Finally writing up a game from 2 weeks ago.
Legion vs Skorne The Pit II:
The lists:
Legion: Kyrssa OoA: -Archangel x2 -Shredder Throne Full Hex hunters + Bayal Sorceress & Hellion x2 Shepherds
Skorne: Zaal1 Exalted -Mammoth AGs x Hakaar Novitiates x2 Abidan Full immortals + UA x3
Deployment: Skorne won the roll and chose to go first.
Skorne:
Legion: Ashen Veil started on the hex hunters, repo on the throne. BFS actually weren’t in the list and were removed after the picture was taken.
Round 1:
Skorne: Central Immortals get IR, and mammoth gets awakened spirit and Zaal tosses out some souls. Then everything runs forward!
Legion: Hex hunters run up and spread out towards the left with a couple jamming some immortals. AAs head central, throne goes right with an S&H.
Round 2:
Skorne: Upkeeps both spells. Mammoth takes drifts some shots and kills a bunch of hex hunters, Immortals clean up the jamming models and move forward. One runs to jam the right S&H.
Legion: Drop both spells. Kyrssa feats and charges an immortal in the left zone and kills it. Tries to spray down a couple more but I misplayed and didn’t get an AA up with its animus up and can’t break armor. The AAs and left S&H clear the left zone and body block for Kyrssa. Hex hunters clean up more immortals and just barely scratch the mammoth with a battle wizard hex bolt giving it the +2 speed, oops. On the right the throne cleans up a bunch of immortals and kills the right ua with necrophage spells. I kill his objective and cap the left zone to gain 2 CPs 2:0.
Round 3:
Skorne: Zaal feats, and puts last stand on the leftmost AG. Said AG charges the left most AA and deals about ½ its life in all its attacks. On the right the remaining Immortals kill both the throne and S&H. Mammoth, Hakaar and Abidan go in to kill the right AA.
Legion: I go for a long shot assassination run against Zaal but nothing I need can get into range. I concede.
Victory to Skorne!
Thoughts: I still have no idea how legion is supposed to deal with Zaal1. With the Exalted theme and the new models they received makes it even harder. Who knew that Skorne with non-self-damaging arc nodes would be a thing?

Got a game in last Sunday at a new LGS. It featured pThag CoTD vs Rasheeth Exalted using the Invasion 2018 scenario.
This lists:
Legion: pThag CoTD: -Succubus -Azreal -Zuriel -Typhon Full Swordsman + UA Warlord Full Hex hunters + UA Spell Martyrs x3 Shepherds x2
Skorne: Rasheeth Exalted: -Mammoth AGs x3 Hakaar Full Immortals + UA x2 Min Immortals Supreme Guardian Swamp gobbers (proxy by will breaker and market) Abidan
Deployment: Legion won the roll and chose to go first, Skorne chose the side at the top of the pictures.
Skorne:
Legion:
Round 1:
Legion: pThag puts DB onto the hex hunters, fog of war, free dodge and charges into the rubble. Swordsmen+ua and warlord head to the right zone, hh+bayal head to the left. Beast run up the middle. Succubus moves up and puts a cloud on a swordsman to block LOS. Shepherds follow the beasts, spell martyrs spread out.
Skorne: Mammoth waddles forward and drifts some shots killing a handful of swordsmen. All the immortals get +2 def and run forward. Rasheeth puts carnivore onto the left immortals and castigate and moves forward. Channels a caustic mist through a left immortal and kills a hex hunter.
Round 2:
Legion: I upkeep both spells. Rasheeth is in range of Zuriels sprays, but I can’t get an assault+quick work angle lined up so I don’t go for it. So Zuriel and the hex hunters go in on the left unit of immortal and kill all but 4+ua with most of the souls going to the SG and AGs, Zuriel puts up dodge. Swordsmen on the right charge in and kill a couple right immortals models and overtake back into the zone. Typhon runs up to the building, Azreal moves up through the forest. Succubus drops another cloud to block los to Thag. Right spell martyr runs up and to get LOS to the right immortal UA. Thags moves up to the edge of the rubble and channels an obliteration at the right immortal ua. Kills the two immortal in front of it and flubs the damage roll to leave the ua alive. Puts up excessive healing camping 0 in the rubble.
Skorne: He upkeeps both spells. Mammoth lumbers forward and pops all its shots a thag, boosting up to 4 fury and dealing about 6 points to Thag who heals 3, one shot drifts and kills a swordsman. Rasheeth moves up and feats. Right and left immortals vengeance forward killing a hex hunter and the two swordsmen in front. Right immortals go incorporeal and charge into the back line swordsmen and kill a handful. Left immortals do the same and kill a couple hex hunters. Abidan and the SG kill zuriel along with a couple immortals from the center unit. Hakaar runs for a good position next turn, along with the AGs.
