I just returned from a deployment and moved to a new meta that has an active Skorne player so I finallly had the pleasure of going up against double derp turtles for the first time. 11 attacks (not counting impacts) for 17 points? How the hell is the siege crawler, let alone Rocinante more expensive than that thing?

You're counting a max roll on the D3+1 shots and he's spending all of his rage tokens on buying attacks instead of boosting. It's still a bit overtuned (in probably everyone's opinion), with being ARM 20 at 35 boxes, having the ability to Trample with Dual Attack as well as an auto-knockdown (boosted on the charge) POW 18, as well as base SPD 8, but there is counterplay, especially when you remember that it has no way of boosting its shots.

What is the counterplay? That seems a bit of a hand wavey conclusion on a post listing the ways it is powerful. Haven’t vsed them myself, but don’t have any obvious solutions to them

Haven’t vsed them myself, but don’t have any obvious solutions to them Blind and Stagger screw them like all battle engines. The potential for unjamming themselves is there, but limited. With RAT 5 and no ability to boost, high defense at range is tough for them, especially on small based models (they get Volume Fire on larger things). Same with high enough ARM as it caps at POW 15. Taking out the Extoller Soulwards allows for clouds or stealth to protect you. It has a lot of rules that counters counters and with proper support it can be very hard to take play around it, but eventually, if you give it enough targets to have to worry about, you can get something in and kill it.

Gamingdevil Blind is not that reliable, most likely they have the Extoller Poop Handler or a Moist Speaker to give out Guidance

I really hope you don't. It made reading through this thread surprising and fun.
But ya, skew in either direction (def or arm) seems to be the method.

Mercs have a lot of damage buffs and derp turtles are can’t really evade them.
Also, if skorne player really wants to max them the complete package is pretty expensive. 2 derp turtles, agoniser, krea, max beast handlers and extoller costs 51pts. That’s a lot for 8 P+S 18 melee and few double reiver attacks.

The siege animantrax is certainly the most overpowered model in this edition. Kinda interesting that it isn't a caster, but that's early CID with Skorne whinging for you. The counter to them is to tear apart the rest of their list as hard as you can, take their alpha with acceptable losses and retaliate with as much as you can. Jamming with things that don't die to their independent attacks (any light) and then overwhelming them with nomads is probably the best route.
It is utterly impossible to trade up vs a turtle under a good player. You can still trade up against the rest of the list though.

Thexus does pretty well against them, hex blasting away upkeeps and spinning them around with TK

They generally dont like large amounts of high def infantry. The whole funline doesn't. Especially if you take out the reivers, the list lacks enough attacks to clear them.

Thexus does pretty well against them, hex blasting away upkeeps and spinning them around with TK They can still Trample, shoot, buy up to 3 melee attacks. Hardly a satisfactory answer. Now, TKing them closer to kill them with things because Cephalyx is a little better.
