So in an effort to try and improve and to think more about my games I'm gonna try and write up my games. With that in mind please see two games I played yesterday:
Battle Rep #1
Una2 v kolgrimma, I won the roll and went first, scenario was the pit
My list
Una, 7 scarsfells, 2 purebloods, 2 goraxes, 2 wayfarers, 1 unit of stones and a wilder
His list
Kolgrimma, mauler, brawler, 2 champs- 1 with skaldi, 2 bears, fire eaters, valka and stone with northkin elder and a bog trog mist speaker
Terrain
Trench and fog cloud on my side of his zone and a forest on his side. Forest on my side of the circle zone, wall on his and a building in the middle a little towards me. Hill on my side of my zone and a building just outside zone on his side.
Turn 1
Circle: I run up and spread out, hand of fate going on left hand pureblood and mirage going on griffon hiding behind cloud.
Trolls: Move up and stay out of my threat ranges barring feat+hunters mark barring two models I believe
Turn 2
Circle: So yeah I don’t feat to get two models, instead I move out of ambush range of the bears and elusive everything with one griffon charging up to get in the way and generally be a pain. Una moves up to hide behind building and upkeeps both spells. I move the stones around to prevent some pushes from the coming feat.
Trolls: Bears ambush, one unit runs to jam the other kills my objective. Fire eaters go for a griffon and he proceeds to dodge three times like a champ so they do more damage to themselves than to me. Kolgrimma does land a spray on him and the suicide charge griffon and does some damage, she also feats. Skaldi and two other champs leave one griffon relative unharmed due to dodges and the other on one box. Valka goes to the far corner of his rectangle zone being really annoying. Other unit of champs durdle up and stone puts up aura.
Score 1-0 to Trolls
Turn 3
Circle: So lots to do this turn and I go into the tank trying to figure out how to do it. Easy things first, 1 wayfarer tries to hit valka with a hunters mark. Double 1s. Suicide charge griffon who is pleasantly surprised to be alive hits skaldi hard and after spreading out a lot of damage he dies, he then sprints about an inch to engage one more champ. Between a primalled gorax, a griffon and a pureblood I manage to kill all the bears, unfortunately leaving the mist speaker on 1 box. Una walks out of her safe place behind the building to heal the one box griffon (who goes on to kill another champ) and extend her control range so that another griffon could go kill Valka. She does this and takes a shot at a champ to try and get him out of the zone which misses and she camps 3. One griffon elusives and charges in front of a unit of champs to get in the way. A gorax primals a griffon to kill valka, retaliatory strike doesn’t cripple anything so he does. Another two griffons kill his objective with one sprinting to get in the way of the second unit champs aswell. Being tight on time I panic and knock it over now.
Score 2-1 circle
Trolls: Kolgrimma sprays una so she’s stationary, hunters marks her and brawler kills her.
Defeat for Circle
…So not wanting to spoil a good game we rerack as if I had teleported Una back behind the building like I intended…
Trolls: The three box griffon dies to champs, his partner in crime survives the champs but can’t dodge due to some blocking in, kolgrimma sprays him stationary however so the mauler smashes him. Fire eaters, bog trog and bear handlers all attack cripple the spirit of a griffon with dodging not being a good option. Champions try and fail to hit my griffons who dodge away until they meet the Brawler who kills a griffon with boosted attacks. Not sure if he gets into my zone or not but at this point I was tunnel-visioned into the assassination
Score 3/2-1 to circle
Turn 4
Circle: Running hot hits me hard this turn, and ultimately I’m left with 2 griffons only one with LOS and a pureblood, Kolgrimma has 3 transfers and is 14/17 under stone. No problem. I upkeep Mirage and HoF. My pureblood moves into spray her, and some other incidental models, hits her and does a healthy 10 damage that gets transferred. Una activates and moves over to cycle HoF onto the griffon who can get to Kolgrimma and feats. Crucially forgetting to heal the spirit of the griffon that can get to her. I put primal on him anyway and hope for the best, he leaves her on 1 box.
Score 4/2-1 for circle
Trolls: Didn’t play this out as I had another game but we agree Mauler & Champs kills Una
Defeat for circle
Conclusions
So a couple of lessons there namely don’t panic on clock, I had 15 minutes left which thinking about it now is still loads of time, and check if your beasts are crippled before sending them to do the hard work. Another factor I think was poor positioning of the wilder. She was right beside Una behind the building when really it should have been her making it so that the griffon was in range of Valka but then the griffons blocking each other due to Kolgrimma’s feat is not something you usually have to consider with Una and it threw the list off more than it should have so we’ll know for next time.
Battle Rep #2
Una2 v Kraye, I lost the roll and went first, scenario was standoff
My list
Same again: Una, 7 scarsfells, 2 purebloods, 2 goraxes, 2 wayfarers, 1 unit of stones and a wilder
His list
Kraye, 2 centurions, 2 stormclads, trencher journeyman with 2 grenadiers, trencher mechanics, journeyman with a charger and a squire
Terrain
Rubble in the middle of the left circle zone with a forest on the edge of it at his side. Forest in the middle, a wall in his zone and a hill just behind it, and a large trench just outside my zone. Pond on his side of the right zone and a hill on mine.
Turn 1
Cygnar: Trampling and repositioning forward for Krayes BG and just running for the rest, arcane shield goes on the right Centurion and admonition on the left.
Circle: I edge forward and put up elusive on all the griffons, windwall una and keep the purebloods safe, put the stones up towards a zone since neither of us have much in the way of units, run the black clads around the sides
Turn 2
Cygnar: He upkeeps both spells, blows my stones up with his grenadiers…oops…moves his polarity shielded centurions up aggressively and keeps his stormclads back.
Circle: Due to either bad positioning by me or great positioning by my opponent, most likely a bit of both, neither of my wayfarers can hunters mark anything relevant without polarity field so they just run around try to contest in awkward places. However both of the centurions are in walking range of at least couple of griffons if I feat so I go for it. Applying HoF and wraithbane to a griffon and wraithbane to another to get around arcane shield. I run one in to grant the flank bonus, the first walker leaves it with about 1/3rd of its boxes and the second one finishes it. I do mess up as I forget to apply elusive to these griffons after…so they’re kind of out in the wind. On the other side I almost mess up but not placing the running griffon to block admonition, thankfully I had a spare so I run a second griffon to grant flank and one of the two that went in got primal from a gorax. Unfortunately the dice are not with me and it’s left with movement and cortex.
