If the rules stick, it'll be worth delivering Bastions. I'm not sure if double will be, but I think it'll be worth a try. Cinerators look worth my time now, but I have so many knights to paint that I'll have leave them be for a while. Same with the Indictor.
I'm disappointed in the Purifer and don't know what to make of Kreoss 2 as I never played him.
But overall, I'm content with this CID.

I picked a second unit of bastions out of a discount bin for $23. So now I will have 2 of bastions and cinerators. I guess we'll see how they come out? If the hiero stays in EI, I probably skip the warder. Not sure if Cyrenia really excites me that much. May skip her too. Probably grab a cinerator CA. Guess I buy at least a shrine. HoS seems like a good buy.
Overall, this cycle was pretty meh.

Old stuff getting buffed, the cycle was pretty good.
New stuff... not as excited.
I like Cyrenia and will buy her.
I already have two squads of both Bastions and Cinerators. Will probably pick up two Cinerator CAs.
The Shrine didn't excite me at all. Probably skipping unless it looks to become a competitive piece.
I'll definitely get Hand of Silence.
I'll also pick up a Warder.
So, five new models. Pretty low key CID if you ask me.

In fairness with regard to the Bastion/K2 aspect of this CID vs. New Stuff, I do think that a lot of the new stuff was actually pretty decent with their initial iteration. Not mind blowing, but then, that shouldn't be the goal. With the newer stuff being fairly decent to start, that did free up time for longer looks at the legacy stuff.
I agree though that K2 is still in a weird place at best. It does really feel as though they just don't know what to do with him. I'm not sold on bastions either. They'll do decently enough against a melee-centric list, but you'll likely end up in some serious list-chicken if you bring them because I just don't see them surviving even a moderate amount of range threat -- unless you bring other stuff that makes for an even juicier ranged target, at which point you might as well just bring more of the other stuff. I will certainly give Bastions a try, but I'm just not certain they'll be worth their points at the current cost (assuming no point reduction). Most likely, I'd rather have Cinnies or KE's. Cinnies for survivability and zone presence, KE's for cheaper and more models.
The church does seem a bit on the weak side to me, but who knows. If the model ends up being gorgeous I'll buy one anyway. It should at least be fun against infantry lists.
All in all I don't mind the relatively low new model count. The flip side to the argument is that if they introduced a lot of new models to help the older models, we'd complain that they are trying to sell new models in order to make old models relevant. I would much rather get fewer quality releases than more crummy releases.
As for Gravus, I agree it would be great if he could be free. However as somebody pointed out on FB, if we had never seen the CID process and only saw in the final rules update that Gravus went down a point and gained DP, we'd have all be really happy. Having DP go from being "free" to 8 points though did feel like a bit of a punch to the gut. I think in many EI lists, that DP is going to be near auto include and when you then add in the 4 points for a min choir, you are now left with just 3 points to spend if you want to max out your free points. That does seem to limit list building quite a bit.
All that said, I'm not disappointed with the CID. Would I like to have seen more? Of course, but at least it feels as though we have more legitimate options now.

he does. He affects list building structure but can help count toward a free solo.

I believe I said on the Facebook group that Hand of Silence could have a blank card and give a scenario point to your opponent when he died and I would still buy him. I seriously can't wait for his model. Or Cyrenia, my new lady Protectorate love (sorry Feora).

I am now in an awkward stage where I want to build EI lists... but it doesn't feel worthwhile until we see the changes go live (whatever they may be.) It feels like a waste of time to play the old stuff as I don't want to relearn them just before a change! (I have been sticking to mostly other themes and a little exploration into Minions as of late... I know I'll get the wrack for that.)

I might just get the theme box just for a second unit of cinerators and ua, and I do want the warder for k2. Do we know anything else about the box?
Most likely won't get the temple any time soon as well as I don't have any way to transport it.
