Even at def 13 I just dont see it. It goes in gets afew models with its animus, being that close it will get charged anyway. What have you achieved?

I think the interesting thing will be of you can get it behind things. That way it can still have an impact but can't be charged.

So a bit late for CiD, but I finally got to test the Clockatrice, thought I'd share my observations.
First game:
My List: Child - Dark Menagerie Skin & Moans x2 Clockatrice x2 Cage Rager Crabbit x2 Gorehound Rattler Death Knell Karianna Rose Gremlin Swarm x4
Opponent: Locke - Destruction Initiative Corollary Diffuser x2 Inverter x2 Monitor x2 Cipher Algorithmic Dispersion Optifex x2 Optifex Directive Reflex Servitors x3 Accretion Servitors
Overall, I don't like this match-up. Very few corpses to power up my beasts, almost no living models to get paralysis on, lots of access to magical weapons to kill my Gremlins, overall not a good time. So general recap was that we were trading heavies back and forth all game. Opponent got the alpha, sending an Inverter to kill a Skin & Moans. I retaliate, kill the Inverter. Next turn, same thing, Inverter kills Skin & Moans, I kill Inverter. Eventually I was able to win on scenario, helped in large part due to terrible rolls (a MAT 9 Inverter missed twice on a Gorehound, for example).
The Clockatrices were unremarkable, but not terrible. They mostly sprayed to clear servitors off flags, which is what let me win, but never got into melee. Twice it looked like I'd have to send one in, but I was able to remove the threat before involving them.
Game 2: My List - King of Nothing - Dark Menagerie Skin & Moans Cage Rager Clockatrice x2 Frightmare x3 Crabbit x1 Death Knell Karianna Rose Glimmer Imp Gremlin Swarm x4
Opponent played the same list as before.
This match-up, the Clockatrices got much more involved. Cloud wall generally protected, though I goofed bad one turn and had things he could charge inside the cloud, resulting in the Inverters charging and nearly killing one clockatrice (it Time Stutter'd away with 1 box left), dropping the other to half (no systems out) and killing 2 Frightmares. Fortunately, between the Trump Arcana, 3 Gremlin Swarms,a fully loaded Skin& Moans with Enrage and Scything Touch, and the healthy-ish Clockatrice, I was able to kill both Inverters. Next turn the Ciper killed the Skin&Moans, which I used Sacrifice to heal the Clockatrices. A Clockatrice then killed the Ciper with the +6 Damage swing of Scything Touch, Kingdom of Ashes, and Enrage.
At this point game was heavily in my favor scenario wise, as he was running out of models. A Monitor charged my Cage Rager, but between -2 to damage from a Gremin's Mischief, and the +2 ARM from Death Knell, it was barely scratched. Last turn I was going to win on scenario no matter what (up 7-3, he wasn't going to score anywhere and I had a flag), I decided to see how well the Clockatrices could assassinate.
Clockatrice 1 sprays Locke over a wall, boosted to hit, and connects. Clockatrice 2 then charges, having received Scything Touch and Enrage, and one-shots Locke.
Overall, I really like Clockatrices. They aren't the greatest, but they are a welcome addition. I think they are best with King of Nothing (+6 damage swing really fixes their big issue), but can see myself using them with every caster except Wanderer (because he does nothing for them, and I really don't like him) and Dreamer (she doesn't need anything they bring to the table). The fact that all (save Wanderer) of our casters can buff the Clockatrice's damage, and there's always access to Rose, means they aren't nearly as bad as they first appear. At least, in my opinion.

Just (well, about 5 hours ago) got two more games in with the Clockatrice, this time vs Trollbloods. Got further confirmation that they are, in fact, good. Also got confirmation that Wanderer is, in fact, not good (at least for me), but that's not important right now. Also also got confirmation that one really should be able to go above POW/P+S14 when playing against Madrak1 (I had 1 Skin&Moans, with no corpses, and was going to be basically insta-killed if it got into combat. Managed to win still, oddly enough).
But yeah, Clockatrices are legit. The spray gives it something to do every turn, and can serve either to kill infantry or mess with beasts/multiwound models (Paralyzed Tuffalo are sad Tuffalo), and with buffs they still can hit hard enough to be a legit assassination threat.
So I think I'm going to make Clockatrices a constant presence in my KoN/Child lists. Not sure about in Heretic or Old Witch 3, and Wanderer and Dreamer will likely pass.

The issue eith the clockatrice throughout is it seemed to be very bad at slowing or damaging enemies, but seemed way too good at assassination with paralysis and time stutter made it too survivable.
Everything said we needed a self sufficient heavy that can fight without corpses and deliver infantry and it wont be that. Not too sure i want to take something entirely for clutch assassinations, but maybe with longfellow and holden that will be bumps new metagame?

I'm trying to get excited for it, I know with Grymkin being a limited release. Any release should be exciting, but just looking his rules I cant any spot for it in any lists. Have to wait and get some table time.