Score 1-0 to Circle
Turn 3
Cygnar: Kraye feats, hits a griffon, repos towards the back of his zone and by the end is camping one. Everything else hits griffons to varying degrees of success. The stormclad and charger on the right only manages to kill one griffon in the right hand zone but the stormclad and repaired centurion on the left makes up for it pretty much clearing that side of griffons. The grenadier blows up the black clad on that side but his mechanics can’t make it in to score the circle but he does score his zone.
Score 1-1
Circle: Ok Kraye is camping one and in range of griffon so that means the assassination is on right? Right. So I go about it making sure nothing is crippled this time. First try and land a hunters mark, need an 8 roll a 3, my wayfarers need better dice…Pureblood with HoF assaults something to get to Kraye, does some incidental damage but bad dice mean no hit on Kraye. Second pureblood walks over to the Centurion and head butts him so my griffon can get LOS to Kraye. Una walks up to keep him in control when they go for this and puts on primal, camps 4 in case this all goes wrong. I run one to grant the flank bonus, takes a free strike from a charger that cripples his mind but he doesn’t need it, and then the charge attack MAT10 needs a 5, snakes…uh oh. I proceed to leave Kraye on one box. My caster looking down at a centurion…I put elusive on the primalled griffon and pray to the devourer wurm.
Score 1-1
Turn 4
Cygnar: Against the odds and some clever transferring to keep getting myself more fury Una has 11 boxes by the end of turn. His stormclad stands up and proceeds to do nothing to the pureblood. Kraye put admonition up on himself and hits the griffon once not crippling anything. Second attack misses and I dodge so he’s facing kraye who the repos away but not out of frenzying check so I was a bit confused. The lone trencher mechanic runs into the zone.
Score 2-1 to Cygnar
Circle: I’m alive? I’m aliiiiiiive!!! The Griffon frenzies into kraye who admonitions away. Ah that makes sense. Ok we’re still ok. So we upkeep HoF, we activate Una heal the purebloods spirit and he howls Kraye to death.
Victory for Circle
Conclusions
Well mistakes were made but nothing as clutch as the previous game, ultimately got really unlikely in my turn 3 Assassination run and my opponent likewise on his turn 4 run so take what we can get. Probably getting another couple of games next week so will update then.

Battle Report #3
Kreuger2 (Bones of Orboros) v Gastonne2 (Llaelese Resistance), lost the roll and went second, scenario was mirage
My list
Kreuger, woldwrath, megalith, 2 woldwardens, 2 sentry stones, shifting stones, 2 gallows groves, 2 stone shapers and a wayfarer
His list
Gastonne, reinholdt, 2 nomads, 2 mariners, zealots with monolith, cinerators with ua, dannon blyth and bull, anastasisa di bray, taryn di la rovisi, ragman, gibbs, rhupert, a gobber tinker
Terrain
Trench at the back of my circle, large pond beside my flag, forest in the middle, hill on the right side of his zone and a wall at the back of it (he also placed his rubble in the zone), a hill and a forest just in front on his deployment zone and some rubble just in front of his flag.
Deployment (possibly should have had this section last week)
Circle: My regular deployment line left to right was stoneshaper, megalith, warden, wayfarer, kreuger, wrath, warden, shaper. My ad line was a gallows grove, a sentry stone, gallows grove, shifting stones, sentry stone
Mercs: His deployment was, left to right again, something like cinerators, mariner, rhupert on the left, with dannon and bull, gastonne and the rest of the solos in the middle (with taryn in the theme rubble), the rest of his battlegroup and the zealots on my right
Turn 1
Mercs: Taryn walks up, shoots a gallows grove off the table and does some chip damage to a shifting stone. Cinerators shield wall and mini feat to go the extra 5 and everything else runs as far as they can. Gastonne puts lifebound on the zealots and dauntless resolve on the cinerators.
Circle: Woldwrath runs forward making sure I’m out of threat of his battlegroup. One unit of shifting stones kill taryn with aiming boosted sprays and the other just takes pot shots at zealots killing a couple. Can’t get any spells on the cinerators so the gallows grove teleports slight and Megalith runs. Both woldwardens put up forests to hide the stone shapers. The wayfarer runs to get in walking range of the middle flag. Kreuger windstorms and drops 2. Shifting stones move to get in serenity range of a couple of beasts.
Turn 2
Mercs: Anastasia comes on and tries to kill a sentry stone…ooops thankfully she wiffs and does no damage… also on that side the zealots walk forward to try firebomb my sentry stone but forget about windstorm so once the first guy kills himself with blast damage the rest of them decide discretion is the better part of valour. In his zone the mariner takes a shot that misses and his nomads set themselves up to get ready for the woldwrath. On the other side the cinerators shield wall advance up into the rubble to defend his flag but Rhupert is too far back to get on it so he just runs to be able to get on it next turn. Gastonne and his solos all hole up in the rubble and he passes turn.
Circle: So one of the stickmen died belonging to the sentry stone (can’t remember how) getting attacked by Anastasia so he gets placed back behind her and that unit go on to kill her and some zealots. The Woldwarden on that side punches a couple of zealots and TKs a nomad to face the wrong way. My flag is clear so I put a stone shaper on it who proceeds to empower the woldwrath. The wayfarer walks into the forest to claim the middle flag (which will be clear after the feat) and casts hunters mark on the objective. Woldwrath goes in and leaves the objective on one after his charge. Finishes that off with his second. Then proceeds to miss the non-TKd nomad twice, it was just out of the knockdown AOE, hitting with his two others but not crippling anything. Kreuger goes next he casts windstorm and rebukes the cinerators before feating. He catches everything bar Rhupert. Megalith gets empowered and charges the one cinerator who got pushed out of shield wall, killing him and punching two others for weight of stone. The wold warden goes in and surprisingly punches another one to death (arm24!). The other sentry stone goes to get in the way. I score 4 and feel like I’ve won.
Score 4-0 to circle
Turn 3
Mercs: So he does the immediate thing of checking whether Krueger is in range of Gastonne, due to windstorm, the push, the minus speed and the forest in the way he can’t so instead he allocates a lot to his BG and focusses on killing the Woldwrath. It takes almost everything, including his entire battlegroup, his caster (who toes the zone to score), gibbs, and a gobber tinker, but the woldwrath eventually goes down. Otherwise between vengeance attacks and activation attacks the cinerators leave Megalith on 4 boxes. Reinholdt contests the centre flag, why is he speed 7, and the piper contests my zone. The zealots minifeat, kill my sentry stone and run to contest my flag.
