Szenarioplay these days often comes down to cram as many arm20someting, tough, multiwound dudes as your list can take into zones, i dont see what vayl2 is supposed to do there. ...Not all enemy lists are filled with those kind of models?

Or make a szenario list that can't handle most relevant szenario lists and hope for the best i guess.

It doesn't need to be able to handle other scenario lists, it just needs to be able to handle lists, and with spells like admonition, boundless charge and icy grip, the hellmouth and arc nodes all over you can have scenario presence. Your pared list can deal with the things this one can't. We have plenty of options that can deal with armour and heavy infantry when this type of scenario game is not an option.

I want things to be that simple. To me (YRMV) that seems to be the case a lot of the time. Even where spell hate does not exist, the heavy infantry list does. For example Maelok, Troll champions, MoW, etc...
So the the hot lists are more saturated then I would like. Scenario play is always an option. But whether you want to make it more of an uphill battle with Vayl or just a slug fest with Anamag, is personal preference.

Yah but we have a strong drop into those lists with thagrosh 1. I make good use of him with two max units of warspears and ca. His ability to hot swap a damage buff while passivly reducing enemy damage is powerful. (I dont use the garg as i prefer 3 heavys and a nightlurker) Pow 17 blessed weapons can really work over the heavy infantry you mentioned. If not try running twins or leverage rhyas 1 with high speed units and lock the opponents out of scenerio with just boddy spam.

So quick, simple, realization.
When the guys told me that spell hate was enough to make Vayl 2 not a viable choice. I was skeptical.
Last night I was trying to drop her again to learn more... Trolls dropped Bearka in Storm of the North. THAT theme being popular is enough for me to say Vayl is not a good option. At least not in a build using BFS, Ice witches, and throne.
Everything in that theme is cold immune. Bearka hands it out to his BG. It was just a terrible choice.
Now, I did notice that and dropped a different list. But man that is rough to see. I may have to completely rethink the list.
