Hello, I recently aquired a small batch of Circle models, some Wolf Sworn. Now I know that their theme is not really concidered very good (Nothing but bones is tough).
I also know that there are some easy fixes to this theme. I don't think that much will happen in Tharn CID, but maybe we get lucky and the Sons of the Tempest treatment. Lowering the points for free models to 15 could happen, this theme has the combined arms feel and 20 are super akward. Maybe also allowing for more models that can be taken for free and letting War wolves count towards free cars (as fillers) would also be quick fixes. One day they could use the desing space and fill it with more combat solos and maybe Wolf Sowarn Cavalry - but this won't happen before another CID cycle.
But the theme is the way that it is right now and I want to use the models available without doubling too many options: How do you play this theme? What casters do you use? Do you have success? How do you build your army? I find it very hard to atually crack 3 free solos, do you just go for 2?

Tanith really likes the Wild hunt.
Affliction is just begging for double reeves, and scything touch is great on both war wolves and on WoO. It's pretty easy to get 3 bonus slots, although honestly if you only get 2 it's really a tragedy.
The only things i miss are sentry stones (like in all non-bones themes...) and Tanith could use a wilder to help with her mediocre FURY stat.

I had a lot of fun with Morv2 in Wild Hunt and wrote some reports on it. Bringing back Skinwalkers to get in the way is great. However, it relies on your go turn (when beasts hit beasts) to work, so dice. Without being able to trade up due to point cost or buff spells, it probably does not meet the competitive bar.
Morv2 Brennos Stalker Pureblood Reeves max +UA Skinwalkers max + UA Wolves max + UA Stones

well its pretty simple and it is 3 easy steps: 1: Build list 2: Go to shelf to grab models 3: Realize wolf sworn are bad and cry deeply. Just Kidding Kind of. Wild hunt is not an infantry theme IMO. (unless grayle is running it) It is a combined arms list of beasts and infantry. My best runs with have been Mohsar and Kromac1, with mostly beasts and some wolf sworn units for jamming/scenario to deliver the BG or trigger certain abilities. For Kromac 1: (Kromac 1) Kromac the Ravenous [+26] - Gorax Rager [7] - Warpwolf Stalker [19] - Warpwolf Stalker [19] - Wild Argus [7] - Woldwyrd [9] - Woldwyrd [9] Gremlin Swarm [3] Swamp Gobbers Bellows Crew [2] Warpborn Skinwalkers (max) [15] - Warpborn Skinwalker Alpha [0(4)] Wolves of Orboros (min) [7] - Wolves of Orboros Chieftain & Standard [4] Wolfs of orboros force opponent to box themselves in thanks to ambush, Skinwalkers Jam and contest. Grymlin swarm stalls scenario. BG plays a hit and run style game with warpath, Sprint, and terrain use. Its a pretty fun and dynamic list to play but struggles into enough match ups that I had to scrap it. (high arm, guns, etc.) My second List was this: (Mohsar 1) Mohsar the Desertwalker [+27] - Wild Argus [7] - Pureblood Warpwolf [17] - Pureblood Warpwolf [17] - Woldwyrd [9] - Woldwyrd [9] Gallows Grove [2] Gallows Grove [2] Swamp Gobber Chef [1] War Wolf [2] War Wolf [2] Reeves of Orboros (max) [16] - Reeve of Orboros Chieftain & Standard [0(4)] Shifting Stones [3] Wolves of Orboros (max) [11] - Wolves of Orboros Chieftain & Standard [4] This is an all out assassination build/gunline. Basically, wolves go in, you sands, bark, curse, spray, pureblood sprays, wyrds, and war wolf jank finishes the job. Its cute, but it only works on some casters and your opponent will be expecting it.

Swallow sadness Like a boss My wife was running Kaya 2 boomerang in Wild Hunt for a bit. But it really relies on a forest in good places on your side of the board. Charge through a solid forest, boomerang back, repeat next turn. Ambushing wolves on feat turn to jam was cute but they did not have the defenses to really jam anything effectively.