Score 4-1 to circle
Circle: Wasn’t expecting him to be able to contest to be honest but the sentry stones spray down reinholdt and a stone shaper kills rhupert. Woldward tramples into his zone to contest and we call it game.
Score 6-1 victory to circle
Conclusion: Mirage is crazy live and you have to have a pretty compelling reason not to play Krueger. Also maybe going second in this particular scenario is worth it. Finally, and it’s something I’m normally good at but I forgot about Anastasia (I reckon it’s cos she’s a solo), remember to beware of ambushing stuff.
Game #4
Una2 (Call of the Wild) v Morghoul3 (Disciples of Agony), won the roll and went first, scenario was the pit II
My list
Una, 7 scarsfells, 2 purebloods, 2 goraxes, 2 wayfarers, 1 unit of stones and a wilder
His list
Morghoul and his escorts, swamp horror, cyclops shaman, cyclops raider, road hog, beast handlers, swamp gobbers, 2 units of nihilators, blood runners, master tormenter, will breaker, mist speaker
Terrain
Pond on my left just in front of my deployment zone, long trench also in front of deployment zone between the circle and left rectangle and rubble on my side of that zone. Forest in the middle of the circle and a hill on his side of the right hand rectangle. On his side (left to right) he has a hill, a forest and a wall just in front of his deployment.
Deployment
Circle: Una in the middle with the two purebloods beside her, 3 griffons, a gorax, a wilder and a wayfarer on the left and the other 4 griffons and other wayfarer on the right. My ad’d stones go in front of Una.
Skorne: A unit of nihilators on each side. Swamp horror supporting the left and the road hog supporting the right. Morghoul and the support in the middle. Blood runners ambush and master tormenter ad’d to threaten the right zone.
Turn 1
Circle: On the left and middle griffons run up as far as they can, on the right they charge and put up elusive staying out of threat of the master tormenter. Goraxes walk. Una puts out windwall, hand of fate on one pureblood and mirage on the other. The HoF pureblood runs and the mirage one walks to be in front of Una in the windwall. Wayfarers and wilder run to keep up.
Skorne: Morghoul puts mirage on one unit and occultation on the other and walks forward 6 having pre-measured his cloud 6 inches ahead…More on this later… Master tormenter stays out of threat of my wayfarers spray and griffons. Both Nihilators run forward in two waves. Beasts stay back, but cyclops takes a ghost shot after getting eyeless sight from the mist speaker. He missed if I remember right and I dodge. The swamp gobbers walk up and put out there cloud however crucially he mistaken measured 6 and put the cloud out ahead forgetting that the gobbers had to be in the cloud so morghoul is in the cloud as well.
Turn 2
Circle: We measure it out, he’s definitely in charge threat of one griffon with feat and most likely in range on another, we got a judge to measure but stuff got knocked so we roll a die and the dice gods say I’m in. I upkeep HoF for free and drop mirage. HoF pureblood goes and sprays the gobbers out of the way. Una gets ported forward by the stones. She puts up primal and HoF on one and feats. A gorax walks up and primals the second one. A griffon runs to grant flank. First griffon blows through the two transfers and kills him.
From this point we rerack as if Morghoul had been behind the cloud…
Circle: So this time I upkeep both spells this time and the HoF’d pureblood goes forward and sprays the left hand unit of nihilators. He got ¾ with one passing his tough check. The second pureblood takes out another one. A griffon walks up and punches the guy who toughed, unfortunately that put him out of control so no elusive for him. At that point I walked Una up so that it wouldn’t happen again and cast wind wall. She’s left on three. Another griffon walks up, elusives and uses the objective to shield himself from Nihilators. All the other griffons position to be out of ambush, generally be threatening and elusive themselves. Goraxes and solos walk to be out of ambush threat as well.
Skorne: Feat turn. He drops occultation but upkeeps mirage. Morghoul and his escorts kill the pureblood, leaving him on three transfers, before they repo back. The gobbers put down a cloud to block LOS from the left hand griffons. Left hand nihilators charge the support and kill the wayfarer and miss my griffons who dodge. The bloodrunners come on and the run to jam. The swamp horror kills two griffons with boosted attack rolls and crit decap. On the other side the master tormentor misses a griffon and does a point to the objective. The road hog gets magic weapons from the mist speaker and assaults una, a griffon and a stone. He misses the griffon who dodges closer, hits Una and the stone. Una transfers and cripples the mind of a gorax. The Shaman takes a shot at her as well and the second transfer hits the spirt of the other gorax. The Raider aims and misses a griffon. The right hand nihilators run to block charge lanes and contest.
Score 0-0
Turn 3
Circle: There are two nihilators and an escort blocking a griffons charge lane to Morghoul. Otherwise I have a griffon in feat walking range so figure that might be enough but no point taking chances. The wilder heals a gorax who primals the walking griffon. The pureblood sprays the escort, who he hits but she sac pawns and he misses the rest of his shots. The spirit crippled gorax charges through the objective to avoid the free strike to hit the master tormentor in the back and kill him. Thank you pain response. Una walks up and feats, kills two nihilators in the way with her gun and puts HoF on the walking griffon. A griffon runs to grant flank and the walking griffon puts Morghoul in the dirt again.
Conclusion: A good match up for me, he didn’t have enough boosted attacks to kill enough Griffons. Really liking these two as an effective pairing with two very different styles of play/win conditions. Need to try out Kaya3 again with griffons just cos I prefer playing with a wider variety of models and I think she attritions slightly better and synergy is a slightly less dice dependent buff than flank but otherwise I’m pretty happy.

My biggest recommendation is to remove the Woldwrath from your Krueger list. Replace him with Woldwardens and a wyrd or two if you have them.

My biggest recommendation is to remove the Woldwrath from your Krueger list. Replace him with Woldwardens and a wyrd or two if you have them. I actually really like the woldwrath in the list so far but I do have plans to replace him with 2 wyrds and a celestial fulcrum once I get one from a mate

Sorry for the delay, had some difficulty this week as I injured my arm thus this game was played off the clock...
