So, was dorking around on Conflict Chamber making 25 point lists... When I made a discovery.
Khador Army - 25 / 25 points
Manhunter [4] Manhunter [4] Yuri the Axe [6] Kossite Woodsmen (max) [11]
This looks like so much fun. It is likely terrible, but having Yuri be the warband leader with Mission Specialist could be a wild time. Found a brand new 10 man box of Kossites for $19 shipped, and ordered Yuri tonight to go with the two Manhunters I already have.
What do you guys think, depending on what I draw for Command Cards, I think the Kossites can possibly do a decent amount of work.

That's an interesting idea, and I like how well the points work out. You might end up having to spend a lot of cards on boosting attack rolls though due to the Kossites' low stats? I guess it's performance will be very table-dependant.

Hah, in all honesty, I do not expect much from the Kossites. They will mainly be there to grab loot, contest flags/objectives... and to occasionally do a bit of combat when I draw the buff cards that affect whole units. The ended CMD range of Yuri (who is base CMD 9?!) from Mission Specialist, along with the once per turn reroll if we roll for a scenario that does not have any mission actions, should allow me to be able to keep Yuri and the Manhunters alive by rerolling a poor attack role on a critical model along with get good distance on the Commander CMD range buffs the cards provide.

You won't be able to run two Manhunters, unfortunately. I'd suggest putting Valachev on the Kossites.

It seems like I have missed quite a bit in the unit creation rules, as FA 2 apparently does not translate over to CoI... odd.

Yeah, everything is FA: 1 in Company of Iron. Command Attachments intended for Mercenary units like Valachev or Mosby can go on any friendly faction unit.
There's some other interesting stuff like the War Dog going on your Commander or taking Doom Reaver Guard or Butcher's dogs as a unit as well. Come to think of it, if you're planning on only playing Kossites, Manhunters, Yuri, and Greylords you can also 'jack marshal Scrapjack for 6 points. Not sure if it's good but it's certainly interesting.

Last Saturday was our first time playing CoI, and we are totally infatuated with it.

It should be noted that there are a lot of additional dice and boost cards in the deck, making kossites a lot more deadly than they first seem. I've found in CoI that having a large body count with a 6+ hand will usually make a strong list.
I dont play khafor but I've considered buying a similar list just for CoI.
Company of Iron Army
Khador - The Huntsmen
25 / 25 Army Hand Size: 6
Mission Specialist - Commander Upgrade
Koldun Lord - Commander - PC: 4
Widowmaker Marksman - PC: 4 Yuri the Axe - PC: 6
Kossite Woodsmen - Leader & 9 Grunts: 11

Koldun Lord with Mission Specialist is my jam. Here's hoping he keeps some of his kit from the CID.

The only one that seemed particularly too strong was the Cephalx one that let them take monstrosities. Though the only ones I have experience with are the farrow and blindwater ones. Overall they are kind of neat, they remind me of the lists all the way back in the origanl company of iron league packet in mk2
Edit: unlike in warmachine proper I didn't feel disadvantaged not taking a theme against them.
