According to people on facebook at lock and load (so grain of salt), Pagani is saying pirate CID is off the schedule. Sad we don't get two CIDs or more pirate jacks. Steelheads were my first army so I'm still over the moon with this on the balance.

Stuff like Talion Charter really makes me question the devs competence, how on earth they thought that theme was acceptable just beggars belief quite honestly. I could fix it in 10 minutes without CID. Cut 'solos gain dodge' and add 'Warjacks gain gang fighter' Problem solved, why they don't just fix it? It is so infuriating!

Steelheads are confirmed as a full CID
"There was a 13 factions of Christmas planned, but it was too difficult for design and development. There will be smaller cid windows targeting 2-3 factions that can launch at conventions through the year. Everyone will still get models, just spaced out."

I've always loved Steelheads, but never had a good reason to paint them up all nice. When Stryker got released I got super excited and started finishing them up. This has me just about over the moon.

This is a major fumble. 13 factions of Christmas was the one time in the year you were guarenteed a model (except small/minor factions). It made for good marketting right when shopping is at its height.

It doesn't really solve the core problems with the theme--13/11 infantry gets swept off the table in droves, and the solos the infantry need to make them work are very easy to pick off.

7 barrels = 2-4 shots, great maths Steelheads You can only fire the top row, bottom row, or a single column. Also, it's random. (Did I mention that the elderly Ordic gentleman who designed the thing is insane?)

I'll be interested to see how the artillery ends up looking post launch. HAC is amazing and this will either need to be cheaper or better to justify taking it outside of Kingmakers.

The reason you miss out on some barrels is a fluff thing. With a real volley gun most of the shots are probably going to miss at anything but close range. So the ones you get to roll for are the lucky few that might hit.

Fire 3 one round and while those are reloading take a moment to fire 2 more at a target and so on.

I am so ok with all of this. Now I can actually use Moneyshot and Deadeye. Hopefully Nick's tough bubble is expanded or something. I'd love to use him again, and with gaining access to reveille, it'd make sense. My thoughts exactly, Dr Nick needs that extra something as he didn't really need to be hit with the nerf stick after mk2 as it is ideally he needs a bigger tough bubble or switching his arm buff to a def buff. Im overjoyed that they got an arcanist as I always felt the steelheads needed some kind of non character jack marshal that fit into there fluff of having lots of cheap jacks but not enough casters to go round. All im waiting for now is some kind of scouting unit maybe a two man unit that lobs anti stealth flares, that somehow synergises with the riflemen, since SH are all about cheap reliable that use combined arms to compete with other factions fancy tech.

Here are my unsolicited suggestions
Sergeant Nic, let his leadership affect all Steelheads, not just Halbs
Stannis, give him Weaponmaster and Rapid Strike, tactician is excellent, but his damage output is so poor for a 7 point model