Battle report #5
Kreuger2 (Bones of Orboros) v Morghoul1 (Disciples of Agony), won the roll and went first, scenario was spread the net
My list
Kreuger, woldwrath, megalith, 2 woldwardens, 2 sentry stones, shifting stones, 2 gallows groves, 2 stone shapers and a wayfarer
His list
Morghoul, 3 archidons, rhinodon, battleboar, gladiator, cyclops shaman, 2 master tormentors, willbreaker, maximus, 2 units of beast handlers and a unit of blood runners
Terrain
On my side there’s a hill to the left of my AD line, a patch of rubble on the left of the circle zone, a wall central and a forest on the edge of my rectangle, a forest is in the middle of the circle, in his rectangle there’s a hill and outside the zone there’s a long trench.
Deployment
Circle: My regular deployment line left to right was warden, megalith, shaper, wrath, kreuger, warden, wayfarer, shaper. My ad line was a gallows grove, a sentry stone, shifting stones, sentry stone, gallows grove
Skorne: Rhinodon, archidon, gladiator, morghoul, shaman, 2 archidons with the beasthandlers and willbreaker behind this line and way out on one side maximus. For ad he has one master tormentor on each side and the bloodrunners in the middle.
Turn 1
Circle: Everything goes forth. Kreuger and his geomancers threw out a bunch of lightning storms to deter the bloodrunners and tormentors although I kill a mannikan outside kreugers sheltering hand by mistake it works out well.
Skorne: He keeps his infantry out of my range. His battlegroup runs up to be threatening but awkward.
Turn 2
Circle: I don’t want to feat this turn but I reckon I have to in order to keep the momentum, I measure out where I put Kreuger and see I’m just clipping his battlegroup, sighing and realising I need to get to get ridiculously lucky with gallows in order to actually get a heavy means I go with this plan. I do a little bit of damage to an archidon with mannikan charges. Wrath shoots a gladiator for some chip damage. I chuck a lightning storm out and luckily kills two blood runners. Kreguer goes, feats and camps a couple. Can’t remember what I spent the 3 on though, possibly a lightning storm, but he’s in the middle of the zone behind the forest. Gallows grove goes on my flag.
Skorne: This turn I learn that an enraged primalled abused archidon easily kills a warden, even when I though he was safe and sprints into the back of my zone. On the other side a master tormentor kills some mannikans, sprints to contest my flag and the archidon gets to the sentry stone killing that unit. Another archidon repeats that on the other side. The blood runners also put someone in to contest. He puts a solo on his flag but positions badly in the middle allowing me to still score the middle zone.
Score 2-1 to skorne
Turn 3
Circle: So I do good work on one side and mess up on the other. Lets go with the bad first, I put a lot of work into seeing how the wrath can smash the archidon, stupid wall in the way, when really I should have ignored him due to primal and the fact that I wasn’t gonna clear the blood runners/master tormentors. Alas a hunters mark, an enrage and two boosted to hit rolls later the archidon is dead. In order to do that though kreuger and the stones had to get out of the way, kreuger also boosts a tk into an archidon to turn it around for megalith and camps 4. Now onto the side that did well, although looking back now could have been better. Megalith gets enraged and charges that archidon missing both his initials on 5s…he hits his three bought attacks and kills him in the end but has to max out to get there. A warden goes and one shots the master tormentor. I unfortunately don’t contest his flag.
Score 4-1 to circle
Skorne: Morghoul goes. He abuses his gladiator and rhinodon and feats. His blood runners, tormentor and maximus clear the zone apart from the wrath. The Gladiator goes into Megalith and in a lovely bit of dice justice he misses the charge and one more attack leaving megs alive on 3. His shaman puts primal on the rhinodon and he goes into the wrath leaving him on about 20 boxes. The battleboar primals the Archidon who finishes him with enough left to sprint back into the circle. He scores his flag and my rectangle, I score my flag.
Score 5-4 to circle
Turn 4
Circle: Easy things first a stoneshaper gets brave and goes to try and kill some bloodrunners, gets one and contests my rectangle. Another enrages the warden who I’ll be able to force outside Morghoul’s feat. I hop a stone in to contest the flag. Megalith gets into position to punch the gladiator and the archidon for weight of stone and he actually cranks damage on both. Kreuger TKs the rhinodon around so he primals into his stuff, I was aiming for the willbreaker on the flag but can’t quite get past the battle boar. The enraged warden finishes off the gladiator and tks the archidon to face his shaman. I score his rectangle and my flag.
Score 7-4 to circle
Skorne: He abuses and enrages a shaman to kill megalith (finally). Morghoul puts admonition on himself. He kills my contesting stone with Maximus. My stone shaper gets master tormented and dies. A bloodrunner charges kreuger in the back who transfers the 4. His battle boar runs into my rectangle to score but he doesn’t contest mine.
Score 9-6 to circle
Turn 5
Circle: Just need to score two and contest his. So a shifting stone heads to within 4 of his flag. A warden tries to punch his shaman to death but fails. Finally Kreuger takes a free strike, which misses, to charge the master tormentor. Killing him he tks the battle boar out of the zone to score it himself.
Score 12-6, victory to circle
Conclusion: It was nice to see primal screw someone else over for a change, but getting greedy cost me my Woldwrath when should have just ignored that heavy for a turn or alternatively positioned him on the other side of the wall rather than going so far forward. Thinking again on this is might have been worth going second to really force scenario faster.

So two more games with Kreguer last night against my friend with his mercs. I'd changed my list to shift the wold wrath as advised, still lacking a fulcrum I went with a guardian for hitting power, 2 wyrds to make up some shooting and a unit of shiting stones for utility/cos I had 3 points left. Turns out you get a lot of stuff for a gargantuan...My mate who'd previously played Menoth Llaelese resistance also had a Cygnar Llaelese resistance so we played both starting with Cygnar. Anyway lets see how I got on.
Battle Report #6
Kreuger2 (Bones of Orboros) v Gastonne2 ("Cygnar" Llaelese Resistance), lost the roll and went first, scenario was recon2
My list
Kreuger, megalith, 2 woldwardens, wold guardian, 2 wyrds, 2 sentry stones, 2 shifting stones, 2 gallows groves, 2 stone shapers and a wayfarer
His list
Gastonne, reinholdt, nomad, 2 mariners, unit of trenchers, stormlances, thorn unit of gun mages, anastasisa di bray, taryn di la rovisi, ragman, gibbs, gorman di woulfe, a gobber tinker , eilish
Terrain
In my ad line there was a pond on the left and a hill just behind my objective. A forest was on my side of the left zone potentially protecting my flag with some rubble on the edge of his side. A building in between the objectives and a building in the middle of the left zone. On his side he had a trench just outside the left zone and a fog cloud behind his objective. He placed his rubble on his flag beside the trench.
