That is like saying that Cuba is better than Cameroon at ice hockey. It might be technically true, but who cares? Scandinavian analogies for the win It is actually my own invention, so dont blame other Scandinavians for it hehe.

I really like northkin raiders on Borka1. Def15 is high enought to give enemy some problems to remove them. And after them they have to face def16 champions. conflictchamber.com/#c7201b_-0G07jniU6GfFj20ki-iZiZezj5iTbKTrollbloods Army - 75 / 75 points [Theme] Storm of the North [Borka 1] Borka Kegslayer [+28] - Dire Troll Brawler [16] - Rok [19] Fell Caller Hero [0(5)] Swamp Gobber Chef [1] Valka Curseborn, Chieftain of the North [0(6)] Krielstone Bearer & Stone Scribes (min) [6] - Northkin Elder [3] Northkin Bear Handlers & Battle Bears [10] Northkin Bear Handlers & Battle Bears [10] Northkin Fire Eaters [7] Northkin Raiders (max) [15] Trollkin Champions (max) [16] - Skaldi Bonehammer [0(5)]

I played Borka quite a lot at the start of mk3. If you’re interested in themes other than Storm of the North, fennblades are great with him. He can give them a 15” charge threat, and making them def 14 is fantastic. If you’re going to take them, make sure you take a chronicler too- all of his abilities go really well with them, especially feign death in a Borka list.
I always enjoyed taking a king with him, probably a mountain king in band of heroes, or a glacier king in storm. This is because he can give them a scary threat range, and protect them from offensive spells if necessary.
If you are looking at storm of the north, bears will love that threat range buff, and fire eaters too. Long riders are a great choice with him, and a good target for arcane ward, since they’re a larger unit than the bears. I’m not sure there’s a huge amount of synergy with raiders, I guess you could use mosh pit to knock something down, then throw bombs at it? They’re a good unit with any caster, so you will get good results with Borka, but I’m not sure he brings much that they’ll benefit from.

Raiders are afantastic frontline unit for borka. Give them arcane ward for turn 1 and 2 and they will soak up attacks for the reat of your army. Then you cycle it to your champions

Sorry guys. Separated my shoulder Saturday morning, so I won't be playing anything for the next few weeks at east. One handed warmachine is almost impossible. thank you for the all the ideas, I'll be sure to work some in when I come back to playing.

I dislocated my shoulder two years ago and had to undergo surgery to reattach everything in there. That type of syrgery apparently gets harder the longer you wait, and you are going to be using that shoulder for many many years ideally. There might be things broken in there even if the shoulder is sort of ok, and it wont nessecarily heal on its own.

Should be able to get games in a week or two at the latest. If I do a batrep blog I'm contractually obligated to call it "Bork Bork Bork" correct?

ARISE FROM YOUR GRAVE!! (old people will get it) So some physical setbacks and personal things kept my games from happening. But here is where I settled. conflictchamber.com/#c7201b_-0G07jnjoiU6G4kfJj20li-k8iZiZj5Trollbloods Army - 75 / 75 points [Theme] Storm of the North [Borka 1] Borka Kegslayer [+28] - Dire Troll Brawler [16] - Pyre Troll [8] - Rok [19] Fell Caller Hero [0(5)] Lanyssa Ryssyl, Nyss Sorceress [4] Northkin Shaman [4] Valka Curseborn, Chieftain of the North [0(6)] Krielstone Bearer & Stone Scribes (max) [9] - Northkin Elder [3] Lynus Wesselbaum & Edrea Lloryrr [5] Northkin Bear Handlers & Battle Bears [10] Northkin Bear Handlers & Battle Bears [10] Northkin Raiders (max) [15] Reasonably SotN standard to start this little foray with. If I'm careful with the Pyre he lets me have Borka as a late game heavy (output wise) making my two heavy build a little disingenuous. Bears are bears, Raiders are Arcane Ward targets, moving as a pod the battlegroup can be immune-ish to non-magical shooting. My last nine points are certainly flex, I ended up with Lynus and Edrea and a Shaman and I am in no way married to that idea. Lanyssa, although good, is also a potential cut point. Anyways, I have a play date into Skorne this weekend and maybe another game or two depending on crowd size. C+C is always appreciated, stay within the boundaries of Borka1 as the Warlock, I won't get mad at you, but I will ignore you.