Round 3:
Legion: Most of my army is under feat. I upkeep DB and drop fog. Succubus moves up and influences the right immortal ua to shoot the mammoth, at dice +1 I rolls snake eyes for damage. Thag moves out of the rubble to hit the mammoth with Twisted flesh, making it maxed out on fury. Typhon then walks around the building and puts 3 sprays into the immortal by the building. It clips one other immortal, the objective and Rasheeth. I actually manage to not kill the targeted immortal with all 3 sprays and boost the hit/damage on Rasheeth to kill him.
Victory to Legion!
Thoughts: Twisted flesh is a new spell for pThag and caught my opponent unaware since this is the first time he has played against pthag in mk3. I should have played the lottery after that assassination run, if I had killed the immortal in front of Typhon with any of the first two sprays my assassination run would have been much harder. Luckily my dice failed me at just the right time and I was able to get off all 3 sprays and put the fat man into the dirt.

My most frequent opponent has changed their working schedule so we can actually get more regular games in yay! Last night we decided to start running 50 point games instead of 75 point games. This, we hoped, would allow us to get more games in one night than if we did 75 point games. The first game of the night was a 50 point match up featuring Anamag in PT vs eCaine in Gravediggers. We used the 2018 The Pit 2 scenario.
The lists: Anamag PT: -Ammok -BlightBringer (proxy by AA since I’m still painting it) -Harrier Warchief Warmongers + Gorag Warspears + Warchief Hellmouth
Cygnar:
eCaine Gravediggers -Ace -Charger -Defender -Squire Min Commandos Max Trencher Infantry + 3 wa + UA Finn Taryn Patrol Dog
Deployment: Legion won the roll and chose the side with a nice wall, the trench in the middle of the board is a building.
Cygnar Deployment:
Legion Deployment:
Round 1:
Cygnar: Most things run forward. I placed the hellmouth just a smidge too far up the board and his charger (with Fire for Effect) and Ace shoot it off the table. Everything else runs to the right zone and spreads out.
Legion: Warspears get Bond and everything bricks up the center. Warspears in front of the BB, with the Mongers on the left. Anamag shifts behind the forests and BB. BB took a shot and it drifted to kill 3 trenchers including one wa.
Round 2:
Cygnar: He upkeeps FFE and hands out none. This turn dice really failed him vs the high arm of my models. After all his shots from his jacks, Taryn, and both units of Trenchers, I’ve lost one warmonger and 3 health on a warspear.
Legion: Warmongers vengeance towards the two light jacks. Warspears vengeance and kill 3 of the trencher infantry. We start to talk about my turn and he concedes. The shear amount of armor and boxes on my side of the table against all of his un-boosted pow 11s was going to end badly for him. So we called it there and set up for out 2nd game.
Victory to Legion.
Thoughts: 50 point lists are a whole new animal when all you’ve been building are 75 point lists. It almost feels like it is easier to get skewed match ups like the game above. Granted his damage dice rolls were fairly far below average, but he was regularly shooting into dice -6 to dice -10. So un-boosted shots really weren’t going to do much except trigger vengeance.

Game 2: Another 50 pt game using The Pit 2 scenario featuring eThag PT vs Kraye Heavy Metal!
The lists:
eThag PT: -Typhon -Serpah -Golab -Ammok Chosen Hellmouth
Cygnar: Kraye Heavy Metal -Thunderhead -Centurion x2 -Hunter Caine0 -Ace Arlan
Deployment: Cygnar won the roll and chose to go first, I chose the same side as the previous game. Terrain was the same as the previous game, trench in the center was still a building.
Cygnar Deployment:
Legion Deployment:
Round 1:
Cygnar: Caine and Ace shift to the left onto the hill and kill a tentacle. Thunderhead gets admonition and moves up to the building in the center. Both centurions put up polarity shield and trample+repo forward. Hunter shifts up into the woods. Kraye moves up towards the center zone.
(missed a picture)
Legion: Seraph apparitions forward, hellmouth pops out another tentacle. eThag puts up slipstream, DB onto chosen and walks forward pulling Typhon up and swaps to excessive healing. He then boosts a spray into the Centurion in the center of the zone and gets the crit freeze, boost damage for a decent chunk. Chosen run forward with one going to engage Thunderhead who admonitions away, the rest spread out to be outside of walk+pulse range. Seraph puts up slipstream and advances towards the wall and slips Golab forward. Typhon walks forward and boosts damage on all his sprays into the stationary Centurion, taking out its shield and cortex, then puts up excessive healing. Golab shifts to the right some not wanting to spend any fury. Hellmouth shifts to have all tentacles in the center zone, picture was taken before the tentacles moved.
