So you play Kaya1 for +2 hit and an extra Fury feat? That doesn't sound very compelling...

Oh, it's not very compelling. Most lists she does ok with other casters do better. In fact, Kromac1 basically has most of her advantages covered. However, if you really want to play Kaya1 at 75+.......

Alright so i dont play Circle, but Kaya 1 is my wife's bread and butter. Spirit door with a pair of purebloods is brutal, and my wife likes the added mat on the giant lightning phoenix, and if you can put ranged damage into a caster before committing her, she can spirit door hersrlf to their casters back, spirit fang with boosted damage, feat and boosted wpirit fang twice mmore. If the defense is too absurd, sorcha in cover under wind rush, or whatnot, then one of those purebloods knocking her down and chewing through transfers first pretty well guarantees she can kill them. Not saying Kaya1 the end all and be all, but she isnt deadweight at 75 or even 100 pts either.

Kaya can't cast spirit fang after being placed by spirit door. Casting an offensive spell is still an attack wich spirit door prevents.
I don't think Kaya1 is bad, just very boring. apply heavies, spiritdoor them back, make sure Kaya is not assassinated, rinse repeat.

I... don't see it, but I'd like to, given the number of jank boxes it ticks. Would you mind unpacking a little for thosee of us in the drinking brackets?

I'm guessing sprays + spirit door along with fast-moving eleap guns take out jam units and support with little retribution. Once things are cleared up, you can send in the raptor (kaya1 actually fixes one of the major complaints against big bird ie MAT) and purebloods to clear heavies after they have taken chip damage from guns.
Raptors animus synergizes with the mist riders (although that puts the target within 7" of Stormy or 8" of Kaya...).
You could also just attrition down from range until you can get a primaled raptor into the enemy caster. I know for a while Charles_Carmichael was having success killing/disrupting multiple heavies with a primaled raptor, allowing it to survive to rinse and repeat.
This list is actually really intriguing. If only I owned big bird, the goat sisters, or time to play actual games 😅

Sorry catulle I'm on vacation for a bit now so my responses are slow. That list really doesn't tick any "jank boxes". It's a pretty straight forward up the board with occultated mist riders hiding Kaya and the smaller beasts. The purebloods move through the gaps between the riders to spray and if they're too far up to re-establish the smoke wall the spirit door them home and incrementally move the wall up. The raptor should be able to hold down a flank on his own with the wilder extending control for him as needed. If you see a good amount of infantry drop the cloud wall and chain lightning away. Kaya just makes it kind of work thanks to spirit door and the +2Mat for the raptor. The drinking brackets are the only place this would ever be playable and I'm right in those trenches with you

I want to try a list with a Occultated Fulcrum, double Woldwyrds, double Purebloods, and whatever Arguses/Griffons I feel like to run up and engage/annoy my opponent. It probably cannot play into Cygnar but it might be fun against Cryx and other spam.
Alternatively you could go in theme for Snacking (RFP although it does not work against Cryx) or ambushing Wolves of Orboros.
My mk2 experience was that you either run beast heavy and use Soothing Song or more of a mixed arms apporach and use Spirit Door to ensure favourable trades. The latter strategy also makes better use of Wraithbane than Primal (since you can potentially negate retaliation and thus afford to two-round things instead of getting them in one go). I liked Tharn Wolf Riders with her but never found a competitive list I was completely happy with.

Needs as Moonhound. A running Moonhound + Kaya popping SR animus makes the bird RAT10 and purebloods RAT7. Moonhound can also scrub Stealth for the bird.

Has anyone been using Kaya1 in SR 2017? I feel like the new terrain rules and line of sight blocking terrain should help her survive a little easier. Just looking for in game reports/experience rather than theory. I find theory craft often misses important in game differences. At least when I do it.

I've played about 5 games with this list recently: conflictchamber.com/#c8201b3Q4M5l4z4H4H5g5gfF5e5e5f5f2Ni7It's basically Mohsar's gunline + Kaya who shoots warpwolf bullets. It's pretty decent. I wouldn't drop it against a serious gunline or a list that out-threats it, but it attritions well (in a way that's unfun for your opponent) and has an assassination threat that's almost as good as Dan Yount's Mohsar list's. It's not great on scenario, but it doesn't auto-lose either. I tried it in secret masters with druids + ua, stone keeper, and wilder instead of sentry stones, and I did not like it. However, mist riders might work.
