My local community has a slow JML coming up across several different stores. While I have read up and collected from bargain bins and garage sales, I haven't built with anything in mind except the old Four Star Contract in mind, nor have I had a lot of playing time involved. (I do have a Skorne collection as well, but it is not Theme friendly at all.)
Short story long, here is what I have, I probably won't be able to include any new models till the League is complete, barring a new job miraculously rearing its head. What would make for a good JML progression grouping? I would prefer MacBain or Magnus2 be the final Warcaster, but I am flexible in that area.
Warcasters: Ashlynn MacBain Crosse2 Magnus1 Magnus2
Warjacks: Buccaneer x2 Mangler Mule Nomad x2 Renegade Rover Talon Vanguard
Units: Kayazy Assassins + Underboss Kayazy Eliminators x2 Cylena & Nyss Hunters (Unbuilt)
Solos: Eiryss1 Crosse1 Bailoch Ragman Brocker Orrik

With that you have you can make an agressive Magnus 2 list
Magnus 2 Nomad Nomad Buccaneer
Its 0 points. Both calamity and the net have a hit fix. Weather calamities -2 def or the nets nock down.
With escort up the battlegroups fast and magnus can stack the armor bonus with his unyealding to prock a +4 arm each turn vs melee.
His feat can be used to stop charges as it flat out prevents opponents advancing in 2 directions.

Well, I'm planning on the standard JML starter of Magnus1, Mangler, and Rover, as I haven't cleared it with the Organizer to run an alternative setup. I'm more interested in progressing past that.
That would be a good final Battlegroup, though. I may want to add a Mangler on to that for gits and shiggles, but I may want to be bringing Crosse in, too.
I think for my model list, I am stuck with Irregulars for a target Theme.

Add in your battlegroups durability and hitting power with mangler and rover and you have a huge advantage at most early point games. Trencher longunners with snipe give you a cra unit that gets two shots when aiming and the ability to reroll damage on a rng 18 gunline. (Options range from 8 2man cra at rat 10 pow 12 and 2 3man cra at rat 13 pow 13. To 2 massive 11man cra at rat 20 pow 21.) Rover is the best Iorn agression target at free charges and boodted melee attack rolls (gun has point blank). Mangler is the best target for death ward as selecting collums on him optimizes his survivability and usability. And blur is best to keep magnus safe from ranged assassinations.

As I said, I probably won't be able to add anything to my model list, so Trenchers of any type are a no go. The only units I have are Kayazy and Nyss Hunters, neither work in Kingmaker's. The only Solo I have that will work Kingmaker's is Bailoch. So the list would be my 'Casters, 'Jacks, and Bailoch in a Theme which does not reward spamming 'Jacks. Therefore with what I have, Irregulars is the only Theme I can target. I am looking at how I should add in what I have to my JML list each week. Out of what I have, what would best suit the 15, 30, 45, 60, and 75 point marks, and which Warcaster would best be swapped to fit the final stable. Iron Aggression is almost wasted on the Mangler, which makes the Rover the best target for it. Thank you for your help in the initial strategy of the first few games.

With your collection, you can make a decent Magnus 2 Irregulars list.
I dont think the exact progression is all that important, just add jacks and solos to make the points fit.
I'd make sure to get both Nomads, the Renegade and Ragman in there though and the only units I would use are the Eliminators.
Suggestion: Week 1 0pts Magnus1 Mangler Rover
Week 2 11pts Magnus1 Mangler Rover Nomad
Week 3 28pts Irregulars Magnus1 Mangler Rover Nomad Nomad Buccaneer Ragman Eiryss
Week 4 45pts Irregulars Magnus2 Mangler Rover Nomad Nomad Renegade Buccaneer Ragman Eiryss Kayazy Eliminators

You can move one or more of your ranged jacks to Crosse. I'd go with the Mule and possibly the Vanguard too.
Its not an optimised list, but I think its fine for JM. If possible I'd consider picking up Gorman or Hutchuck, Orin Midvinter, Sylys Wyshnalyr and Aiyanna and Holt, as they're all really useful and fairly cheap.