Deployment
Circle: left to right I've a shaper a wyrd a warden, megalith, krueger, guardian, warden, wyrd, wayfarer, shaper
Mercs: l-r, nomad, storm lances, freebooter, eilish, gorman, freebooter, gastonne, gibbs, reinholdt, nomad
Circle ad: gallows grove, sentry stone, shiting stone, shitfting stone, sentry stone, gallows grove
Mercs ad: Trenchers in a big long line across his army and taryn in the rubble. Anastasia amubushes
Turn 1
Circle: Sentries fill themselves up, on the right the gallows grove and sentry stone ports up behind a building and pops forest, mannikans run to be behind building, on the other side the stone ports to be behind my forest and in the zone with the mannikans running to get in the forest. Gallows grove ports into it. The warden on the right walks into the right unit of stones who pop him into the zone. On the other side the guardian runs and gets ported behind the building by the second unit of stones. The right wyrd runs to be behind the forest, the left to behind the central building. Kreuger windstorms, flys onto the hill and tks himself forward another 1.5ish inches to get as far as I can while staying on the hill.
Mercs: Gastonne goes into his rubble and put out his upkeeps. Lifebound on the trenchers and dauntless resolves on the storm lances. Something kills a mannikan. Gibbs runs to spread his command bubble to as many trenchers as he can. Who then go forth and make a massive cloud wall however three trenchers cant repo out. Everything else just moves up cautiously behind the wall most of the support solos getting in the rubble. Eilish stays further back. Stormlances and gunmages run around to flank the right had zone.
Turn 2
Circle: I see a beautiful spot in a cloud to place a mannikan where i can spray taryn gastonne and reinholdt. With three fury I go with that stone first and proceed to miss every one. Dice. The other two try and spray down some trenchers, think I killed one? He may have toughed. The Warden in the back of that zone just puts up his animus and hides. The other sentry stones go after the couple of trenchers they can see and they kill two and tough one. A warden lightning storms the knocked down trencher to kill him off. The wyrd comes up to take shots at the lances and with purgation and boosted damage he kills two and toughs one. Nice. The other wyrd walks into the cloud and kills some trenchers, one may have toughed, and pops arcane suppression to annoy gastonne. My original plan was to shoot gibs but I forgot about the shieldguard aspect of lifebound but i realised just as I went to shoot. The guardian and the megalith shuffle around behind the building and I surround them with shifting stones in prep for next turn. Kreuger goes forward windstorms and tks the warden slightly. A shaper goes on my flag and the wayfarer contibues to hide behind the forest.
Mercs: Anastasia ambushes. Could shoot my wayfarer in the back but instead decides to run and contest my flag. Gastonne does upkeep both in the end paying 4. He feats and spends souls to go crazy and kill my wyrd and a mannikan. His nomad kills off the other two mannikans. Mariners takes a pot shot on the warden and misses due to the forest. Trenchers make a much smaller cloud wall this time. The other mariner shoots but doesnt do much. Storm lances kill off three mannikans and the other wyrd between impact attacks and charges. They repo into my face. Gorman runs to the rubble near the left zone. Gun mages move in again closer on the flank. Nothing in the contesting range of his flag so he scores 1.
Score 1-0 to mercs
Turn 3
Circle: So the storm lances presented a slight puzzle as I can't get my warden onto all three or even two without taking a free strike. So first i pop a mannikan in the back of the one who toughed for a charge attack but he falls to crack arm. So in the end I enrage and port megalith over who kills a storm lance and then tries to TK the mariner closer to the objective (so that the guardian could kill both) but he had stealth from the feat and I was just out. The warden heads over and kills the other two lances. The other shaper enrages the guardian who kills the objective and a trencher, ramming into flag contesting range. My warden in that zone tramples up and punches another trencher. Kreuger activates, casts windstorm, feats and then sees that Anastasia didnt get pushed out of contesting range. Tries to shoot her and she has stealth...So my wayfarer walks into her back and caves her head in with a stick..lucky break there..so he phase jumps to get behind the house in the middle of the board.
Score 3-1 to circle
Mercs: Mariner turns out to be out of Gastonne's control due to feat so he can't get into the zone. Gorman walks in
Score 4-2 to circle
Next couple of turns get kind of garbled due to low clock and the maths not working out in my head atm but it reloves around me making the decision that I can't kill gastonne due to him being defense ridiculous so I go for a slow scenario win, not letting him score by keeping my beasts contesting and get there by the top of 5 super low on clock with megalith who takes care of gorman with a charge, fails his TK on the mariner out of the zone, and then punches him to death ensuring circle victory. Ending up with a score of 8-2, victory to circle.

So the second game of last weeks rumbel betweeb Kreuger and Gastonne
Battle Report #7
Kreuger2 (Bones of Orboros) v Gastonne2 (Llaelese Resistance), lost the roll and went first, scenario was Invasion
My list
Kreuger, megalith, wold guardian, 2 woldwardens, 2 wyrds, 2 sentry stones, shifting stones, 2 gallows groves, 2 stone shapers and a wayfarer
His list
Gastonne, reinholdt, 2 nomads, 2 mariners, zealots with monolith, cinerators with ua, dannon blyth and bull, anastasisa di bray, taryn di la rovisi, ragman, gibbs, rhupert, a gobber tinker
Terrain
On my side there's a wall outside the right circle, fog cloud behind the rectangle and a pond behind the left circle, inside the left circle there's a building, in the middle of the rectangle there's a forest, a patch of rubble just touching his side of the circle and a trench just behind his objective. Finally he put his rubble beside the trench.
Deployment
Circle: left to right I've a shaper a wyrd a warden, megalith, krueger, guardian, warden, wyrd, wayfarer, shaper
Mercs: l-r, Zealots, mariner, nomad, tinker, gastonne, rhupert, ragman, nomad, cinerators, gibbs, mariner and taryn is in the rubble.
