And they'll probably be back with a vengeance in a few months time once everyone stops teching for Cygnar .

6 weeks ago was WTC, where cygnar was bottom tier. So If everyone stopped teching for them, they should be top at clogcon. 😀

Player skills matters of course. If Dunford would play Cygnar...

Cygnar is on the bottom of the power rankings now, imo. It lacks answers to the meta currently while also not having a depth of options.
Will take some time for Cygnar to come back, probably will require some rebalancing work.
The only really viable tournament lists currently is Haley 3 being backed up by something like Nemo 3, Siege 1 or Stryker 2. None of the backups are hugely potent on their own and Haley 3 is extremely punishing to any mistakes so its no wonder that tournament results are lacking for Cygnar.

On the bright side, when our 2nd cid finally comes along we have more justifications for comparisons and buffs that won't automatically be met with "but Nemo 3 .../but Haley 2..."

You have far more optimism than I do. Lots of entrenched Cygnar hate and PTSD. I saw a thread on facebook recently where people talked about what they thought were the best colossals in the game. The Stormwall came up more than the Judicator. It felt like it was 2014.

Sorta an odd queation but does cygnar have any casters who can enhance unit damage.
Out of my quick reference ive found haley 1, seige 1(feat only), blaze 1 (morowin only).
I will admit my list pairing right now is Stryker2 in storm division (leveraging huge amounts of p+s 17 infantry charges) and a toss up between sloan 1 or caine 1 in gravediggers.
But i am going to break free of the theme crutch and make a sons of the temple list once i find the caster type i need

Siege2 and Stryker3 both have Fury, if melee output is what you're asking about. Stryker3's feat is also all about melee damage output, but requires a charge.

Didn't the same thing happen to Cygnar at the end of MKII when box spam became the norm? We've always lacked the tools required to deal with that kind of meta and now its everywhere:
- Maelok - Protectorate cinerators/bastions - trolls - Tharn - cryx with bane rider lists and slayers - Legion with ogryn - Grymkin Skin and Moans - Ossrum
Basically all of the big players right now that are seeing success are the factions that can effectively box spam. Sadly there's no room there for old swans trying leverage long range pow 10s.

Yeah feels a little like the mark.2 meat mountain struggle. But back then we hadde some control casters which could set up some favorable trade offs or make our expensive models hit twice before dying. But it was a struggle even back then.
I think we have casters which still work into those matchup, but i miss the good backbone units and warjacks ( outside gravediggers).

Ogren Assault Corps + Murdoch + Arcane shield? That's a bunch of range 12 POW 12 AoE3 attacks... They threaten 20 with assault!
(yeah, I'm grasping)

Hehe. Ogren assault troop.... At least it would be a unit no one has seen. But doesnt see it as an answer to anything. Normal gun mages with kiss is also pow 12, and you dont see them dominating the meat mountain lists.
And with theme machine thats a lot of net points which eat up your free points.
Cygnar once was the faction of control casters/good casters, and combined army with strong shooting. For other troops we had to go to mercs. We have lost the strong control, and shooting is weaker at the moment. Mercs units it out the window unless you want the Ayana Holt package. Sadly i think we need a rework on some core units/jacks/themes.
Thats gravediggers excluded.
