pretty silly things are mostly what i post here sir! Yes, I know, but you usually stop short of actually being rude, at least from what I've seen. You know, you could always drop the act for just one post and say "you know what, retrospect that was a little much, sorry about that", or I suppose you could manage something shoe-ish to the same effect if you really can't bring yourself to break character.

i am sorry making a bit of fun of those guys made you mad Sigh. I wasn't mad. I saw you had said something that could have caused offense - probably inadvertently - to another forumite, so I pointed it out to you so you would have the opportunity to rectify it. I wasn't trying to offend or insult you. I just assumed you would want the chance to avoid offending your fellow posters, because that's what a decent human being would want, and I believed there was a decent human being who I could communicate with under that trollish facade. Seems I was wrong.

You kinda put up with him just because the rest tastes so good, and try to just ignore his trolling, unhelpful comments. Occasionally and rarely he actually give helpful advice, but yeah to anyone dealing with him, he's kinda just a pain.

eh mebbe but assembling it with the tailgate open is about as much a conversion as rotating the turret to one side and going LOOK I DID A CONVERSION!!. now that other one in teh picture actually is quite a conversion To be fair, his conversion does put a working hinge on the door. Not just glue it open.

I'm not offended. lol I actually ended up magnetizing a cinematic turret to point in any direction, added a magnetized dwarf lying and shooting out of the rear hatch, added a dwarf exiting the side door, etc. And the one next to it is nearly scratch built from a Gun Carriage. That's about as converted as I get. privateerpressforums.com/showthread.php?17699-March-of-the-Rhulfolk&p=3770768&viewfull=1#post3770768Plus, the thread's about playing well with an Earthbreaker. I just thought I'd reply to fallenexile's post. Thanks for the defense, though, Soul Samurai.

And the one next to it is nearly scratch built from a Gun Carriage. Yes, I remembered that one. It's very impressive, which is part of why I reacted the way I did. And I'm glad you posted the photos; I honestly feel like the hobby side of this game is under-represented on these forums.

Eathotlead: awesome job. There is not a minimum amount of changes for a conversion. You assembled the model in a way that was different than the prescriptive way shown in the box and you added unique elements to make the model more unique/interesting. It fits and is pulled off really well. I dig it.
Soul Samurai: As usual I appreciate your perspective and your way of putting things. All the thumbs up.
shoe: You have a lot of good insight (your posts in the CID forum show that you have a strong perspective and are able to back it up with experience) that we truly could use on these boards. Like Soul said, generally you stop short of being openly rude and so the persona is accepted/tolerated, but it just seems like such a huge waste when things like this come up.
Earthbreaker: Git gud.
There, I think I'm caught up.

nah. when u give advice and other people chime in with bad/wrong advice then u have to explain how they are wrong and nobody likes that so i will continue to screw around and people can follow whatever advice they choose! You've given lots of good advice; I know, I've used some of it. Other people have also given good advice; some of it you didn't agree with. It all comes down to people playing differently, in different metas, with different goals, and for different reasons. Your advice may be 100% correct for the models you have in the meta you play in to win the tournaments you play at. There's lots of value in that. There is also a lot of value in the person who only plays Talion explaining how most effectively to use Bloody Bradigan. Or someone talking about the relative merits of the TGM in a Rhulic centric army. You might consider it bad, someone else might not, and both could be right. People are going to choose what to do on their own regardless of how many opinions we have on the boards. Ultimately, we come to these boards to discuss thoughts, strategies, and just generally interact with people who have similar interests. If people decide not to go with advice you have given, regardless how good (e.g. I will always be a low tier scrub because I just can't use Ragman and always exclude him in list building), it still brings another perspective to the board that may help someone else. Those people here who don't see your CID posts miss out on the perspective you bring, and that's unfortunate.

Shoe is what we would refer to here in the UK as a 'Professional Gob-Sh*te' They crave the oxygen of publicity, the best thing to do is to just ignore their existence.

36cygnar24guy36; I think that's going too far. Look, I should have contacted shoe privately instead of calling him out here. After that I'm the one who made it personal, but shoe did not respond in kind. Plus I'm the one who derailed the thread. This has all gone too far and it's my fault. I'd really appreciate it if we can all just drop this whole thing and get back to the Earthbreaker? Since the only Merc caster I've had a chance to play was MACBAIN!!!!!, how well does he run the Earthbreaker?
