Well, looks like Dark Host is going to be played a touch more in light of the Fall Cornucopia soon to go live.
Anyone else psyked for the new CA and going to test the guy out?
In all honesty, though, the sculpt is nicely detailed, but stupidly posed. Oh sure, it's an undead thrall of sorts, but why does it need to be pointing like that? Is it trying to copy Calandra or something?!

It's obviously trying to make it as difficult as possible to put into Wall of Steel I will definitely give him at least 1 test run, my regular CID partner will be excited for the Paladins anyway. I don't think they will tweak much in Dark Host itself though, for anyone wondering. This is only a 2-week cycle and it looks like they're already pulling Wolves of Winter in. Besides, Dark Host is functional and popular, so if anything, I can see a slight change to the Warrior CA to not make it a no-brainer over the Knight Officer or to make the points work out better.

Oh, I don't expect them to change DH at all, honestly, since, as you mention, it's a solid theme and the Bane Knight CA is highly unlikely to shake up the way the theme plays or its intentions. Hopefully, it'll be set up that the Knight CA will be a solid competitor to the Warrior CA without needing to amend the latter, however (such is my hope).

To be honest, I'm still a little hopeful they will reevaluate Knights and Warriors slightly. This Officer being a single model will probably make him 4 points, that means a full unit will cost 19 and a minimum 13, which is really awkward to build with. During the Bane/Thrall CID, I was rooting for making the Knights 10/16 and giving them Combined Melee Attacks to justify the higher cost. This would turn them into a true toolbox unit, especially with Reposition added on from the CA. Then it could be justified to make the Bane Warriors 9/15 (they hit hard, but are slow as hell) and make the slightly overtuned Officer & Standard 6 points. You'll still take the latter for free until you take a third unit, which some people actually do. This basically gives you more/better slots of 20 (Riders/Knights+CA) or 15 (Wraith Engine/Bane Warriors+free CA) to build with.
I highly doubt they're looking to implement changes like this though, but we'll see.

This is the first I have heard of the knight CA, where is the list of things coming out located if you don't mind me asking? I am not on social media at all, so if its facebook, I will be sad.

Stuff like this is most often either announced at Privateer Press events or on their Twitter and/or Facebook. It's also often leaked from emails that suppliers get about coming releases. This is also often done through Facebook or other channels the various fan sites use. The official release schedule can be found here and there used to be an unofficial/spoiled one here, but it looks like it's no longer being maintained. This particular model was actually spoiled at Lock & Load and here is the thread where it was discussed on this very forum. And this is the tweet that announced the upcoming CID tomorrow:

Thanks for the picture Gamingdevil. The pose looks pretty par for the course for banes, nothing too flashy, fits the theme. Looks like he is in charge. I am looking forward to getting one.

Granted: Reposition 3" Tactics: Practised Maneuvers Mini-feat: Serpent's Coil
MAT 7
Otherwise, see base unit...
Well, I'm... a little underwhelmed to be honest, but we'll see. Also, CMD5?! Checking if this is a mistake.

If he is a command attachment, he should be at least command 9. Command 5 would make the unit unplayable.

It's obviously trying to make it as difficult as possible to put into Wall of Steel That's kind of a theme with models that have Wall of Steel, Defensive Line, Shield Wall or whatever logical reason they have to be put in B2B: They don't wanna.

It feels like it is worth a little less than 4 pts, but certainly more than 3. Not sure it lifts the base unit enough over Warriors, but still a good addition to the Knights.
I like it, pretty much what I expected. Curious to see it through playtests though - it should be pretty resilient to infantry on defensive strike turn, and give light warbeasts or damaged heavies something to think about. Practised maneuvers and Repo3 will make them a bit easier to get around as well. However not sure how we value 4pts of pure support nowadays - sort of thought he might have a different weapon to think about.
Again, not sure if it will change the unit or turn it up enough, but want to see how it plays on the table.
