I can't remember what its called, but I saw there was a D&D-style game centered around the Iron Kingdoms. Has anyone played them? I'm curious if they're any good, I do like tabletop rpgs...

IKRPG is the current iteration of it. It uses d6 though. There is an older version that uses d20s.i haven't gotten to play it yet but I intend to.

It's pretty good. Feels very dynamic. I get pretty excited about the careers named for models in the game. There's actually a forum about it down below here in one of the unloved sections.

I highly recommend it, as building characters is easy and streamlined and there are a lot of choices and options. It did what D&D 4th edition failed to do. Instead of turning an in-depth role playing game into a minis game, this turns a minis game into a good RPG.
My friends and I have even taking the rules as a guideline for build your own casters and solos that we run story lines for each other leveling up our creations. It adds a whole new element to the game that really hits where we like it.

It is a pretty good game, however I would say that warlocks and warcasters are rather over powered in comparison to other players. Mostly because they get multiple and varied actions most turns, non warnouns get a single action.

I would say that a "skilled" archetype character can have multiple actions as well, or multiple attacks I guess it is. I found things to be pretty well balanced depending on the situation. The only ones to watch out for are the intelligent characters because they lack a bit in the offense department in a heavily fighting focused game. If your story requires a lot of role playing and skill checks, they shine a lot more.

Although IKRPG is same as most games, that you need to be a spellcaster or all you can do is either attack or move in the battle, but at least it have some kind of resource management....
Anyway, it's NOT D&D or d20, so there is no abominable vancian magic.... And it lacks the 'defensive check' as well.

Some of the options can absolutely feel a bit unbalanced, but I think a lot depends on the GM and encounter design. A skilled character with dual wield for instance can get a lot of attacks off each round, but is also likely to be a bit squishy if hit. All in all though our group had a lot of fun with it and I certainly recommend it.

Yeah there is also the need to houserule some stuff like the exemplar's chain attack smite. Since even though it is basically a cap stone for the knights exemplar seneschal build, which uses 2 relic blades. Chain attack smite only works with the hand weapon category weapons, which relic blades are not.
But outside of stuff like that I do heavy recommend the IKRPG.

Ikrpg is a good system, but it has issues. Namely too much focus on combat and not enough social mechanics and lack of published adventures. Jacks also kinda suck balls.

An intellectual rifleman with a heavy rifle or pistoleer with a hand cannon shoots at warjack levels of shooting power.

No thats when you have an open ook to play any eccentric personality you want and make the gm have to deal with social issues on the fly as technically no rules say you can not do something. Fyi the d20 system has social rules as it is stated to use the 3.5 players handbook for all classes

I'm mastering IKRPG to a group of RPG fanatics who spent most of their lives playing D&D, Vampire, Chtulu, Girsa, etc... And they are having a blast with it.
