Hi! I have a great friend, too good for me at the very least. This Christmas he bought and beautifully painted 100ish points of blindwater stuff for me. Best friend ever! What I'm looking for is advice on what to bring and when in a journeyman tournament, maybe what to buy next and maybe some general tips with the blindwater themes models.
WWFF is a bit more accessible to get into that Blindwater, just fewer models needed. Rask works very well with it, as does Barney1 (Overtake + Warpath). For better or worse, Croaks and Posse tend to work best in multiples. For new purchases, the lesser warlocks are very good value.
Thanks man, I might just buy Dahlia or Wrong eye. Both seems like fun and they both work in Blind Water. Which one do you prefer? And why? By the way Gaston, I really love your podcast, both fun an informative! I just wish they were weekly =)
Both are good, in purchase order I would prefer Dahlia.
-What she brings is more unique than WE/SJ: --SJ is a straight up beater, and a damn good one. However, Rask can already swing damage +6 and strip defensive upkeeps. --WE brings Starcrossed, which is tougher to leverage on Def 12 (good combo with B2 though) --Skarath is a Reach beast (unique) with high Defense (unique) and Speed 6 base (unique) and Steady (good for Kwaak) --Dahlia can Stealth Skarath with Rask's Veil of Mists and Haunting Melody is a scenario nightmare for many Hordes lists --The snake is HIGHLY accurate with Paralysis and Dahlia's bond which can help out the rest of the list too, and takes some load off of Rask's gun. It also has a spray and counterblast with Gunfighter. -Finally, Dahlia just fits into lists more often than WE/SJ (i.e. Def 16 snake with Jaga Jaga)
All that being said, WE/SJ are very, very good too, not dumping on them at all. Specifically for Rask, keep an open mind on Rorsch and Brine, with Diversionary Tactics, Veil of Mists, Shadow Walk, and Boundless Charge it threats 16" through buildings and models. However, they are only in WWFF not Blindwater and are not as universally applicable as Dahlia is.
