Two more games down against the same Kromac1 player. Long story short I won by assassination and then scenario. Managed to blast Kromac1 down to Arm11 and then murdered him with Holt and a few reavers. Second time round I played wide, lost a few reavers to heavies. But I was able to pull his Battlegroup apart and take it down but by but. I'm hoping to play into another player next time. But that's my OW2 update. Heheheh. He said butt. Heheheheheheh.

Back again. Took OW2 and Strakhov1 to a tournament last week. Played OW2 into Nemo3 and Hark. And then played Strakhov1 into Zaal1. The Strakhov into Zaal was a complete mismatch that I won because a Juggernaut bounced off a guardian and into a Zaal who was camping 1 with three attacks at dice +5.
As for the Nemo3 game. I won by scenario on turn 3. I was able to get a decent alpha off on several Jacks, taking one out of action. A destroyer with Puppet master and a reroll from the Old Witch feat just in case landed a bombard on Caine0, killed him and took Ace out of action. And another reaver one shot his other junior.
Whilst his two storm strides did do a bunch of damage, the OW2 windstorm prevented them from reaching far up the board. In order to prevent them from advancing I put doom two reavers base to base with one, and three thralls spat out from Alexia2 on the other. Preventing them from contesting on the major turn.
Against Hark I was far less lucky and it was a sound loss. My opponent had Behemoth, destroyer a unit of widow makers and a marksman. They were spaced so widely that the witch couldn't catch them. Even with reavers engaging them in melee, they missed a few free strikes and they all got shot. Despite getting three reavers onto Hark, I missed with every attack on him.
However, I have decided to swap out the juggernaut for a kodiak. Mostly because I've been thinking about it. But pathfinder and smash and grab means more board control from my jack.

Nice, love to see the Hoff doing his thing! But... are you telling me Hark is actually good?

Nice, love to see the Hoff doing his thing! But... are you telling me Hark is actually good? He's always been good. With three kodiaks he has a rolling cloud wall so getting a good charge is hard. Especially when you equal the threat of his jacks.

He was good at the start of MkIII, but I was under the impression that his stock had fallen since then.

He was good at the start of MkIII, but I was under the impression that his stock had fallen since then. If we go by DiscountGames he hasn't placed in a tournament in nearly 3 years. As I recall there was a 'Make Harkevich great again' thread (from you, welshhoppo ?) where Hark failed to be great. Now, if they'd simply taken MkII Hark and given him some more WJP, we'd be laughing. But now he has to spend 3 focus a turn for +2 SPD and Pathfinder, whereas he used to just have to upkeep Escort to get much the same effect. He also lost his only support spell, and his stats got worse. His positives are that Minister got better, and he got the Reposition Field Marshal. Problem is, you don't want him in combat and Reposition in no way compensates for what he lost. The cloud wall is neat, but I don't want half my jacks to be P16 on a caster with no damage buffs. I want to like Hark, but he only has one spell and it takes half of his focus. Once the lines meet he more or less has no spells, and he'll have used his feat by then. One day I'll get round to trying him in Wolves, where there is actually extra focus and DEF/ARM debuffs to be had. But I'm not expecting much tbh.

I've genuinely gotten myself worked up by how bad Hark and Black Ivan are these days. Time for a cuppa.

Cuppa in hand and back on topic; I think the original OW2 list you posted was extremely crafty, using the Forge Seers and Malakov to get the most out of the cheap Boundless Charge. But I can also respect the power of Doom Reaver spam with a caster who can protect them.
Do you think it's possible to get a best-of-both situation? It seems like there's enough points going round that you could get 4-5 jacks and 4-5 units of Doom Reavers in there

Yes. I did try (and fail) to make Hark great again. But I also hadn't played much hark and I wasn't in a good mental state at the time. But my games were pretty good. And now with Sorscha you get that 12 inch threat that he really needs.
And yes, I did enjoy the first list, although I did nick it from Rob McCormick. As for mixing and matching. I think five units of reavers is the sweet spot. So at that point you might as well go up to sixty points for the free cards. Which leaves you with 42 points for potential warjacks. So you could potentially run 4 Ragers or 5 Berserkers. Which would be an interesting load out for warjacks. But considering how important flags seem to be in the new CID. I think you really need Alexia2.
Anyway, I'm running OW2 next weekend at the Welsh Masters. (woo). So this list is set in stone until that date.