Round 2:
Cygnar: Caine hands out 1, kraye hands out a couple. Fire kills the centurion in the center, it only had a couple boxes left and the roll spiked. Kraye puts lock the target onto the hunter and admonition onto Thunderhead. He moves up and shoots at the hellmouth, not doing much, repos back. Thunderhead walks over and kills the lead most chosen and repos back. Caine and ace shoot at the chosen and deal a couple points after rapid healing. Hunter runs forward to get most models in the no-shooting within 5” range. The right centurion puts up polarity shield and runs back into the center zone.
Legion: Drop a tentacle behind the hunter, seraph apparitions to get golab within 2”. Chosen charge and kill his objective. Seraph shifts into the right zone and tries to shoot the hunter and centurion but miss due to engagement, slips golab to the left. The tentacle that was behind the hunter hits it and drags it to the maw, which misses both its attacks. eThag puts up MD and slipstream and moves to the right side of the maw, slipping Typhon forward a bit. Typhon walks up to the centurion in the center and buys/boost to full to cripple it but still leave it standing. Golab runs to the left zone. I gain 3 cps. 3-0.
Round 3:
Cygnar: He ends his turn and I gain 2 more CPs to wing 5-0.
Victory to Legion.
Thoughts: This list worked how I hoped it would. Thag and the seraph pulling Typhon and golab around and then sending them into juicy targets. Arm 19 chosen were a pain for my opponent, it took all of Thunderhead’s initials +2 bought attacks to kill one. My dice were on fire most of the game while my opponents were pretty cold. His list was a 50 point version of a 75 point Kraye list that he has ran before. We talked it over and he probably didn’t need the 2nd centurion and probably should replace it with a cheaper heavy hitter, possibly with a gun to benefit from the feat.

We still had a bit of time so we did a 35 point meat and metal match up with no scenario.
The lists:
eThag: -Seraph -Typhon -Golab -Neph Solider
Cygnar: eStryker -Ol Rowdy -Ironclad x3 -Charger
Deployment: I won the roll and chose to go first, my opponent chose the side he was on all night.
Legion Deployment: (missed picture here)
Cygnar Deployment:
Round 1:
Legion: Thags puts up DB onto himself, slipstream, aggravator and moves forward, pulling Golab with him, then puts up excessive healing. Seraph slips Typhon forward and moves up though the forest. Golab runs up to the building, with Typhon running up behind it. Neph runs to the wall, but can’t quite get to within 1”.
Cygnar: Everything runs forward! Charger heads to the left, ironclads make a wall in front of Stryker with Rowdy hanging back.
Round 2:
Legion: Upkeep DB. Seraph moves up and shoots the lead iron clad for a couple points. Neph hangs behind the wall. Typhon walks behind the building keeping LOS to the first ironclad and sprays it for decent damage. Thags puts up manifest destiny and walks over behind golab (with slipstream up) to move it forward 2”. Thags then sprays at the charger but is short. Golab puts up sprint and walks over to kill the front Ironclad and sprints back behind the building.
Cygnar: Since we decided not to play scenario, he is in a bad spot with me yo-yoing back and forth behind the building. He briefly contemplates destroying the building and we work out stats for it but he decides against it since even if he is able to kill it, he won’t be able to get Stryker onto ethag. Charger moves over and takes some shots at the seraph for decent damage. A ironclad runs to the wall by the neph. The rest bunker up around Stryker, who shifts the whole way across the board with normal movement+velocity.
Round 3:
Legion: Upkeep DB. Thag puts up slipstream and moves over to spray the ironclad by the wall but not getting the crit, Typhon gets moved forward. He puts up MD and feats. Seraph moves over and shoots the charger dealing a couple points of damage. Golab shifts to get LOS around the building. Typhon goes and kills the ironclad by the wall. Neph charges the ironclad by Stryker and deals decent damage. Feat happens and Typhon and the Neph both go into the ironclad by Stryker but can’t kill it and get the crit pitch. Golab and the seraph move to block paths to ethag.
Cygnar: Charger moves up and pops some shots at the seraph for more damage, knocking out its spirit. The ironclad by Stryker tremors, knocking down typhon and the neph and wails on Typhon for about 2/3rds of his life. Stryker rolls up a 10 for overpower and 5 for damage, one shots the neph and then finishes off Typhon. Rowdy runs to body block.
Round 4:
Legion: Thags puts up MD and slipstream and charges the Charger and kills it. Golab gets slipped forward, heals the seraph for 1 to get its spirit back. Seraph slips over and puts some shots into rowdy to damage it. Golab gets a charge into Rowdy and scraps it then maxes out fury to kill the ironclad.
Victory to Legion!
Thoughts: We really should have played with a scenario or changed the building to something else since it really crippled my opponent. I had so much mobility shenanigans that he was barely able to tie down any of my models and the only ones he actually killed were the ones I committed to melee. Between Golab sprinting and the seraph slip-streaming, this list is really hard to catch, not to mention the tank that is eThag at 14/20 stomping around the field.
