I'm not saying there is a right or wrong way to play the game to get that out of the way first.
I've played in a very casual group for a couple of years now, and that is how I prefer to enjoy the game. That said with some player turnover recently and changing of attitudes the group has become much more focused on teching tournament list and practicing against other popular list. I'm beginning to feel a bit left out as i'm getting some pressure to stop playing my goofy fun list and play something more competitive.
Anyone have any advice for me and how I can survive as a casual in a competitive meta.

Only thing I can recommend is to plan your games in advance.
Ask someone to bring a list of similar power level as yours and set a time and place, it has been my experience that a lot of players will tailor their lists if you ask nicely (just don't expect this power level to be the default).
Of course, if your meta is taking the competitive route, you should really consider returning the favor every once in a while. It gets old to always having to be the one making concessions for the sake of someone else's fun.
You could also try to organize a League or Campaign, those are usually laid back.

In my experience you basically have to put your foot down and tell them you aren't going to change your lists but at the same time you need to expect that you're just gonna have to fight there tourney lists. In my store I'm pretty firmly established as the fluff-oriented guy but I'll play whatever tourney list anyone wants to drop. Everyone just understands that I'm not going to pay attention to my clock and I'm not going to build my lists with tournaments in mind. Works out for me because even when I tried to be competitive I'm just not that good so it didn't really effect the number of games I won.

Adjust
both expectations and behaviors. I'm a die hard casual. But the guys wanted me to go to the Steam Roller. So I did. I play out of theme weirdness but I also try to play with models they will be seeing in tournament lists. I started a thread on that line of reasoning specifically. But I fell off the meta bandwagon quite fast. It's just not my thing.
You have to understand that they will want to play more "meta" style list if you have them. So strike a balance. Play a meta list some weeks and weird stuff the next.
Try to really push for strategic plays some times, other times you can yolo and do something unreasonable.
But don't try to hold everyone to a single standard. That's a quick and easy way to alienate people. They will appreciate your attempt to play more the way they want so in turn they should play more lighthearted for you when things call for it.
Also; as said - organize a fluff campaign. Try to run caster draft or some of the holiday packets from last year. When you set the expectation that it's meant for fun. people (should) leave their try-hard hats at the door.

A few people offered up my idea. Fluff and leagues. Get your store to buy the kit for the league. It will incent people to play that way at least some of their games.

Thanks for the responses and advice. I think having two lists ready to play one of which is more competitive isn't asking too much as long as I can get games in with both lists.

Competitive play be damned.
The advice abouve is sound. My oppinion play only what you want. Dive into the rules for the jankiest things you can find and unload onto tourniment lists. (Seriously most tourniment lists have huge flaws no matter how good they seem). Learn to exploit the weakness and break the compeditive list idea.
Army has masses of 50 grunts (magnus 2 stealhead spam) Answer with sloan 1 in heavy metal
Sloan 1 Squire ×5 Cyclone ×2 Sentinal
×2 (min)longgunner units with officer and standard
Its a stupid list that has no tourniment presense but is great into rocketeers, winterguard, steelhead, magehunter really any single wound infantry spam list.
This is all an example play what you want. Not what others would like (unless you are stress testing a lists abilities)
