Tweaking this list is agony - I need to play 2 or 3 games a week, instead of only once every 2 weeks But as I don't have that option, hoping for a bit of a help
I'm not going to go through all the iterations that I have littered through warroom, but I think one of these two directions will suit me best as I have to draw a line here somewhere and get on with reps into different matchups.
Caster is Zaal1 in The Exalted
Option 1)
Agonizer
Shaman x3
Cannoneer
Soulward x2
Guardian x2 (one free)
Hakaar (free)
max Immortals + Advocate x2
min Beast Handlers
Has the usual difficulties vs stealth, but the combined arms should be strong here otherwise. Has a 'plan b' scenario game with the option of Repulsive Shamans. Pretty rough on the fury use when choosing to go big.
Option 2) is a little less defined
Krea
Shaman x2
Cannoneer
*5pt Solo* Guardian/Orin/Bokur/Longchops (or even Gremlins+Gobber Bellows)
Soulward x2
Guardian x2 (one free)
Hakaar (free)
max Immortals + Advocate x2
max Beast Handlers
Same vs stealth, unless I take Orin, then it's a bit better if it's for picking off solos. Otherwise drops the 'plan b' and melee durability for better resistance to ranged on the approach and ye olde paralyzing gaze that I've been sold on as a super useful thing. Has the option to pick up a 'trick' from an out-of-faction solo choice. Easy to use fury liberally with the high handler:beast ratio. While most turns can be boosted shooting turns, control via assassination threat seems reduced with 1 less Shaman.
So, without knowing the meta I'll play into - which do people think makes a better list to go into a pairing?
Off the top of my head, Option 1 I could take something specifically anti-shooting, like Zaadesh2 IWH bugs, and Option 2 I would take something specifically attrition focused, like Morghoul3 blind lockdown (either MoW or DoA.) Hell, I could probably swap those around too....
