Has anyone ever stated to you why they don't take advantage of our forum here? I've heard a couple podcasts lament the loss of the PP forums lately, and have heard similar from players. Yet, when I suggest this as a resource I'm met with a complete apathy about signing up.
I'm not pushing for similar size to the old PP forums (they could get pretty toxic at times themselves) but it does seem like anybody really invested in the game would find it to be a useful tool.
I guess I just don't understand the "meh" attitude when the FB groups are so largely disliked as a forum for actual conversation.

The facebook groups seem to be pretty active, but personally I find it annoying that between facebook, reddit and these forums, all the discussions are so fragmented. Most people that know about these forums and don't sign up that I know of, seem to think/assume that it's the "toxic" part of the community that migrated here and that it's mostly an echo chamber here. Which is sometimes true I guess, but that's what you get when there's like 3 active members per faction board

I think part of it is that it is precisely because this place is comparatively inactive that people don't bother...
A lot of various denizens of whatever online community are generally after instant responses, and a lot of threads here are typically slow-burn discussions that build up, but take a while to get going.

I suppose that's true. I feel like we get a lot more useful/innovative information out of the back and forth as opposed to the shotgun blast method on social networking sites though. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Depending on your faction, Discord is arguably the best place to discuss the game these days.

This has been my experience also. It doesn't help that Podcasts have put this forum way down in the totem pole due to the amount of reactionary, negative, toxic, echo-chambery posts with little moderation. Frankly not much has been done to dispel that perception, but I'm just glad that the Khador forum is active enough to get me through a workday. What I would really want is a Forum that pushes open and objective discussion with stricter rules. Think the way CID is handled now, but open to all factions and models, zero wishlisting, zero shitposting, just discussing the game as it stands and looking for solutions with the tools at hand.

Sadly people got spread out when PP suddenly shut down. Between facebook general, the faction specific Facebook and forums.

I've actually found the Troll forum to be really good (where I spend most of my time). It doesn't get terribly contentious that I've seen. It can be a bit echo chambery, but I've seen people go off into the weeds as well. I've actually been really impressed with Lormahordes since coming over here, at least the faction pages. Maybe I missed a kerfuffle somewhere along the way.....

I've never heard of 'negative' for Lormahordes but that may be from lack of going anywhere else (I came, I liked, I stayed).
I can say that I follow my faction's facebook page but I RARELY post anything. From my experience there, it is more toxic than the PP boards could ever be. I understand why PP would encourage activity there (free exposure/networking) but it provides very little value to me.
I'll look into Discord though.

I understand why PP would encourage activity there (free exposure/networking) but it provides very little value to me. I follow... several faction pages with a couple of... exceptions, one more notable than the other. While I'd like to say it depends on what your faction is, I'd instantly backtrack and say they are quite similar in how hot and cold they can run. It's a fairly even mix of 'I'm a n00b, help me out... plus mostly productive input', 'list pair dojo of varying amounts of competitiveness', 'lookit mah paintjob', 'event soon, wish me luck/done an event, here's how I did', 'heh lulz meme', and a small amount of high-pitched whining about CID or something else. Problem is, the whining posts generally get most responses (the chair and popcorn/eye rolling/here we go/lol wut etc. gifs really don't help) and turns into an utter turd-show more often than not. Another problem is that (often multiple) examples of this stick in EVERYONE's minds despite the efforts of the rest of the group, though admittedly some don't help in this, however unintentionally.

I've heard people don't like my moderation in particular. I have a couple of stalker trolls on Vassal and 4chan (not the blue ones, the guys that only stir up trouble on the internet). Apparently they don't like I became a moderator because I kissed up to staff? I wasn't even trying to be one, I just didn't want the only non-blocked warmahordes forum at the time to die because of people being Urani while mods weren't looking.
Also dogganmit swamp, the technical term would be Uranii nor Urani.

Khador board is generally good, but a bit quiet at the moment - the post-AC excitement has largely gone and with the new PP schedule that might mean a long wait for very new topics of conversation that are purely directed to the faction. This might be one of the problems with faction-specific fora now - there aren't necessarily new toys every year to provoke more discussion.
Mercs board is quieter, but that was the case on the PP forum too. Just a pity that one of the most frequent posters enjoys making his (sometimes substantively good) posts annoyingly difficult to read.
And this shows part of the problem of fragmentation of discussion. I don't even know what Discord is (more accurately, I know what it is as an abstract noun, but not in the sense used by jediguru), and would therefore never have known to look for it.

Khador board is generally good, but a bit quiet at the moment This is a bit the problem with most of the faction boards in my experience. Across all of them, there's actually quite some activity, but when you only play one or 2 factions, you run out of content soon. I sometimes peek into other faction boards to see what's up, but as I don't play them, I don't tend to stick around very long.
