Wow I love the model. I will definitely be buying it and putting her in one of my two lists I hope to develop as my main pair for the first half of 2019.
This is my starting point for Jaws of the Wolf (I think character jacks are more fun)
Khador Army - 75 / 75 points [Theme] Jaws of the Wolf !!! This army contains CID entries.
[Strakhov 1] Kommander Oleg Strakhov [+28] - Behemoth [25] - Marauder [11] - Marauder [11] - Torch [18] - Greylord Adjunct [0(4)] Greylord Forge Seer [4] Kovnik Apprentice Kratikoff [0(4)] - Beast 09 [18] Yuri the Axe [0(6)] Battle Mechaniks (min) [3] Battle Mechaniks (min) [3] Kayazy Eliminators [5] Kayazy Eliminators [5]
Note: for some reason conflict chamber won't let me add Beast 09 to sorscha's battle group. Had to type it in after copying the list into the thread.
Edit: (Found after that if you use the paper clip beside sorscha it doesn't work but simply adding Beast to the list puts him in her battle group)

OMG is the fur hat flaps down!? Just saw this model after the doom reaver one, she looks better and more Khador. Awesome!
She'll be in every Karchev, Hark and Strakhov1 Jaws list in my case.

OK, I like how her axe is reminiscent of her traditional hammersickle (or rather "raven's beak") weapon. I hate the blunderbuss, but then I usually hate PP's takes on firearms (and I often modify or replace them as needed).
Overall it's pretty good; not as good as as some of Sorscha's other sculpts, but that's understandable considering it's her as a journeyman.

OK, I like how her axe is reminiscent of her traditional hammersickle (or rather "raven's beak") weapon. That's the part of the model I like the least actually. Partly the excessive spikes on top (which I know replicate the look of Frostfang). I see it and think "wouldn't one be enough?".
I think I would have liked the axe to be a bit more "Winterguard Axe, but meckanical", rather than what looks to me like an odd hybrid of an axe and her later personal weapon.I know it's about linking her to the later versions, but "female warcaster with bob cut and WG hat" does that enough for me.

No, one spike wouldn't be enough because you can't trap an enemy's weapon with one spike. Well, that COULD be what the spikes are there for, right?
Anyway, spikes are easy to cut off if you don't like them. I do it all the time: I cut all Harkevich's spikes off for example.

I thought it didn't work because the journeymen aren't warcasters: From the theme rules: "An army made using a theme force can include any character warjacks that can be bonded to a particular warcaster as part of that warcaster's battlegroup whether or not the warjack can normally be included..." "Battlegroup Controller: This model is not a warcaster..."

It wasn't ruled; the bond rules were changed to allow it.
...and if the crap wasn't friggin' spread all over the place nowadays, I could link you to it. Hang on...

Yeah, Warmachine University says it was changed 06/2018. Thr Bond rules on the cards also say the character 'jack just has to be in <BLANK'S> battlegroup to be Bonded. It does not mention that they can only be Bonded to full fledged warcasters.

Correct. Sorscha 0 can take Beast 09 in any theme if he’s in her Battlegroup. And then if you kill her off, you can put it in the warcaster’s Battlegroup but then you don’t have Sorscha which is sad.

I never thought about that. Not sure I will plan to kill her off but if she dies I can then allow Beast to be a part of the overrun shenanigans. Cool.

I don’t think killing her off is The Plan, but in some situations it might not be a bad Plan B.
Imagine a Karchev-Jaws list where Beast — and only Beast — is 12” away from killing your opponent’s caster. Beast’s max threat is 11”, right? WRONG. It’s 14”. Sorscha casts boundless charge on Beast. Something kills Sorscha. Karchev advances base to base with Beast and spends a focus to reactivate it, feats, then later in the turn is able to use Road to War to advance Beast an extra 3”. Your two forge seers allocate 2 empower foci to Beast. You now have a 14” threat Beast who charges for free and can buy two extra boosted damage attacks.
Does not suck.
