So I'm currently trying to step outside of my normal gator based armies and with the introduction of Mire I thought it would be a good time to go back to pigs.
I'm currently toying with the idea of maximising Rage and Gangfighter (under Helga obviously). I think that with Gangfighter and Rage, the Road Hogs should be able to output enough damage to kill most things and the battle boar is there to give out Primal for assassination runs.
Anyone tried anything similar?

Simple Question: what will Helga do for that list an other warlock can't do?
Why no Carver?

Helga offers an innate MAT buff to beasts through Gangfighter hence the abundance of reach infantry. Additionally her feat somewhat fills the same role as slammed models are knocked down (assuming they aren't steady.

In my infrequent attempts staying involved in this game I've most recently put Helga on the table and have two games, both of which were victorious against Legion and Skorne. (Lylyth2 and Xerxes1 respectively.) In both games I didn't bother with theme forces but do have a will work for food list that I want to try, however I need to get hold of Nyss for that.
The legion game I went almost all farrow with a max unit of brigands with CA being the defender's ward target and in the skorne game I went with gator infantry taking a full unit of posse and max unit of croaks. In both games the battlegroup was the same, battleboar, 2 war hogs and 2 pairs of razor boars (so 4 in total).
The soul slave has been amazing and utterly changed her board presence. Distraction was just fantastic in the skorne game making swordsmen inaccurate and easy to hit which meant the razor boars got work out of still as death. (It's quite hard to shut down up to 5 counter-charging models that are hiding behind the main lines.) Muzzle hasn't come into play yet but it's a nice control spell into hordes. This model gives her that little extra fury to more easily do what she wants each turn (a bone shrine would help even further) and it can make much better use of her offensive spells than she can.
Razor boars are really fun little missiles with Helga, I'm not trying to say they're good warbeasts but they are amusing and a MAT 7 POW 14 counter-charge can do useful work. It may be a waste of resources but primal stacked on top pushes them to a P+S 16 charge attack, if you brought hutchuck for rust then that little piggy has a very respectable charge attack. Leaving big enough gaps between your infantry models means they can form a rearguard for counter-charges, although it requires to you plan out your fury quite carefully. In all my lists the battlegroup has been the second wave, she can't speed the beasts up so I let the infantry get me up the table. Defender's ward helps there but really, I've been lucky that neither of my opponents were able to apply any ranged dominance to clear our my infantry.
Here's the will work for food list that I've yet to put on the table but to me looks the most well-rounded of everything I've come up with so far.
Helga Battle boar Road hog Razor boars Razor boars War hog War hog Soul slave (free)
Min bone grinders Min bone grinders Max Nyss hunters Alten Ashley (free) Victor Pendrake Gatorman witch doctor.

Well, it might be that I only played her into bad matchups: there were games I was shot off the table, there were games my opponent had more infantry I could handle, there were games against Madrak1 unhitable feat stealing Champions...
In fact, the closest games I had were against non shooty Skorne, but overall I think that Helga doesn´t have the tools to build a strong list even in a 2-list-format.
I couldn´t find a spot were that +2 to MAT for your beasts changed anything on the table. If you like to run her as a ARM cracker, you have to get weak infantry that can´t contribute to that plan. Slaughterhousers you say? They mess with activation order, because due to their special rules, they like to go second so that their target is already damaged. You say: ok, lets take some Gun Boars or Road Hogs then... Well, I did that:
conflictchamber.com/#cb201b_-09ev0M0M1d1dfC0Ofl0S0SMinion Army - 62 / 75 points [Theme] The Thornfall Alliance !!! Your army must contain at least 99 total points. !!! You have an unused free card. [Helga 1] Helga the Conqueror [+29] - Gun Boar [9] - Gun Boar [9] - Road Hog [16] - Road Hog [16] Hutchuk, Ogrun Bounty Hunter [0(6)] Farrow Brigands (max) [15] - Farrow Brigand Warlord [4] Farrow Slaughterhousers [11] Farrow Slaughterhousers [11]
Is the core of my most successful list with her. Though every single different caster in Thornfall worked better for me. It´s a shame, because I love her model.
Maybe I should switch to WWFF, but then I´d rather run Valkyries instead of Nyss...

Yeah I'm pretty convinced that there are two things that suddenly make her viable (although I have yet to put it on the table).
1) Valkyries offer defense against shooting and are great triggers for Gangfighter with both Vengeance and 2 inch reach. They also hit reasonably hard and accurately with Helga and Gang.
2) Mire being able to offer access to 3 castings of rage if required with a further casting from the Wrastler (who is himself a great back line piece)
With Road Hogs suddenly becoming MAT 8 POW 20 they're able to actually take care of enemy heavies (especially if you can get some Valks charging in first.
One particularly fun interaction I'm hoping to see happen is leaping with the Totem Hunter then using him as a feat obstacle (ie caster gets slammed into him and doesn't move and takes an additional dice on damage.

Valkyries do look cool and I would like to get them on the table to see how they do. She definitely works very well with them. I still think the soul slave is the biggest change to her overall viability with a minor credit to the bone shrine as well.
Mire and the cheap(ish) option for a wrastler so you get rage is good and I can't say it sounds bad but I have found gang fighter to be relevant enough. Razor boars love it and makes their animus a worthwhile option if you have the space to spend the fury. If you were able to get distraction out then having them behind your main infantry line they are very reliable for counter-charges. (It was just funny watching them snack on Skorne swordsmen during his turn.) Gang fighter on beasts is both an accuracy and a damage buff and pushes our miserable MAT 5 lights & lessers into respectable territory before we start considering primal or rage.
Part of the reason for this is perhaps because I'm not using road hogs, I'm taking war hogs for my damage output. I'm using infantry to soak the alpha (unless I can use terrain to my advantage) which defender's ward helps enormously. War hogs with gang fighter don't need any further help clearing infantry or armour with just their own personal strength buff but primal gets them to P+S 22 on the cleavers for when the enemy is really tough. When I used brigands I was against legion and he had a decent amount of firepower but terrain was my friend and it was difficult for him to concentrate fire effectively. The brigands with prey did great work on his beasts and infantry at range and helped force him to commit more closely than he would have liked. I'm enjoying Helga and although she may not stand out as better at anything than other warlocks she's got a nice flexible toolkit. Distraction and Muzzle are amazing spells and the soul slave and bone shrine let them be cast effectively.