Circle ad: gallows grove, sentry stone, shiting stone, shitfting stone, sentry stone, gallows grove
Turn 1
Circle: Grove and sentry stones in the edge of the circle zones with the mannkins spreading out either behidn the building or just generally in the zone with no terrain. Both sentries put up their forest. Wyrds, megalith and one warden runs up. The guardian runs into the stones and gets teleported up, a warden on the other side does the same. Kreuger flies up, puts up windstorm and tks himself for those extra inches.
Mercs: My opponent tries something cute, a mariner can get just in range of a sentry stone who I thought would be out of LOS due to the building but he's not and with Firegroup he can get the range so reinholdt strips stealth, Gastonne activates and puts out lifebound on the zealots, dauntless on the cinerators and firegroup. Gibbs runs into position to be a loader the mariner pops him. Oops. Everything else runs forward.
Turn 2
Circle: So there goes my plan to jam the cinerators, however using the gallows grove to put rebuke on them seems like a pretty good plan B. So I port the grove over to do just that later in the turn. Otherwise I think I can get my guardian onto either a nomad or a mariner and if I can just clear some of these zealots so my mannikans get a couple but leave one in the way to the mariner, my wyrd pops three shots at them but the shieldguard him so that Mariner is safe. Instead Megalith walks into the forest and Tks the nomad around, a warden charges that pesky zealot finally killing him and shoots a gallows at the nomad pulling him a further 5 inches nicely into walking range of the guardian who gets enraged and puts him down. I send my wyrd forward to take some shots at ragman who sac pawns to the cinerators who are still ARM24 so it doesnt do much. I put my warden on the other side of the building to his nomad but far up to be threatening. Kreuger goes forth, rebukes the cinerators, windstorms and feats catching most of his army. Shifting stones head towards the circle zones to try and score.
Mercs: Kreuger is only camping 1 so he takes a long look at the assassination but in the end with the feat and windstorm gastonne just cant get far enough to shoot him. Instead he loads up the nomad who can just about trample through the building with feat. Didn't think about that. With a little help from the Mariner, Taryn, Ragman and Gastonne the nomad kills my warden. on the other side of the building between vengeance and a walk the cinerators chop down my tree. Anastasia ambushes in and kills a stone shaper on the side where the cinerators are. Zealots minifeat and then charge my sentry stone leaving it on a box. They also do some minor damage to the warden. The mariner shoots but misses.
Score 0-0
Turn 3
Circle: Time to start scoring, a wyrd shoots the one zealot in my zone three times and kills him when the other shield guards get out of range. A sentry stone unit sprays down a couple more zealots. The warden on that side TKS the mariner so he can't contest and has to tunr around to shoot, as well as punching a couple more zealots. The wayfarer tries to hunters mark the objective but fails due to the stealth cos of the feat. Guardian still punches it to death easily. A shaper enrages megalith who gets revenge for the other warden by killing the nomad. A wyrd takes some shots at the cinerators and kills one after a tough and puts damage on the other. Stones shift around to be useful. Kreuger shoots some zealots, windstorms and moves further back to keep the forest between himself and gastonne.
Score 2-0 to circle
Mercs: Looks at the assassination again and its a good thing I moved him back cos otherwise I think he'd have gone for it. Instead he uses the cinerators to kill off my wyrd and some shifting stones. Puts some serious hurt on megalith with the rest of the crew that killed the warden but he tanks it. Goes to do some damage to the objective but doesnt do much. Zealots finish off the sentry and the gallows grove. Reinholdt moves in to contest. He scores his zone with the cinerators.
Score 2-1 to circle.
Turn 4
Circle: Megalith kills Taryn and Reinholdt with a couple of attacks and TKS himself to contest. Guardian Kills mariner, the warden kills the rest of the zealots. Kreuger windstorms and kills off Blythe and Bull with ranged, shifting stones get into the zone to score. The black clad tries to get the crit knock down with a spray on the cinerators and hits them all but no crit and no meaningful damage. The wyrd goes next and his dice let him down on damage.
Score 4-1 to circle
Mercs: He can probably kill megs and the objective fairly handily so he could have stayed in the game but he's so down on clock and knows he wont catch up with me so he goes for assassination with a couple of darkfires and a cinerator charge who got there thanks to the fact that I dropped rebuke and an espionage from Anastasia but he died to a couple of freestrikes from the wyrd and the blackclad. At that point my opponent conceeds.
Victory to circle
Note to self: don't drop rebuke, ever.

It's hard enough to get to use rebuke. Don't drop it!

So not proper reports this time around but had a practice day for wtc testing matchups and had some pretty cool games
Game 1 was una2 against doomy3 in power of dhunia. His pairing was kolgrimma and doomy3. Kolgrimma screws Kreuger and while Una is not the worst kolgrimmas feat does screw the griffons so is probably a dodge in the match up process. However I hadnt played doomy3 so we played that instead. I was going second and he feated defensively on turn 2, I had a pureblood who could get an assault spray on doomy and 3 griffons in striking range of his caster while being able to clear my zone pretty trivially so I went for it, Assassination run didnt pay off as he was camping 3 and that regeneration is crazzzzzzy. However was still able to score two. The following turn due to a pureblood that just wouldnt die and my griffons not dying either I was able to score my flag again and go 3 up and here's where I made the fatal error. Rather than simply healing a pureblood who could ghostly charge the objective and keep scoring the flag, I instead tried to kill an ARM22 earthborn to clear my zone who kept popping out whelps making it harder to score the zone. By the time I saw the other line of play I had already activated una and had no way of healing the pureblood. At that point attrition swung and he starts chasing Una around the board until it was obvious that he wins on scenario.
Game 2 was kreuger into rasheth. He's paired with Zaadesha and there's no way he drops that with Una2 screwing the defensive part of his feat. My opponenet and I had already played Una into this matchup and reckoned it was pretty balanced so we thought we'd try it out with this list and overall it went better than expected. Lost the roll again and went second. He twice failed to kill wardens with his turtles (leaving em both on 9 boxes each time), the first one I was able to kill was on his second/feat turn. The warden was just out of the feat so on the following turn I shook knockdown and between the warden and megalith it died. That turn with Kreugers feat I was able to score 2. Following turn he fails to kill the second warden as mentioned above, I kill his objective to get to 3 and leave 2 models in the circle zone as kreuger and the wayfarer are unable to roll average and Krueger spends his 3 shots trying to kill a solo. I'd left kreuger camping 3, although no windstorm i felt safe, however in a line of play I did not see coming my opponenet uses the beast handlers to fill my transfer target (Megalith on 20 something boxes). Then rasheth comes up and shoots off some spells at krueger than did some damage and this caused the wyrds to do some damage to him in return but then the tow cyclops shaman come over and despite one shield guard kreuger goes down.
