Hey all you undead people you! Soooo recently my small gaming group all went in on the mystery boxes and agreed that we’d swap if we got one that someone else needed. As the fates have it, each of their factions has a mystery box and I’ll be getting the Cryx one. Now I was tempted to sell it... until I realized it’s basically a theme force, and with the added Cephalyx models I have I could push it to 75 points pretty easy. Plus I’ve always been a fan of Gaspy 3’s look. So that being said I was wondering if the following list would be worth it.
Black Industries Gaspy 3 - Malice - Slayer - Reaper - Kraken - Rip-jaw - Rip-jaw - Night Wretch Cephalyx Overlords Cephalyx Overlords Machine Wraith
I only have to invest in Gaspy for the list and other wise I’ll have everything when the box shows up.

Is the malice a full jack, or just the upgrade kit? Otherwise yeah: it could work

Though just checked Cryx FB page - saw a photo posted of someone getting the new Malice / Corruptor / Reaper box. Wow, didn't think they'd be struggling to clear such a new kit,

It is the Corrupter / Reaper / Malice multi-kit.

so just checking again, but Gaspy 3 is a decent caster in the faction right? Also wondering about Goreshade 1. Though it would mean I have to invest in Banes :/ which are SUPER pricey for some reason... And how do people feel about the battle box caster?

Asphyxious3 actually became one of the best Casters in the faction when they changed how unyielding works back in the beginning of the year. Goreshade1 is alright, I just find him incredibly boring to actually play. Agathia is middle of the pack. She’s got great armor fixing, terrain fixing, delivery, & can fuel Desecrators in any theme. Her biggest weakness is survivability. 15/15 is an pretty weak stat line for a Warcaster who’s only defensive tech is her Feat.

I ordered my box last week but have not received any shipping info on it yet. It is the multijack kit for the reaper, which is probably what I would prefer of those three jacks (the reaper over malice or a desecrator). I have all three and I have 2 reapers all ready so I really don't need any of them.
Asphyxious 3 is a lot of fun because he is like a buff caster in a debuff faction with some movement tricks. He has a lot going on and can make our fragile jacks be able to take a decent hit.
Goreshade 1, they are right, he is pretty 1-dimensional, but he is strong in certain formats. Being able to just pop in a unit of weapon masters anywhere that ignore terrain and free strikes is a big advantage. His issue is that his big spell shadowmancer is something you will want to cast ever round and you wont be doing much else if it you. So he is kind of a one trick pony in that respect. If you do his other cool tricks, then you leave him vulnerable or lose offensive potential in your battlegroup.

A few thoughts about your list. Gaspy3 is strong in the theme. The strongest, by all accounts, really. I like the idea of most of your army being set to steal their guys and also drag them into places they don't want to be. This is going to be a very powerful combination in a game that relies so heavily on positioning. With Malice and Reaper out front to pull big guys in, you create a funnel so that anything in their reach gets pulled all the way back to your Kraken and Gaspy, who blend them up very well. The Slayer and Rip-Jaws can be out front to protect them or act as bait. The Overlords also have great sprays for anti-infantry, so that's covered. The real problem I see is that you've got 7 jacks and nothing but Gaspy to fuel them. That might get rough. Some Warwitch Sirens would help with that a lot. Perhaps -1 Ripjaw, -1 Machine Wraith, +2 Warwitch Sirens, +1 Soul Trapper. Or -1 Overlords, +2 Warwitch Sirens. It looks like a fun list in a casual meta.

I would go -1 Overlords -1 Machine Wraith for +1 Iron Mongers +1 Warwitch Siren. The Iron Mongers can keep your models fighting fit and Curse fixes its horrendous MAT. EDIT: "its" refers to the Kraken, in case that's not clear.

Yeah, Curse is also a good inclusion. Calamity does work to help hitting, but you're not casting that more than once or twice a turn.

So I like the suggestions, and I’m the future I may totally go for them! For now though, it’s good to know that even with no other investment I’ve got a decent-ish list. As of right now I don’t really have the funds for any other additions but now I know kinda where to go if / when I do

So I had the same idea, but when looking for Asphyxious 3 on Amazon I found one of the All-in-one boxes for cheap. So I should be off to a hell of a start. I'm pretty excited about running Black Industries and not giving a shit about free strikes.
Now to decide who to run the banes with. Anyone have any advice as to who would make for a good pairing? At a glance I'm intrigued by Terminus, assuming I can manage to swap out his muppet face. Though I'm not sure that Terminus wants the bane warriors, so maybe one of the Goreshades or Aiakos?

The Coven run Dark Host exceedingly well, judging by the number of times I've had my butt handed to me by them. They are good at delivering them.
Or was there some restriction I wasn't aware of?
