So, the Secret Masters theme in Circle now runs as many Minion units of any type and gets free solos for it. While I'm happy for circle players getting an unusable theme improved (and I still see little reason to run Druids) I'm really hoping for a Minions infantry theme to let the Pigs and Gators play together...
I'm trying to convince my housemate to run the theme, so that my Brigands can see table time until Thornfall gets a CID cycle. I think Kromak1 has the least Friendly Faction buffs of the allowed casters, and could be a good choice.

Yeah every faction needs the 'irregulars' theme equivalent in their army.

Every army has an irregular theme. It's called not taking a theme ;-)
Honestly WWfF is the 2nd best theme to irregulars so I'm more than happy with that. Blindwater and thorn are also quite open choice themes if you compare with other armies. Pigs will be getting their cid one day.

Pigs have taken leaps in viability since MKII. I think we all remember how they only saw table under masochistic snowflakes, or skilled players that enjoy handicaps. It's only the fact that Gators rose along with them that is taking the shine away. Looking at the faction, Arkadius is one leg of a strong faction pairing, and Sturm+Drang has even entered the picture as a viable choice.
A Thornfall CID with new releases would of course be a good thing, but compared to where they once were, Pigs are in a great place.

Kromac 1 is a beast caster who loves Warpath, which needs Faction models. I'd recommend Kreuger 2, Tanith, or Morvanah 1.

WWFF is a great mixed beast+character infantry theme. Would love to see a noncharacter infantry focused counterpart that lets us mix noncharacter infantry units and allows for the (largely noncharacter) solos and support units, and provides some sort of necromancy-themed benefit. Midas and Helga would love to be able to mix brigands, ambushers and shamblers for instance.

I think that's pretty unlikely, not being 'thematic.' I'd like it too (that's basically my Midas non theme list) but we don't want faction variety ruined by an Irregulars equivalent either.
Circle can go ahead and take minion units in their theme if they want, our complaints about it in Skorne wasn't really about the units (with taskmasters) but the beasts. I think Secret Masters still isn't a very good theme.

I had an idea for a theme called "Desperados" where Minions could borrow a few warlocks and units from other factions. IIRC, Grim Angus worked with some of the Minions characters when he was a bounty hunter and still has friends among them. Among Trollkin, the Highwaymen seem the most logical choice for a unit to borrow, and Braylen and Jarl are part of their group. As a bonus, it might be neat to have a very similar mirror theme in Trolls called "Highwaymen." And there would be a new warlock to go with it- a farrow bandit king! I keep thinking that there is somebody in Skorne of all places who could be wrangled into the theme, but I'm drawing a blank right now.

Kromac 1,2 Wurmwood, and Iona cannot play secret masters because they are not blackclads.
Mohsar, Morv1, and Krueger2 seems like the best candidates so far as very very little of thier kit requires FF.