Game 3 ended up in Kreuger v Denny3, paired with goreshade3 ghostfleet, playing mirage. His list featured a lot of ranged that he flanked really hard to avoid windstorm so not sure if this was the right call now however once I saw mirage I figured Kreuger was the right drop. Decided to go second to start scoring first and overall it was paying off, scored 3 on turn 2/feat turn and everything was pretty balanced on attrition. However for some reason I had decided that jussika needed to die, not sure why, but I put too many shots in with kreuger when I should have windstormed. I was camping 3 behind megalith and a forest but in something I forgot about Denny 3 feated mortalitied and scourged Megalith which caught kreuger. Kreuger was then mortalitied and the ogrun cannon guys put enough shots into him that got through the transfers, with windstorm only a couple of them would have made it, he also had a charge on him from jussika but a free strike could have sorted that. Twas unfortunate because that turn he scores one but the follwoing it is likely I score 4 and wrap up the game. Still an excellent game.
Conclusions: Try to be more flexible and not get fixated, see the earthborn, krueger on jussika etc., always cast windstorm cos otherwise kreuger dies and remember that positioning to keep outta LOS is important but not if there's other stuff they can cast on. All in all great games and I'm looking forward to my next one which should be skarre1 stalkers to see if Una can handle it.

Been super lazy recently but played 5 games in the last week, 2 practice and 3 at a great event that I ended up winning so some quick and dirty battle reports from those games below .
My list s
Una, 7 scarsfells, 2 purebloods, 2 goraxes, 2 wayfarers, 1 unit of stones and a wilder
Kreuger, megalith, wold guardian, 2 woldwardens, 2 wyrds, 2 sentry stones, shifting stones, 2 gallows groves, 2 stone shapers and a wayfarer
First two games were with skorne, I wanted to play into Xerxis2 drake spam and that list is crazy.
His list
xerxis2, 2 seige anamathrax, 7 drakes, 3 kreas, 2 min beast handlers
I won the roll and went first, scenario recon2, and advanced probably too cautiously because after he runs up I have maaaaaybe 2 griffons in threat to both battle engines, if I feat and even then the other side would be out of control without significant shennanigans so I opt to be careful and just take one. He responds with a feat that ends up with me having 2 badly hurt griffons, my purebloods and goraxes, shifting stones and una. I have 2 griffons, Xerxis is in walking range of one if I feat. I primal that griffon with a gorax, una heals the two of them, HoFs the one who can get in and feats. Two purebloods take potshots, one does a couple of points the other forces a transfer, first griffon runs to provide flank and the walking griffon kills him with the last attack. Wow that's a harsh match up. Think I got one dodge on his feat turn. I think a little bit like wraith engines and skarre when I should have focussed on banes, I perhaps should have gone after drakes.
The second game was Kreuger into Morghoul in recon2 which was a long ground out slugfest.
His list Morghoul, archidon, 2 cyclops brutes, cyclops raider, cyclops shaman, 2 master tormentors, task master, totem hunter, gator posse, nihilators, 2 units of blood runners
That really started with a bad turn two for me when I was unable to kill an archidon with a powered up guardian as he missed 2 boosted 8s. Effectively giving him the heavy but hey dice happen. I manage to get just ahead on scenario and push it to a clock victory, we played it out and he wins on the scenario in the end due to going second and just having more stuff by the end.
Bantercon round 1 I got a bye but played the TO who was playing ossrum/magnus but he dropped ossrum and I dropped Kreuger
His list Ossrum, 5 spray bunnies, 2 seige crawlers, 2 units of hammer dwarfs, 2 mortars, 2 bokurs
I won the roll and went second, scenario was mirage, he responds by feating turn 1, running as far as he can and jamming all the armour and boxes down my throat. I counter feat to prevent getting boxed in too much and and put rebuke on a unit of hammer dwarves that were further up. We grind it out from there and on turn 4 when we both have sub 10 minutes left on our clocks Ossrum attempts to stranglehold a guardian and fails. From there I'm able to TK the guardian, powered up, into charge range who boosts to hit and finishes him on the second attack. Scenario ends up 6-4 to me but I think the hammer dwarves finish off megalith and the warden the next turn and at that point he wins on attrition if he has enough time.
Bantercon round 2 I dropped into a friend of mine who was running Thags1 double throne and abby1 with an archangel, I figured that much arm means I drop Una and he played thags.
His list Thags, Double throne, carnivean, typhon, afflictor, seraph, 3 shepards, 2 forsaken, hellion, spell martyr, blackfrost shard
I win the roll and opt to go first. Scenario was the pit. First turn things run, his turn a carnivean assaults a griffona and leaves it on 4 boxes after fire hits it. A throne is in range if I hunters mark, griffons go in and take it. However its way out on a flank so the wilder has to go control them. The crispy griffon has spirit left so it elusives and charges doing nothing but acting as a speed bump. I hunters mark the carnivean to not spend the focus as I see blight bombs in my future. One pureblood sprays the BFS to death as he'd bunched up nicely for me. His turn, I was right a forsaken blight bombs the guys who took out the throne getting 5 dice on one griffon, 3 on another and just the two on the last. Does a fair whack of damage and a seraph finishes one, typhon kills the other who took little damage and one is left fairly beat up. The afflictor kills the wilder who turns into an incubi who runs to jam my wayfarer and a griffon. His second throne charges my pureblood but his dice go cold and only gets one seven leaving him fully functional. The jammed carnivean kills the cripsy griffon and he runs a forsaken to contest that zone. Turn 3, a griffon can see thags but hes a couple of transfers and spiny growth so I leave that til last. First a huntersmark lands and griffons kill his throne. The pureblood walks over and kills the objective and the forsaken. The blackclad kills the incubi, freeing the griffon who can now get thags, and phase jumps away. Now the assassination a cripppled griffon walks into thags back arc and the second charges him and puts him down in 3 swings. I think I gave spiny growth too much consideration, maybe its just that the griffons are so fragile normally I thought he'd definitely lose a spiral but d3 in random branches makes it very unlikely now that I see it on the table.
