So im starting up Rask (WWFF) and only got 2 games in and need some feedback. Both games against Vlad2 armored corps. Im having a really hard time trading into all the medium inf. and I dont know if there is a way to play around all the Manowars but Im clueless.
The main issue as I see it, its hard to set up an effective alpha when for example Democorps have a walking threat of 11'. My opponent can place them in range of say 1 heavy, minifeat and be quite safe. Dragos and 2 demos takes down a heavy in return on Vlads feat. About the same issue with the shootier guys, HoF and pow14s boosting with Vlads focus wrecks heavies and on feat I have to stay more than 14' away from them.
It feels like its really hard to trade equally/up and attrition goes downhill fast. With advance move on basically all the Manowars they claim alot of the board turn 1.
Is this a really bad matchup or is there some way to actually play the match and have a fighting chance? Anyone played the Vlad2 matchup with Rask in WWFF?

It's worth noting that Arcane Might can only boost melee attacks and melee damage rolls. Unless there's some AC model I'm missing that provides boosts to Bombardiers you should be pretty happy if he burns his feat on getting shots into your feat. Good old Enliven and Admo helps plenty here.
Retaliatory strike Demo Corps with under minifeat and HoF is another beast. I think it's probably best to just let them be and try to focus elsewhere unless you can Veil + Shadowwalk into their back arcs with Brine or Snake or something. I'm pretty sure Bond of Brotherhood stops Overtake, but with a fully souped up pig you should do plenty of overkill so that actually getting use out of BoB gets pretty iffy.

After mulling it over I came up with a decent answer to the Demo Corp issue (unless I'm missing something that gives the demo corps steady): Lug.
Bear threats 11" and with his animus up he KD's the demo corp before Retaliatory Strike occurs. With Mat 7 and Fury up he hits on 3+ and does dice+3 damage on each swing. Return allows for creative repositoning after the charge so even if the dudes spread out you should be able to get to a second and probably overtake into a third. The sweet thing about Lug is that he's also cold immune so won't suffer from the crit freeze + shatter on the counterpunch.
In my Rask list I have some decent ranged options (Spitter, Skarath, Rorsh, Soul Slave) that can focus on the remaining demo corps and make BoB hopefully overflow. Especially Bone Shaker from Soul Slave is delicious if you tag a MoW that has already taken damage. They either let him die and have him advance + punch a buddy or distribute 3d-4 extra damage yum yum.
If you can alpha away like 4 demo corps on your feat I feel like you should be in a pretty good position from there on. Vlad will feat and you will lose stuff but it probably shouldn't be crippling.

Lug may not be the answer you are looking for as the Demo Corps UA has tactics defensive line so as long as they are base to base they cannot be knocked down. But your other fix of shoot them dead works very well

Ok, so push one dude 3" out first (the other option of Bear Hands) instead of knocking him down, then punch his buddy I guess #Lugisalwaystheanswer If they form a little triangle to prevent pushing I'd probably resort back to spoopy ghost pig in the back arcs.