Looks solid list. I like to have champions as well, but that costs pyre and max stone. If you take pyre, fire-eaters are always good pick. Lanyssa is really good solo on SotN as she could hold flag on stealth, but I would still prefer Fire-eaters+feralgaist is stead of lanyssa and L&E. But both have their use.

I'm probably crazy, but I think Borka1 likes the Hooch Hauler with Raiders. Knock things down and rain alcohol on them. Also the bonus +1 to attack rolls is nice.

You might not be crazy but; I own no battle engines at this point (they weren't a thing when I first played Trolls in early mkii). And I've had to buy a lot to get back up to speed and certainly don't have the single most expensive piece that PP produces. Lastly, and this is purely a personal bias I understand, I find the giant alcohol wagon aesthetic to be stupid as hell. Which won't make me NOT buy it, it's just going to tumble way down the list behind other things I like more. I could always drop L+E and the Shaman for Fire Eaters and...... swamp gobs? I dunno, maybe. Get this weekends test games out of the way and see how it goes.

So. I played into Rasheth Wings of Death (?) twice and Gaspy SLayers. Lost to Rasheth both times. The first because my opponent knew the list waaaay better than me and just systematically destroyed my army. We reracked and the second was closer. A couple rusty misplays on my part and maybe I bring it back around? Not sure.
Other was against Gaspy Slayers. The rust was pretty knocked off and I played as cagey as I could. Bears made good work of keeping him central and then eating a slayer each when they went too wide. All said they took three down between them. Brawler got one plus a bit, Rok got two with a charge attack, screen with what was left of Raiders and then some good dice. I managed to get an angle on Gaspy at the end with Borka but my Pyre was a bit too far to the right to keep a Slayer off me the previous turn and I couldn't juice up. A solid camp on Gaspy and some lackluster dice leaves him on 5-ish. I die in retaliation. Any other contributors were mostly just chip damage and screening to keep good slayer charges off my heavies.
I liked it, definitely need some more play time. Really want to rework the nine points mentioned above.

Rasheth 'Winds' of Death I believe.
Cycling through my TB Warlocks (again), last week I played this against Rasheth WoD (1 Turtle/lots of shooters): [Theme] Storm of the North [Borka 1] Borka Kegslayer [+28] - Dire Troll Mauler [15] - Earthborn Dire Troll [14] Fell Caller Hero [0(5)] Fell Caller Hero [0(5)] Horthol, Long Rider Hero [8] Valka Curseborn, Chieftain of the North [0(6)] Krielstone Bearer & Stone Scribes (max) [9] - Northkin Elder [3] Northkin Bear Handlers & Battle Bears [10] Northkin Bear Handlers & Battle Bears [10] Swamp Gobber Bellows Crew [2] Trollkin Long Riders (min) [12] Trollkin Long Riders (max) [20]
I fully expected to lose, but I wanted to attempt to live the dream of super distance Bull Rushes. Didn't make one Bull Rush all game, but did win it (!?!) One set of ambushing Bears tore into a unit of Reivers, 3 charging LRs and 1 Bear/Handler take out the Turtle. Unmounted Horthol and Valka one shot a Cyclops. Good damage rolls! Borka's pathetically small Control Range didn't help his Feat to accomplish much. Never needed Moshpit as opposing shooters stayed away, and didn't miss much of anything MAT-wise. Surprising how DEF 14-18(when engaged) Arcane Warded LRs under KSB aura have some staying power vs. shooting. Well, staying long enough to prevent direct Turtle-melee/or Rasheth magic attacks against Borka. Overall I'd rate Borka1 as 'clunky'. Tactician added to his slam/charge encouraging Feat would tune up his fun score a lot.