These are three lists I've played and enjoyed in wild hunt. Will they go toe to toe with the most broken stuff this game can throw at you? Probably not. Are they solid with good play for local events? Absolutely. Have fun conflictchamber.com/#c8201b_-0qg1ee4BgZ5lc95j5j5j4S5s4S5s4U4W___-0q5B4B5l4z5j5j5j5k4S5s5ocp4U4W4U4W___-0q5v4B5l5lfF5j5j5j4S5s4S5s5f4U4WCircle Army - 75 / 75 points [Theme] The Wild Hunt (Tanith 1) Tanith the Feral Song [+31] - Argus Moonhound [6] - Gorax Rager [7] - Loki [19] - Warpwolf Stalker [19] Gallows Grove [2] War Wolf [2] War Wolf [2] War Wolf [2] Reeves of Orboros (max) [16] - Reeve of Orboros Chieftain & Standard [0(4)] Reeves of Orboros (max) [16] - Reeve of Orboros Chieftain & Standard [0(4)] Wolves of Orboros (max) [11] - Wolves of Orboros Chieftain & Standard [4] Circle Army - 75 / 75 points [Theme] The Wild Hunt (Grayle 1) Grayle the Farstrider [+29] - Gorax Rager [7] - Warpwolf Stalker [19] - Wild Argus [7] War Wolf [2] War Wolf [2] War Wolf [2] Wolf Lord Morraig [8] Reeves of Orboros (max) [16] - Reeve of Orboros Chieftain & Standard [0(4)] Warpborn Skinwalkers (max) [15] - Warpborn Skinwalker Alpha [0(4)] Wolves of Orboros (max) [11] - Wolves of Orboros Chieftain & Standard [0(4)] Wolves of Orboros (max) [11] - Wolves of Orboros Chieftain & Standard [4] Circle Army - 75 / 75 points [Theme] The Wild Hunt (Wurmwood 1) Wurmwood, Tree of Fate [+27] - Gorax Rager [7] - Warpwolf Stalker [19] - Warpwolf Stalker [19] Swamp Gobber Chef [1] War Wolf [2] War Wolf [2] War Wolf [2] Reeves of Orboros (max) [16] - Reeve of Orboros Chieftain & Standard [0(4)] Reeves of Orboros (max) [16] - Reeve of Orboros Chieftain & Standard [0(4)] Shifting Stones [3] Wolves of Orboros (max) [11] - Wolves of Orboros Chieftain & Standard [4] Note: I really like war wolves ... that is all.

Honestly I wish Wolfsworn were in CiD instead of Tharn, but a list I have been having luck with is a pretty bad list in my personal opinion, but it somehow gets work done.

The other list I am going to be working with for fun, is a toolbox but I think it could work with a lot of practice.
War Room Army
Circle Orboros - Toolbox
Theme: The Wild Hunt 1 / 1 Free Cards 75 / 75 Army
Kromac, Champion of the Wurm - WB: +28 - Ghetorix - PC: 21 (Battlegroup Points Used: 21) - Warpwolf Stalker - PC: 19 (Battlegroup Points Used: 7) - Rip Horn Satyr - PC: 14 - Gorax Rager - PC: 7 - Woldwyrd - PC: 9

Serious answer: I've had a great deal of success with this list. conflictchamber.com/#c8201b_-0qcG4O5ljwc94k5jk84S5s5f5y5ocp4T4WCircle Army - 75 / 75 points [Theme] The Wild Hunt (Morvahna 2) Morvahna the Dawnshadow [+27] - Feral Warpwolf [18] - Warpwolf Stalker [19] - Wold Wight [5] Gallows Grove [2] Lanyssa Ryssyl, Nyss Sorceress [4] War Wolf [2] Lynus Wesselbaum & Edrea Lloryrr [5] Reeves of Orboros (max) [16] - Reeve of Orboros Chieftain & Standard [0(4)] Shifting Stones [3] - Stone Keeper [2] Warpborn Skinwalkers (max) [15] - Warpborn Skinwalker Alpha [0(4)] Wolves of Orboros (min) [7] - Wolves of Orboros Chieftain & Standard [4] It gets a lot of use out of Fog of War: Reeves ignore the concealment that it gives the enemy, while lanyssa, gallows grove, the stones unit, and the stalker have prowl to turn into stealth. Lynus makes your reeves CRA choose column which can really mess with warmachine armies, and edrea lets you get through clouds. Recursion, a large toolbox, and a good combination of melee/ranged threat makes it a decent choice into just about everything. ---- I used to run Brennos but he sucks such immense shit that I swapped him out for the feral. He badly needs a warlock that can babysit him (kaya3, Tanith) and Morv just doesn't do that.
