I picked up a second unit of Soul Hunters on the cheap at a lgs, and now that I have them I am stumped on their use. Who can make these guys shine, and what conditions? My initial thought is with skarre1 for accuracy and a feat that can help buff damage. How do you all use them?

They are generally accurate enough with up to 3 attacks where the charge attack is boosted and then you can boost further with souls. Skarre 1 can indeed use them well and they are usable with Denny 3 as well because of the soul interaction.
They have high threat ranges and can get to places they shouldn't with Incorporeal reposition 5. Anyone that can exploit that and lets them hit just a little bit harder can use them.

Eh... I haven't played them (not all that interested in IM...), but they strike me as being a great unit when they can get stuck in with flanking/hit 'n run tricks, but they need a delivery method as ARM 14 is kinda sad on an 18pt 5-zombie unit. DEF 14 stands up only so far, and there's enough that can either boost or get SnP/similar effects to really mess with them. Coven or another Occultation caster is best for them, because they otherwise have no problem what they do (mulch light/medium infantry), they just need to get there without extending your lines. Ghost Walk can be pretty neat, too.

They have two niggling problems:
1) Delivery. Their defensive stats are very poor (worst cavalry stats in the game, to be precise). This is a big problem since they have no ranged attack. an unboosted POW 12 on average dice kills one, it's really unpleasant. So your caster needs to make them more survivable somehow.
2) Poor theme. They're in Cryx's only bad theme, and there's no good reason to play a bad theme when Cryx has 5 (5!!) excellent themes.
In short, they're fun models for the odd friendly, but don't expect to see them tearing up the tournament scene any time soon. (A real tragedy imo, as they're some of my favourite Cryx models)

They're both pretty terrible, especially if the opponent can ignore Concealment. I'm just saying, they're not objectively the worst

Agathia (delivery feat+parasite) and Goreshade2 (occultation, mirage, recursion feat and a 19" threat range) should probably also be on the list of casters they work well with

I am going to have to buy him. Does he allow for a fully wiped out unit to be returned then? I M is definitely subpar but for right now I'm playing more casual games so I have been enjoying trying to get the zombies to work for me.

No, they have to be returned in formation so at least one model needs to be kept alive.
