I'm tempted to get this simply because I wish there was a normal way to actually just build your own caster, and not for some silly event. I mean, premades are cool... but it's nothing like having something that you've made all your own. It'd be nice to have my own unique general running my army for once, instead of a character created by someone else. To bad it's only an event thing

Looks fun and I was thinking about getting it, went to drive thru rpg and saw they still don't have a europe friendly card printing solution so it would cost me 12e (deck) + 21e (shipping) + 7e (VAT) + 12-15e (mail company customs fee)... No way these cards are worth 50+ euros.
Wish PP would be a bit more friendly to their customers overseas (such as selling a pdf version as well).

Nice and fun idea. I also hoped to find a pdf version somewhere, but it seems that purchasing the physical deck in america is the only way to get it.

I am so unbelievably excited for this. This is the one thing that's been missing from the game for me.

Really should of put it on their own card database as an option. Great idea, lame delivery by not being available in pdf. Someone will eventually scan them anyhow.
As someone who ran Foodmachine a few years, I had worked on a caster draft for Foodmachine that was interesting in that there were multiple core caster types, instead of one starting Stat line, plus pre, mid and post game donation options to say transform sorta like Kromac 1 and a few other casters. It ended up that feat complexities grounded it. I had thought of just using some IKRPG feats as an alternative.
Imagine a sweet battle engine caster or a side-kick caster or a caster unit. Alas, another time Highlander.

Huh, now I want to create a homebrew "create-a-caster" system. It would need to use some sort of progression tree or spell group system for balance (for example you can only pick one speed buff, one damage buff etc). I'll need to think about this.
Is that something people would be interested in? I've wasted too much time on projects that don't see much use; I'd rather not spend more on something like this if it's not actually useful.

Each week you get to improve something about your caster, maybe. You might have to make it each week you play a game, to avoid people skipping weeks they are weak. My meta is too small, but it seems like it'd be a neat way to level the field between competitive and casual players.

My idea was a digital tool, most likely built on my custom card creator, that allows you to build a homebrew warcaster following a set of fixed rules. Something like KonflictChamber. How you use it would be up to you I guess, though that's something to discuss as well. Anyway, right now I'm thinking of something like this: first you pick a faction, that defines what spells and rules are available to you (so no Arcane Shield in Khador etc). You start with a basic warcaster with a simple handcannon, magic melee weapon, and a number of WJP (let's say 50; this could even be customizable so that users can agree amongst themselves how powerful they want their warcasters to be, but this of course requires players to be in agreement). Then you can pick from a set of rules and spells, each with a limit (e.g. one attack spell, one offensive buff, one defensive buff, one speed buff, one misc spell, two replacement weapons, let's say four special rules like Pathfinder or Tough, etc). Each advantage costs a certain number of WJP, so you can build a powerful caster but it will cost you more WJP. On average things should be balanced so a caster typically ends up with between 20 and 30 WJP left over. I'll need to think about how to handle feats, but I figure something like the description of Caster Draft makes sense: offer a selection of feats that are generally not very powerful, so they can't really become massively unbalanced when stacked with a custom set of spells.

Well, I got all excited by the idea and went ahead and started. I was hoping from some help though, as I only really know Khador well enough to start listing faction-appropriate upgrades for. So it would be really helpful if people could list spells that they they think would fit the format, by faction and type. For example: Khador: Speed Buffs: -Boundless Charge -Assail -Redline -Superiority Damage Buffs: -Fury -Silence of Death
... etc. Basic types I'm thinking right now are: speed buff, damage buff, accuracy buff, defensive buff, attack spell, control spell, misc.
BTW should we continue this here or open a new thread? If the answer is "new thread", then in which forum? General discussion, rules... ?

I would absolutely be interested in this, and would love to throw my hat in to help you design it. I have quite a bit of game design experience under my belt.
