Hello, In my tinkering, i've created the lists below. I feel there is something there, between solid ground, rapid growth and his feat, Baldur should be able to protect against non flying/ghostly armies. A puppet master, stone skin, eyeless sighted, divine inspiration Caul and/or LOTF should have an amazing time on the field. Thoughts? Bloodtrackers aren't a must (though going with the theme im going with, would another unit of bloodweavers be the way to go as per the second list?) conflictchamber.com/?c8201b_-0j4mmDmKmRfrfrfImImUmUjXmSmF5q4_mQ4_mQCircle Army - 75 / 75 points [Theme] The Devourer's Host [Baldur 1] Baldur the Stonecleaver [+31] - Feral Warpwolf [16] - Ghetorix [19] - Tharn Blood Shaman [4] Bloodweaver Night Witch [4] Bloodweaver Night Witch [4] Bog Trog Mist Speaker [4] Lord of the Feast [0(6)] Tharn Wolf Rider Champion [0(7)] Tharn Wolf Rider Champion [0(7)] Boil Master & Spirit Cauldron [5] Bríghid & Caul [7] Tharn Bloodtrackers (max) [15] - Nuala the Huntress [4] Tharn Bloodweavers [8] - Tharn Bloodweaver Haruspex [4] Tharn Bloodweavers [8] - Tharn Bloodweaver Haruspex [4] conflictchamber.com/?c8201b_-0j4m4Q4MmRfrfrfImI5imUmUjXmS4_mQ4_mQ4_mQCircle Army - 75 / 75 points [Theme] The Devourer's Host [Baldur 1] Baldur the Stonecleaver [+31] - Megalith [20] - Pureblood Warpwolf [17] - Tharn Blood Shaman [4] Bloodweaver Night Witch [4] Bloodweaver Night Witch [4] Bog Trog Mist Speaker [4] Lord of the Feast [0(6)] Tharn Ravager White Mane [5] Tharn Wolf Rider Champion [0(7)] Tharn Wolf Rider Champion [0(7)] Boil Master & Spirit Cauldron [5] Bríghid & Caul [7] Tharn Bloodweavers [8] - Tharn Bloodweaver Haruspex [4] Tharn Bloodweavers [8] - Tharn Bloodweaver Haruspex [4] Tharn Bloodweavers [8] - Tharn Bloodweaver Haruspex [4]

I very much prefer the first list. Bloodtrackers are amazing and im a megalith sceptic, ESPECIALLY with baldur 1.

I've run a list similar to your first with varying degrees of success against different armies. Just too bad stoneskin is an upkeep, otherwise you could be throwing it out with a bloodshaman and megalith too

Thanks team! elshinare what sort of match ups hurt you? What were common pitfalls and mistakes?

Usually I run into scenario problems, because I am bad at scenario. But hotswapping stoneskin between trackers and bloodweavers is pretty legit...pow13 weaponmaster spears can get work done, as does pow 13 di into any infantry. No tough or healing is key. Just gotta make sure you spread out enough for blasts if models are not within 12 of Baldur1

Well of Orboros will make this type of list super good imo!

Well of Orboros will make this type of list super good imo! Crockpot or well...they both "cost" the same if you use Well of Orboros math

I'm probably not ready for the well for a bit, gorgeous model but i have so much unpainted things to deal with. I am hoping it is not a critical model to have.
I am playing my first games with this list tonight. Very excited!!
Possible opponent List: Caine2 Reinholdt Ace Hurricane
Captain Maxwell Finn Trench Buster Trench Buster Commander Anson Hitch
Rangers Trencher Infantry Officer and sniper Trencher Express Team Trencher Express Team
It will be an interesting match up. Between Ace and Reinholdt, i can't rely on stealth. But it does still pose questions for my opponent. My feat turn would be effective, and solid ground will protect my team from the blasts.
I imagine his priority stealth removals are LOTF, Brighid, and then remaining solos. Hopefully i can quickly silence the express teams, perhaps drop LOTF into Ace and/or the trenchers (shoot target dependent, rat 7 with puppet master offers some hope, but id rather more certainty).
Depending on terrain, a forest placed to protect LOS to Baldur, LOTF and B&C would be splendid, though that is a big ask.

Oh Caine2 has true sight too, lovely.
So it might mean that i have an early feat turn, he may not care about the rough terrain aspect of it, so the cover early on might be the best way forward.
Iona would be the preferred drop i think. Phantasm on her shuts down a lot of the risk for assassination. Still going to play Baldur though as i am excited for the list!
If only i had this much time to analyse every list pair.....

Baldur is probably decent against cain 2. Hr can shoot down several models a turn, true but his army is very ineffective against you. Your feat means he cant relyably hit your stuff without boosting, so it sort of prevents him from feating to shoot down something big.
He will most likely try for assassination if you give him the chance, so... Dont. Block LoS with a forest etc. Good luck!

That is indeed what went down! He shot models he wanted to shoot, but as all my models had quality to them, he couldn't shoot them all. The bigger risk was assassination but as we were both learning our lists we talked about that every turn (i get complacent very easily so odds are he would have won using this method, very easily).
Some notes: * Baldur was fury starved. Even with harmonious exaltation, i wanted to cast everything available to me, but had to be particular in my choices. * Baldur's control range is smaaaaaall. Spreading out that feat and solid ground was difficult. * Baldur is slow. SPD 5 in circle is not what i am used to. Maybe I should have forest walked? There was an opportunity * I wanted to test out AD on the bloodweavers so I opted not to ambush. It would be rare for me to do that again..... It made it impossible to protect everything with feat and solid ground. It also let my opponent spread out. Always ambush unless there is a reason not to * Mist Speaker's Eyeless sight was super useful against this match up. Need to find uses for the model outside of its eyeless sight scenarios (flag scoring, contesting, cloud generation) * Divine Inspiration on LOTF (and i assume Caul) is SUPER LEGIT. OMG. * Against a list that can't deal with it, Baldur's feat is the business. Very crippling.
I need a few more reps before i make the call, but with such a need for fury, is Ghetorix worth having? Need to see what the alternatives are i guess.

Ghetorix should be ball busting with Baldur. ARM 21 is a thing, and no knockdown is very relevant too.
