I'll be giving a very similar list a try this weekend. conflictchamber.com/#c7201b_-0G02esiUjqj20k0miZiZj5i_j3Trollbloods Army - 75 / 75 points [Theme] Storm of the North [Gunnbjorn 1] Captain Gunnbjorn [+28] - Dozer & Smigg [18] - Rok [19] - Trollkin Runebearer [0(5)] Valka Curseborn, Chieftain of the North [0(6)] Krielstone Bearer & Stone Scribes (min) [6] - Stone Scribe Elder [0(3)] Northkin Bear Handlers & Battle Bears [10] Northkin Bear Handlers & Battle Bears [10] Northkin Raiders (max) [15] Pyg Lookouts (min) [7] Hearthgut Hooch Hauler [18] I was torn between double min Raiders plus Whelps in exchange for the max Raiders and min Lookouts. A question of whether I need the extra solos for scenario and/or fury management or if I want one larger unit of Raiders to put Snipe on (plus the Hauler certainly won't mind the Mark Target). Hopefully I will live the dream of Mark Target something, Oil it with the Sniped Lucky Shot aiming Hauler and then cycle onto my aiming Raiders for Rat 10 boosted 12s.

I think Gunny wants the one full unit because he has a strong upkeep for them.

Where do you all plan to put explosivo? I feel like Rok or the hooch hauler seem like the most common targets since they have sprays. That could _really_ expand the footprint of the spray template against squishy models, particularly when Rok has Guided Fire and the wagon's leadership!

It's usually better to have the wall out and maybe move it, plus guided fire, maybe boost your own to hit shot. Throw out a lucky shot or two.
It feels like while it's good all the time because of the AOE and RFP parts it is situational and won't get cast unless u need one of those effects.

I think Gunny wants the one full unit because he has a strong upkeep for them. Yea that was definitely a part of why I took the full unit. Although I know I'd also rather have the two smaller units to be able to more easily split them on either side of the Hauler for the Stumbling aura while still allowing the Hauler to move forward first. We'll see how it works out on Saturday. Arcaux - I think you put Explosivo onto Rok or the Hauler (depending on whether you want Snipe on it) simply because you upkeep it for free. I'm assuming I won't have Rok charging in until turn 3 or later but might as well have it on him in the meantime.

You might as well use the theme benefit to upkeep Explosivo for free if it's on a Northkin model. The Hauler is a good target indeed, assuming that Snipe is better used on the Raiders. Remember that the spell also makes its shots deal magic damage, so it can spray Gremlin Swarms and such. This could be something. Maybe a good answer if Ghost Fleet ever comes back. conflictchamber.com/#c7201b_-0G02fmjq6Gj20li-iZiZj5cCj3Trollbloods Army - 75 / 75 points [Theme] Storm of the North [Gunnbjorn 1] Captain Gunnbjorn [+28] - Glacier King [35] - Trollkin Runebearer [0(5)] Fell Caller Hero [0(5)] Valka Curseborn, Chieftain of the North [0(6)] Krielstone Bearer & Stone Scribes (max) [9] - Northkin Elder [3] Northkin Bear Handlers & Battle Bears [10] Northkin Bear Handlers & Battle Bears [10] Northkin Raiders (max) [15] - Trollkin Sorcerer (1) [3] Hearthgut Hooch Hauler [18]

I had a couple of good games with this. Captain Gunnbjorn +28 Dozer & Smigg (18) Dire Troll Bomber (19) Winter Troll (8) Valka Curseborn (0) Fell Caller Hero (0) Northkin Raiders (15) Krielstone Bearer & Stone Scribes (9) Northkin Elder (3) Northkin Bear Handler & Battle Bears (10) Trollkin Champions (16) Skaldi Bonehammer (5) It doess well into infantry-machine, and has enough to take on a few heavies, but I dont know gow it would handle jack spam. Battle report here.... disgruntledwargamer.com/gunny-in-northkin-vs-protectorate-grymkin/

I know it is a boring comment and i know "you do not need 3 free things" but you are paying 13 points to have a winter troll. Just saying

I got a chance to finally put the list on the table. I was pleasantly surprised at how well it did. I'm still not in love with the Hooch Hauler but everything else excelled. I will be removing the Lookouts to max the stone and add whelps though as the biggest complaint I had was the lack of solos.
Few things, Snipe on the Raiders meant that I could aim for Rat 8 (under Hauler aura) or charge and Quick Work a really long way. My opponent carefully set his heavy jack outside Rok's charge range, shot him, and then Rok casually stumbled forward 3" to be in range. And then charged in and 1 rounded a heavy plus left the second on 6 boxes (and promptly frenzied and killed it the next turn). I learned I cannot Kill Shot with Rok if I am still engaged which was sad. It was a mostly melee army I faced so Gunny's feat really only gave me no knockdown for a turn which isn't incredible but could be worse. Aside from that though I really liked the list.

I know it is a boring comment and i know "you do not need 3 free things" but you are paying 13 points to have a winter troll. Just saying Good question. As boring as it sounds, I spent a few hours on it. The lack of a champ hero kind of hurts the champs in melee. Being able to hit a model on the opponent's turn is sweet. So if I dropped winter troll, I could put in a hero... and either pyg lookouts(min) or fire eaters. I like boosted sprays. I also like the animus. It usually takes two or three grunts to kill one, so a couple guys go stationary. But marked targets help bomber, gunny and dozer (who don't really need marked target), as well as help raiders. So pygs are possible additions. Fire eaters can do stuff, i've heard, but mine usually die fast. So I don't run them well. The light troll can help with rectangle zones, but maybe a paired list can be built to handle those scenarios. So, going back and playing again, I would probably drop the winter for Pyg Lookouts. That adds a champ hero. So the champions wouldn't have felt so threatened by the dragoon on the menoth game, and might have done better into the grymkin in the second game. Another configuration I considered was where I add a sorcerer to the champs, pick up the free hero, drop bomber, add blitzer, and keep winter. Blitzer likes snipe (14"), can pick up bulldoze, benefits from kill shot all the time, and is a good explosivo target when not sniped up. It is definitely food for thought. You lose far strike, but that may be okay. Definitely good food for thought.

Do you know what pyg lookouts are great for? Forcing enemies to turn around to deal with them, or killing solo's who think they would be safe to camp distant flags.

My opponent carefully set his heavy jack outside Rok's charge range, shot him, and then Rok casually stumbled forward 3" to be in range. You played that rule incorrectly. Rok only has Stumbling Drunk when he is with Borka. Don't beat yourself up though, I have done plenty of stuff like this before.

You then take skaldi as a free card. Bears are good i hear
