Kolgrima clouds help but it really is tough since the cryx list is built for scenario and attrition play. Slayers with mobility can just move 8 or trample 11 to get past the clouds. Spd 8, Def 13, Mat 7 and Arm 19/21 is crazy good for 10 points. 3 attacks gives a very good chance of clearing out infantry as well. I do agree that the game is meant to be played at 75 points. I just wish we had a 25 point list that is just as crazy.

A slayer that needs to trample to engage and attack you is a sad slayer. Your heavy should at least survive multiple trampling slayers.
And the you can kill them with relative ease

Wasn't it somewhere written, that theme forces are allowed at 50 or 60 points?

yeah. just run in the slayers and kill most if not all of the unit and take the retalliation in the face. my guess is the cryx player will come out on top. Maybe using kolgrima with clouds and play cat and mouse ? With Kolgrima I had a unit of champs with skaldi and stone killing three slayers and a chicken my last game. But I would prolly go for the borka 2 option.

So in a meta were arm 19 vs melee and arm 21 vs guns is a thing would slag trolls start to shine? I mean if you can take 4 and a mauler would that be workable options?

It could be workable but if you are talking about Slayers under Gaspy 3 then Slags will almost always be outthreatened by the Slayers.

I've been having a lot of luck with -
Power of Dhunia - 25pts -------------------- Ragnor
Dire Mauler Dire Mauler Axer Bouncer
Krielstone Bearers x4
(+5 Freebie Whelps)
---------------------
With one of the Maulers swinging at P+S 21, with all of it's Fury available for extra attacks, it easily outclasses whatever Heavies my opponent brings. The Bouncer and Axer generally have a go at any infantry around.
And thanks to the Whelps, I'm not worried about going full Alpha-Strike right out of the gate. Of course, Ragnor's Feat is an absolute nightmare for anyone to try and deal with at that points level too.

My favourite 25 pt list so far is
Band Of Heroes Madrak1 (29 wbp) -Bomber 19 -Axer 10 Min Stone 6 -UA 3 Max Champions 16 -Skaldi Free
Nice compact little list with a surprising amount of tech with grievous, hit fixers, anti-incorp with the stone, asks a pretty tough question at 25 points. No runebearer on madrak hurts, but generally you can make do with sniped rathrok or pulling from the stone when necessary as your bubble doesn't need to be big at all to cover everything. Champs under stone can put out some pretty serious damage to take out the enemy heavies, with the feat basically guaranteeing an alpha, then you tank through the enemy non-armour cracking stuff and grind out the rest of the game.

Recently played this just for fun:
POD ragnor Runebear 3x mauler Axer Whelps
Vs
IW Xekaar Gladiator Cannoneer Savage Shaman Agonizer Handlers Willbreaker
I lost miserably! Partly from my poor placement but also the lack of stone really hurt as well. But building a list at only 25 points is difficult. As a side note, i played under the impression i couldn't hex blast mortality off my units, is this correct? The card reads enemy upkeeps and animi iirc
