Okay, I've been playing this list for about 5-6 games now. There are things I like about it and things I don't, and I was hoping to get some brainstorming on it.

The point of the list: Use the advance-moving, set defencing houseguard and Kaelyssa's feat to create breathing space for Eiryss, the hydras and Kaelyssa ignore LOS and scalpel out key models and keep their caster honest. The AFG is there as a range booster and a support piece (adding hate on a warbeast/warjack, throwing down difficult terrain to shore up a side, or knocking a target down for the stormfalls).
The things I like: the enemy can't run and can't hide from me, my guns do real work and the halberdiers buy them a lot of time (and do damage themselves if they can get a charge off, which they often can with their speed).
The things I don't like: only having one arcanist means I need to keep him very safe for a concentrate power, and if I have to allocate and cast phantom hunter twice, and upkeep refuge, I don't have a lot of focus left for Kaelyssa to do work. The feat and the halberdier's set defense and speed seem redundant. I often end up saving the feat for turn 3 or 4... which is kind of silly for an alpha strike feat, but with desperate pace and the amount of guns I have, I often can either get the alpha or just sit outside of charge range and fire away. I wish I could have a third Hydra, because dumping on an enemy heavy with just the hydras or hydras and AFG often leaves it with enough to be healed and sent in. But a third hydra would cost effectively 19 points since I would lose a free solo, and it wouldn't be worth that.
Thoughts: Is the idea of this list (sniping hydras) really best in Defenders? Would it be better in the dawnguard theme in order to let her use her feat on sentinals? You lose the AFG if you do that, so no knockdown gun and no 2" range booster. Would Vyros be a better choice for this concept? You don't have to spend focus for bird's eye, but you also don't get to ignore cover/concealment. I know a Banshee is popular with Kaelyssa, but it's an extra three points (would drop ghost sniper) and has a 3" shorter range (but do I need all that range really?). Since I find Kaelyssa and the halberdier's redundant, maybe a different melee unit (or maybe only replace one of them?), maybe consider that more if the theme benefits open up in the upcoming playtest?
