Now, it seems, I am also a cryx player... I have recently come across a bunch of models for WAY less than they should have gone for, and I could not resist...
What would be fun 75pts lists to work towards, especially with Deneghra1 and the Witch Coven of Garlghast? Any theme is open, and doesn't have to be world-tournament-class powerful.

Any hints about what the cheap models you're starting from are? Might be a good guide to your first theme force.
Deneghra1 can work with basically anything - probably more into Infantry than jack lists, and I feel banes are often overkill for her. Satyxis, Slaughterfleet, Ghost Fleet, or even Infernal machines would probably be best for her.
Less familiar with Witch Coven, though they are looking for stuff that is already hard hitting and need help with delivery. I suspect Banes, Slaughter Fleet or black industries would work well with them.

I got the mk1 starter kit (deneghra1, deathrippers, slayer), coven, satyxis raiders, blackbanes, pistol wraiths, and a few other models I can't recall off the top of my head. A nice start but needs work to make work

Hmm, not much to go on, 2 units exclusive to 2 different themes.
I would build towards ghost fleet or satyxis depending how you feel. Denny will do great with either, and your units are key parts of both.

if you aren't really looking for top tier quality then you can string together most units with denny1. she kind of polishes all turds; that being said, she also makes good stuff great, she pretty much acts as a force multiplier for offense.

I played around a bit with the statistyx, and thought the following would be fun;
Deneghra1 (Scourge of the broken coast) -Deathripper -Deathripper -Deathripper -Slayer -Reaper -Satyxis blood priestess Agiara Wraithblade Severa Blacktide Satyxis Raider Captain Blood Witches (max) -Blood Hag Satyxis Raiders (max) -Sea Witch Satyxis Gunslingers Satyxis Gunslingers
Probably gonna build for that... how about the Coven? Dark host...? Other theme?

That does look like a fun list, and Deneghra should make it sing. You were wise to put three arc nodes in, because the support that deneghra brings with her debuffs is key and she doesn't want to get too close to do it.
As far as the coven goes, they want self sufficient units that hit hard, or models that hit hard that need help being delivered. Like all of our heavy warjacks, or banes probably work best with them. Either Black Industries or Dark Host are probably their best themes. The coven excels at delivering things and getting them to where they are not supposed to go. Their feat is also one of the only things that can block line of sight to a huge base model, so they can actually protect wraith engines or a kraken for a round.
Our heavy warjacks are fast and even though they have a higher defense than most, DEF 12-13 isn't going to really protect them from accurate shooting and they tend to lose arms to boosted POW 10-12's. Though black industries also gives carapace to our heavies, so that really shores up that weakness as well, regardless of caster.
Banes are more survivable than they used to be even without stealth, but the coven can cast occultation and give it back to them and their feat almost guarantees an alpha strike when used right. Banes hit hard but are a bit slower and less accurate than some of our other options like satyxis. But Banes like to hunt heavy warjacks or multi-wound units, where the satyxis really want to be hunting other units.

Looks good to me for a fun afternoon. Noteworthy items. The witches are super squishy and want to keep their distance. They are spell slingers so having 2-3 arc nodes is a must. You may even want to consider dropping a slayer for another one. Up to you, as its how much work do you want the witches to do versus the army. Oh and everything is measured from the egregore and the witches are not a unit, so they can be anywhere on the table you want. Just be careful of kill box.
Bane warriors are ghostly so against a unit that had curse of shadows on them, they can move through the front line unit with no free strikes and turn to get back strikes increasing their accuracy and ignoring things like shield wall or other front arc only techniques.
Infernal machine wants to be cast on something with reach and a lot of attacks. The reaper may do, the seether may do in a pinch. Ideally, something like a harrower would be used for that, or even a kraken, but use what you have. The 2" reach of the reaper and buying attacks can clear a lot of stuff out.
I am not sure if you will get much mileage out of the necrotech as if a jack does start to get damaged, they usually don't last long enough to get repaired, though collecting the scrap tokes and sending them back out as scrap thralls is fun.
Don't forget about your recursion with tartarus and the bane warrior UA. It would be good to keep tartarus near that unit for the +1 to hit buff and his ability to add grunts to the unit whenever he does kill something living and warrior sized. He cannot bring back the horses: small based only.
Bane riders take some practice as they are fast and pretty hard hitting and accurate, but you are better off sending them against infantry as they will not last long against hard targets. Try and pair up the warriors into those, and the riders into infantry.

Yeah, I've read that pretty much everywhere XD I will probably end up getting them killed a bunch of times... Then again, my main faction is PoM, so I know how to keep my casters safe. I figured out that trick quite quickly. I know a few people who will hate me for that. ^_^ I was contemplating adding a harrower but... I do not like the look of those things. Plus, the speed buff is more relevant than the actual hit buff vs living. And man, do seethers like speed buffs. I just added him cos I had points left. You never know when those scrap thralls are gonna come in handy. I know all about bane recusrion. I've been on the receiving end of that stick more times than I like to recount... it will be good to be on the right side of it for a change. Those were the biggest wildcard I threw into the list. I like the models, I like cavalry in general, and I think they can be NIGHTMARES with the coven. But I've never played with or against them, so we'll have to see if it works out.

If you’re looking for 2pts of filler, I’d go machine wraiths in dark host. They are amazing little scenario contesters, occasionally turn the game hugely on a possession, and can surprise people with a pow12 charge attack on a solo.

Good call. They're also a little bit harder to remove, due to incorporeal... I like that.

To maximize your purchase usage, and echo the Deneghra1 approach, I would throw in that she's probably the best 'caster in the game to run out of theme. A generic turd polisher gets an opportunity to use synergies outside of theme not generally seen anymore.