Bantercon Round 3 At this stage there are 3 players unbeaten and I've no idea what the tiebreakers are and if my bye screwed me but figure I'm in with a shot. I'm playing another friend of mine, also playing legion who has thags1 so I drop una and we go again. Scenario was standoff.
His list thags, double throne, typhon, angelius, 2 shredders, bloodseer, succubus, 3 sheperds, 2 hellions, gremlin swarm, swamp gobbers, 2 spell matyrs
Conveniently my opponent has wrote up his report already so in a shameless copy and paste (with some minor corrections in bold)...
Lost the roll to go first.
He advanced. I put both thrones in range of 2 griffins wide on each side. Forcing him to land both hunters Mark and feating.
He accepts. Both thrones die top of 2. It has caused 3 griffins out of his control and one on the left Is primaled.
Due to this I chose to ignore the griffins to my right. Use the gobbers to block Los with a cloud and start killing of the birds on my right.
Works reasonable well and I go 1 up. Birds just trade so favourable and clearly fear each other. The birds frenzy into each other doing no more than 4 points of damage. Very disappointing and the clever in a player kills the supports and scores 2 Cps to 2-1 up.
I contest his zone and score my again but the net is closing on my. 2-2. Hellion on my left who has backed into a large rock gets eaten by a pureblood. Cathal scores 2 more..4-2. I fail to clear my zone. Disaster. So pass the turn at 4-2. Cathal clears the 2 zones again..6-2.
Attrition is going well. I've 2 purebloods, 2 gorax and 3 griffins vs Thag1 Thyphon and Angel naga bloodseer and a hellion with my feat still remaining. I send Thag1 into the top zone and fail to kill a gorax. Camp 1 as the objective still contests the zone. Bloodseer kills the other gorax. Thyphon and the last Shepard enter the right zone with Una and Thyphon kills the pureblood and a Griffin. Naga gets to a Griffin in the bottom zone. Misses and it dodges away. (That griffon then frenzed into the objective as part of plan B) Una calms herself and bolt shoots Thag (Typhon not thags) away. 7-2.
Excellent game.
A khador player also went unbeaten, we have same SOS, but I had better CPs and Army points so whichever of those comes first (can never remember) seals the deal and I take top. Great event and look forward to heading back up north for the next one.

So been taking a break for a week after WTC to try and relax, not that it worked I was still lurking here and watching stuff online but I tried, so since I'm getting back into games this evening figured I'd write up my experience. Had a great time overall and had some really great games as well as some where I really didnt play so well...but a learning experience for next time! Without further adieu round 1
So Round 1 we got paired with USA Tesla and I get paired up with their grymkin player. He had child and king of nothing. I figured Una beats child, doesn't like King and then Krueger can take both, the scenario is also mirage so I drop kreuger. He drops king. My memory of the details of the game is not perfect but I was up on scenario by 1 or 2 and he was up on attrition but the guardian had gotten into his circle and king had to come up to do work and it didnt work out. Krueger comes up to shoot king and strip off his transfers but ends up spiking like crazy and kills him with lightning. In the end I gotta say I got kind of lucky as I had almost killed a crabbit with a wayfarer to unjam the guardian which would have given the king his free teleport outta there. Still I'll take it, team wins 3-2.
Round 2, Austria Dandy and I get cryx. He has coven in DH and Denny in scourge. From experience I know I dont want to go second against Coven and Denny is ok so I drop Una for the +1 to go first. However I lose the roll. The feat keeps me in my deployment zone more or less until turn 2. Never really got into this match as I was just too much on the backfoot. Still a fun game and my opponent played it really well. Thinking on it maybe should have gone with kreuger as at least you can counterfeat? Team lost 1-4.
Round 3, this round we get Austria Schwarzenegger and there's a couple of matchups I don't fancy so the team decides I'll be catching a bus. So I get the skarre1/skarre3 player. I dropped Krueger imagining I'd get skarre1, a match up I don't like but its better than against Una, however I got to play skarre 3 in slaughter fleet instead who I hadn't played so I was pretty excited. We proceeded to have a great game in which mistakes where made, lost megalith to shooting early, and ultimately I went for an all or nothing assassination that failed due to a missed hunters mark on skarre (needing a 5), we roll it out and the guardian would have killed her to the box. Gotta say that is one tough boat. Team ended up winning 3-2.
Round 4, Day 2 started with a game against Greece Epic and I got their Anamag player. Seemed like a game for Krueger so off we went. He played really well forcing the game into this narrow choke point but made a big mistake in where he put his hellmouth as it meant he couldnt get his blightbringer into the zone/in front of anamag so on turn 2 or 3 I went into the think tank for a long time as I was fairly sure I could get megalith to anamag. Ultimately I did but it took too many resources which ended up leaving her on maybe half-health/a third-health and the game resumed from there in which he kept grinding me down. I ended up clocking mid risky kreuger assassination. We roll it out, Kreuger just does it. Great game though very interesting matchup. Team wins 4-1.
Note the next two games my dice were awful, to the point my opponents were apologising to me, so at the time I felt kind of salty however I want to take nothing away from my opponents I was definitely outplayed.
Round 5, this round we draw Germany Gesamtkunstwerk and I get there Merc players. Ends up being Krueger v Ossrum. Afterwards he says this match up is bad for me. I don't think it is necessarily but dice happened. He played super cagey with ossrum the entire game so I never had that out and while I did get up on scenario he kept clawing back and grinding me down. This continued for a few turns until I didnt have enough left to score/contest his stuff and he ended up winning 5-10 on scenario. Team lost 2-3
Round 6, Germany Poltergeist I end up playing the Troll player who had Gunnbjorn(!) and Kolgrimma. Scenario was spread the net so I drop krueger. He drops kilgrimma we get into it. Now at this stage something clearly went wrong in my head as I thought I had gone second but on bottom of 2 he says ok I score 2 and I said no you don't at which point I realise, oh shit! From that point on I was playing catchup and I ended up losing on scenario 3-8. Don't feel too bad however as the rest of the lads lost as well and we get a 0-5.
However the team went 3-3 which is great. I'm a little disappointed at my 1-5 but there are 2 really close games in there so I dont feel too bad and ultimately I had a great time and learned a lot.
Looking forward to not playing Kreuger or Una for awhile and getting stuck into Tharn.
