max) [11] Krielstone Bearer & Stone Scribes (max) [9] - Northkin Elder [3] Northkin Fire Eaters [7] Northkin Fire Eaters [7]
This list Inviolable Resolve goes on the Kriel Warriors, Firestarter goes on GK. Both are upkept for free due to theme benefits. Lots of setting things on fire from range/sprays. Could swap out FC for Mist speaker if stealth becomes an issue
Trollbloods Army - 75 / 75 points [Theme] Band of Heroes
[Horgle 2] Horgle, the Anvil [+29] - Dire Troll Bomber [19] - Dire Troll Mauler [15] - Pyre Troll [8] - Trollkin Runebearer [0(5)] Swamp Gobber Chef [1] Krielstone Bearer & Stone Scribes (max) [9] - Stone Scribe Elder [0(3)] Trollkin Fennblades (max) [15] - Trollkin Fennblade Officer & Drummer [0(5)] Trollkin Fennblades (max) [15] - Trollkin Fennblade Officer & Drummer [5] Trollkin Warders (max) [17]
Playing with a second list. Inviolable Resolve switching between each “wave” of Fennblades or the warders as the scenario required. Bomber and Pyre for setting things on fire.
Iv yet to build a PoD list for Horgle that im fully happy with but im sure he has game there too

Perhaps something like this could work.
War Room Army
Trollblood - New Army
Theme: Storm of the North 3 / 3 Free Cards 75 / 75 Army
Horgle, the Anvil - WB: +29 - Trollkin Runebearer - PC: 0 - Mountain King - PC: 36 (Battlegroup Points Used: 29)
Hearthgut Hooch Hauler - PC: 18 Hearthgut Hooch Hauler - PC: 18
Valka Curseborn, Chieftain of the North - PC: 0 Fell Caller Hero - PC: 0 Swamp Gobber Chef - PC: 1
Northkin Fire Eaters - Leader, Trollkin Grunt, and Pyg Grunt: 7 Northkin Raiders - Leader & 9 Grunts: 15 Krielstone Bearer & Stone Scribes - Leader & 3 Grunts: 6 - Northkin Elder - PC: 3
THEME: Storm of the North ---

Double battlengine could do a lot of work under Feat. This list is built for an good alpha and the mountain king with armor 23 would be the anchor of this list to finish the job.

I played this last year a few times. It was pretty nifty. Early game you have IR on the longriders and Fire Starter on the GK. Once the LRs go down you move IR to the GK and they have to deal with an ARM 23 King.
War Room Army
Trollblood - SotN
Theme: Storm of the North 3 / 3 Free Cards 75 / 75 Army
Horgle, the Anvil - WB: +29 - Trollkin Runebearer - PC: 0 - Glacier King - PC: 35 (Battlegroup Points Used: 29)
Gremlin Swarm - PC: 3 Fell Caller Hero - PC: 0 Valka Curseborn, Chieftain of the North - PC: 0
Krielstone Bearer & Stone Scribes - Leader & 5 Grunts: 9 - Northkin Elder - PC: 3 Northkin Bear Handler & Battle Bears - Bear Handler & 2 Battle Bears: 10 Northkin Bear Handler & Battle Bears - Bear Handler & 2 Battle Bears: 10 Northkin Fire Eaters - Leader, Trollkin Grunt, and Pyg Grunt: 7 Northkin Fire Eaters - Leader, Trollkin Grunt, and Pyg Grunt: 7 Trollkin Long Riders - Leader & 4 Grunts: 20

I would like to see Horgle and Gunny in the next ADR, assuming that they tone the rosters down in general. I do like him, and he is playable, but he's just not strong enough to keep up with the power creep. beardmonk Your SoTN list could get the Fell Caller for free if you spend another 3 points on units, like a Sorcerer or CA on the Kriel Warriors, and then you'd have 2 points for a Feralgeist or Swamp Gobbers.
