Doesn't look like it... there've been quite a few tests with the Gorgon and most are wondering: why wouldn't I just take another Griffon (if V2) or a Chimera? The Gorgon is STILL an over-glorified potholed speed bump with delusions of being a roadblock, 8pts or otherwise. I'd rather his gun had the Stranglehold effect. According to the Dev talks 1) Play a Gorgon and then explain why he didn't perform the job of his model. 2) Have sound reasoning for proposed changes. And lastly, make sure your proposed change isn't more than the job of the model. I strongly believe you above most can do this Germanicus. From previous posts you clarify your meaning and are understood quite well.

See if we can start a sensible spitballing session (no grossness) and avoid the salt/hyperbole/bile...

Fantastic, glad you are participating however you can. Has there been much conversation on the FA of Battlemages in Forges under Rahn?

U...* a gaggle of Gorgons can pretty much completely shut down some lists. Anyway, the Battle Mage thing has been quite divisive, some are *meh*, some don't really like it... some really don't like it... I squint at it. -_-

I was just thinking free mage units under Rahn's feat would be quite fun. Add in a couple Artificers for blast immunity and charge all the Jacks into your opponents face. That may prove a lot for your opponent to handle.

Thing is... I don't think anyone has reported on Rahn/HSBMs yet... huh... :/

Stranglehold effect on a boostable gun would be absolutely game breaking, I'm actually in awe that this can even be suggested with a straight face We discussed the Gorgon in our local meta and our coclusion is that it's problem is the relatively short range on the gun. So many targets you want to slow down can still with little support charge the gorgon and take it out, even with the spd debuff. Increasing the gun range to 12" would allow it to shoot and actually be safe from melee retaliation, but unless the target is immune to pushes, I don't see how you get more value from a gorgon compared to a harpy.

Give Gorgon fleet and mk2 gun.
Fleet makes makes it much more viable in melee, compensates for the low RNG of the gun and makes it difficult to spam. With pre-measuring, mk2 gun allows it to engage lead heavy without retaliation.

Give the gorgon reposition 3
E: Or make him a free model choice in the jack theme, so you can take them with Elara1 without sinking 1/4 of your army in it

Updates updated the update...
Summary of salient points: Gorgon's gun is SP8; Trident got Ram i/o Momentum and guns to RNG 10; Sentinels back to 11/18; HS Magister lost Force Barrier and got Vet Leader; Fane Knight Guardian added to ALL themes; Forges now it's 30pts of anything House Shyeel get a free solo; Defenders, E-mancers get Repo as well now; Legions, no +2 to DZ, instead Dawnguard models get +2 SPD first turn; MHSF got CRA; Hype down to 34.
Go!

Sad about the range reduction of Trident. I would have rather seen a rof change. Not sure what Ram ability does (can't access CID file).
Sentinel change was weird to begin with.
I like the SPD bonus for the theme. Especially with Ossyan running Destors and Invictors.
Still not understanding why the Shyeel/Forges changes to begin with. Really happy with Hype points though!

To match the Hyperion's Thresher Cannons, I'd've taken a POW reduction to 12 and reduce the Trident's SPD. Ram is just a KD and shove 1" in melee (https://warmachineuniversity.com/mw/index.php/Category:Ram). Yeah, reducing Sentinel's to 17 was weird, but I think that was deliberate to have them on the document in case they thought they might need further tweaking, 'cos they're getting quite ubiquitous, and some non-Ret players genuinely think they're OP. And the predictable complaints about how much board space they can take up really early happens, even though other themes (including ones Ret players have already exploited before) can do similar. My, how short the memories of some are... -_- Likewise... likewise.

I'm intrigued to try some double sentinel action. Some casters will really want to go first like Elara2 while a few casters make going second really interesting. Kaelyssa/Helynna double sentinels at the midline with Imperatus with bottom of one feat, Vyros2 might also be interesting with a bottom of one feat.
