To all others. Would kriel warriors be playable at 10 points with a 2 point CA and 1 point cabers? Then its 15 points for 15 dudes. They still suck, but stacking buffs on such a big unit makes more sense...

If not, then how about a mini-feat that harkens back to some of the old "prayers" optional bonuses?

With Pathfinder coming from Grim's Weald Secrets, or a Fell Caller, and the other buffs a Fell Caller, or Chronicler could pass out, wouldn't this help the Kriel Warriors enough? If they are only to be used as pawns to annoy and distract the enemy in the form of a jamming/screen unit and help hold zones, shouldn't that be enough? Obviously any list can be optimized, but having a few ideas on how to shake the dust off these models is helpful for those who would like to run them every once in a while. It is great to see the suggestions made here on how to use them best, while also balancing those suggestions with the observations of their shortcomings.

ryssen2Well said. But raiders are 4 points more expensive, arent they? For the max unit. the min units are two points apart.

with Madrak3 I take a metric ton of them fully kitted because take up on the caber can contest a scenario forever. Anybody else gets just the UA because the caber is kind of trash for the points.
Edit, I've also relegated them to purely "fun" lists.

Their only real purpose is to get in the way so I can deliver my champs, but with guided hand and fell caller buff they can do a surprising amount of work. Cabers and UA are pretty useless though, they're alright models but they dilute the biggest draw of kriel warriors, being that they're dirt cheap and quasi-durable, def 14 arm 19 is a pretty decent statline for a 1.1 pt model.

They still suck, but stacking buffs on such a big unit makes more sense... I think 10 or 11p do not matter. Problem is elsewhere. The fact they are as good combatants as kriel stone makes me sad. SPD6 and pow11 would be good alternative to old prayers. Cabers are even harder place as 1p is less than normal grunt, but 2p is quite much. 1p would be OK price with their current stats as they can't make freestrikes after attack. But I would more likely see them justify their cost. Giving momentum decent collateral damage would help much. And giving them hand weapon for free strikes would help them too.

I've been running two units of Kriel warriors in a calendar list with champs. Best list ive played since EE. You still need a list to play into a ranged heavy, but into combined arms or a melee list... It's a beast! Calandra, All the champs, cold stone, 2 max KW.
