Welcome to my brain dump thread. I have literally spent sleepless hours working on dealing with stupid Man-o-War. So I wanted to throw out everything in writing so maybe it can help others.
First encounter
Sorcha 3 versus Kallus 2 PT
Severly one sided match. Overrun oriented list that saw Golab and Seraph crit stationaried and shattered. But Sorscha got too far up field. I took it on the chin with Kallus (counter charged by Beast 09) to engage/stop said Beast 09. Carni assaulted to light S3 on fire. Blightbringer made the charge distance and smooshed the lady in the metal suit.
Second Encouter
Butcher 2 into an out of theme Kallus 2 that was to be an assassination vector list.
Ended quite horribly. Everything went down hill when Proteus with overrun got stationaried on the very first retaliatory strike. Otherwise I might have had a game.
So I tech'd up with what I thought would be a reasonable answer with an ADR caster in an ADR theme. Lylyth 1 in Oracles.
Throne to deal with shocktroopers. Ravagores to try and pick off drago and soften up Drakhuns.
Lo and behold the list changed entirely for the better (on his part) and just legitimately flipped me the bird.

So the new tech that ruins my day is that now he has ghost walk, clouds, and a 14" ctrl range no charge no shooting zone. Also Tankers. F*** Tankers. They are ridiculous. Free models that can put in massive ranged damage to Warbeasts/jacks and even more damage into huge bases? Or models that can roll 2d3 boosted attack rolls to murder infantry. And both have dual attack and arm 21, 10 boxes? AND they advance move thanks to the theme?! GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!! So dumb.
So I'm completely in conflict with what possible options I have. I can't snipe out Drago thanks to bond of brothers. triggering vengeance while desperate pace is on the board is just ridiculous threat range. I can't HIT the demo corp without taking a hit in return. If I take a BE or Garg to be immune to the stationary and will survive the retaliatory strikes I get shot up by the strike tankers. If I take more infantry than retaliatory strikes the supression tankers roll a lot shots, sprays them dead, or drops covering fire templates to block my charge lanes. Add to that the infantry I could take to swarm would never be able to see through Z1's clouds.
Z1 is spell immune and has watcher. So trying to get an assassination might as well be impossible layered with her feat.
It's shaping up to be the perfect list. It just does everything it needs to do. It's getting more than a little frustrating.
Now, that said the Lylyth list was stomped and yet I was able to actually clear quite a lot of the enemy list. Literally handing over the throne to prevent a auto-knockdown watcher charge from the Grolar. Never getting a shot at anything from the Ravagores. I still held onto the game. Two shepherds killed 3 demo corp (2 charges, 1 free strike. Parasite).
So I think it still has a chance. Lylyth 1 would still give me a ton of game into other heavy infantry lists and relatively normal armor/jack lists. So I'd like to kep the idea going. But the only known time the player has lost with AC was literally against JVM's Anamag PT at Nova this past weekend... I do not want to have to turn to PT, much less Anamag. But PT itself does look like a valid option to work with.
Kallus 1 PT gives the bodies, just enough damage, and staying presence in the face of unreal attrition. Retaliatory strike Demo corp would only give me Incubii to activate on my turn. engaged incubii under feat would be extremely difficult to clear with suppression tanker shots, if I can position right their one spray would do just as much harm to his models as mine. Def 17 Arm 18/20 Kallus might mean I can commit to using flashing blade. Just have to stay away from the Grolar.
Rhyas 1 would give me a much better way of circumventing Everything that is being such a road block. Feat place effect circumvents the retaliatory strike and the shields + shield wall (going into the back arc). Occultation can keep the tankers off at least one unit of something. The problem becomes I cannot have Rhyas on both sides of the board at a time. So either I break the shield wall and eat the Ret strikes or vice versa. not both. Yet Z1 can still just throw a wrench into everything Rhyas want's to do by feating and or cloud walling. Where as Kallus can afford some losses on with a run/jam during Z1 feat, Rhyas cannot.
