It looks like we have a strong stable of casters for our 2018 ADR. Who are you going to run and what do your lists look like? Post them here!

Huh, there's a lot of spitballing of Issyria in Defenders it seems...
Out of interest, what do you expect to get out of the Houseguard Riflemen? They have neither shot quality or quantity to be worth it IMO...
For Issy, my inclination is to run a Nyss heavy list which does better at scenario... but then what do I know, 'cos like a pleb...:
I'd be boring and go Elara2/Rahn(V2 if I had any confidence) Defenders/Forges(Forges) Halb spam/Manticore spam(Griffon spam)... *shrug*

I went with Issy in DoI well.... because I own the stuff to run it. I don't have enough shyeel jacks to play the other theme list and don't have the any of the other casters on this rotation. My plan is to try and either get a strong alpha with all the guns or assassinate. With blinding light, hemera marking the target and feat hitting a caster with Eiryss and some guns shouldn't be too hard. SFA using Snipe shot and aiming would be RAT5+2+2+2 with an additional die drop one... even on a DEF 17 caster that's 6s to hit and enough should make contact to kill. If not the AFG is Rat7+2+2+2 POW16 weaponmaster, just the two shots from that might be enough if Eiryss lands a hit. I find Ellowyur make a nice speedbump( hopefully the reword on theme lets them advance move and maybe theyll get some love!)

Any love for Elara defenders? Or has she fallen out of favour?

I'm sure it would do fine. I bet she would also do well with a jack theme list with her field marshal.

The CID is coming soon and they should be advance Moving and shooting high value targets turn 1. Hopefully. True... I'm hoping the HGR get a tweak or two for themselves, too... we can hope (as you say). AM does help them out, definitely, if that particular change sticks, though given their base range, some think it'll be changed so only melee units get the AM. So we'll have to see how it shakes out. SFA getting the Houseguard tag is pretty darned interesting, though, as a bit of extra speed early game and anti-Stealth Brutals will make me consider them again, for sure. Now, please... RAT 6!

I've finally accepted that they're prolly not gonna bump their rat up. That's why i am basically transitioning my Ossyan list into a Issy list to increase their accuracy dramatically while only losing a little bit of punch on the feat. Like I said earlier... Blinding light+Mark target is +4 to hit... and you have a 17" threat on mark target and can put admonition on Hemera. If they try to screen with troops Hemera loves to trample since she only has one initial attack I almost always trample with her unless im trying to send her into a jack/beast. She much prefers to trample 2-3 troops and reposition into a good place to either mark a target, get in arc node range or back up to safety where she can admonition further away if needed.

Ok, so now that I've taken a minute to absorb some info and think about all 4 casters here are my thoughts. Rahn in Forges, because it's Rahn and he is just a Boss. Then trying Elara2 with halbs and some, hopefully, cheaper Phoenix(what would be plural for that?) Under her feat you would have a great assassination threat.
