Had a game with him on Saturday (battle report here) and it's pretty much as expected: Reposition is quite great to get back into formation and/or annoying places after charging, Practiced Maneuvers is nice for quality of life, but is not really needed and Serpent's Coil does nothing unless facing an infantry based melee army. far2casual did have some success with Serpent's Coil to keep the Doom Reaver horde at bay. If released as is, I will play him from time to time, but at 4 points it will be a hard sell.

Gained Takedown for Week 3... thoughts?
Bit skornergistic for some casters which is a annoying, but other popular DH casters probably won't mind... (just a case of whether they'd want Knights in the first place...)

Gained Takedown for Week 3... thoughts? Bit skornergistic for some casters which is a annoying, but other popular DH casters probably won't mind... (just a case of whether they'd want Knights in the first place...) Well, it does give them a clear niche, which the Officer failed to do before, so that's a good thing. It's of the appropriate power level to replace Tactics: Practiced Maneuvers and be worth 4 points. Except, the Skornergy is what bugs me and I'm not sure if it's worth it over having Practiced Maneuvers (which was nothing more than a QoL improvement really) I should get a test game in with Terminus tonight, but I'm already sure that my list will be worse for it. It steals souls on his feat turn and there's nothing I can do about it. I have to take a max unit instead of 2 min to spare the points (I run all the min units to be safer against debuffs and to have more options of where to go) and have to downgrade one of my Stalkers. We'll see though. I just hope they can get enough feedback on all these changes before the cycle ends tomorrow.

The obvious answer to skornergy is “so don’t take it with those casters”. I’d rather see an ability that is useful in some lists and basin others, rather than a minor convenience all the time or an auto include.

Casters like Asphyxious 2 would appreciate Reposition and possibly Serpent's Strike, but if he puts down his Soul Reaper on them, he won't get any souls still. Same deal for Scaverous. Terminus probably wouldn't take the CA anyway, I agree. Sure, they get better with Skarre 1 & 3, but I'm not sure we needed that?

Takedown gets around tough, right?

Takedown gets around tough, right? It does. It does two things: ignore Tough and RFP at the Boxed stage. The latter is what stops you collecting corpses and souls.

Grievous Wounds, job done... -_-
Though I worry about the damned EI lists and their recursion... which raises the question: just how much recursion is there in the meta that RFP is worth sacrificing the flexibility of souls for?

Like I said, it is a decent niche, but I fear it will conflict too much with what the theme does in general and just feels so awkward on the unit. I'm not a fan of this Grievous Wounds flavor of the month... What did they say on the dev talk? I missed it.
