Love Kraye. He's my boy but he was overshadowed for the longest.
I've come back to playing Swans and I've been practicing GD H3/B1/B2 and I just got my pieces (finally) for N3. But the Kraye Centurion list looks interesting. GD reinforced my need to handle high armor (like Grymkin). So now I'm debating 5x5 or Kraye Cents for the job and I don't understand how you're supposed to actually play the lists.
I figure Kraye depends on heavy use of the centurions no charge but reading the other thread I didn't quite understand the activations.
5x5 seems like Hunters hunt the jacks while minutemen harass everything but specifically infantry.
But I'm not understanding the mechanics.
Can someone do so? Or at least point me towards some videos so I can see it?
It also doesn't help that both involve a bit of investment with my current line-up with pieces that I've only seen used lightly in Mk3.

There's not many videos out there of Sloan because she hasn't showed up at any tournaments and done well. Sloan and Canine3 gunlines that used to be popular are really terrible at scenario so they just can't be relied on. These lists are only going to get worse in SR2018. You can get a lot of work done on one or two turns, but after that, your contesting pieces explode and you slowly lose. I've seen a few with Kraye, but none of him winning, and none with Centurion spam.
Kraye does heavily rely on the Centurions for output. You put up Polarity Field every turn until you're engaged, and even then you need to keep it up when dealing with stuff like heavy infantry or anything with reach so they can't charge while still engaged. I still struggle with him because the volume of attacks he puts out is very small, so once you commit on feat turn, you better know what you're able to kill and how you want to piece trade, because it can be really dicey. Sustained attack is nice, but having to commit focus to them is really brutal, even with the free charge.
The mechanics are usually there simply to score zones. I have had maybe one or two games where a bunch of repairs came up, but normally they are so far back, they can't repair anyway, and I need them for scoring and contesting more than repairing.
The thing I liked to do to keep his focus burden down was only keep Heavies in Kraye's battlegroup and then Junior and/or Trencher Warcaster Lieurtenant with some Chargers and a Sentinel for shieldguard. That way Kraye can put his focus on his heavies.

I think kraye with 3/4 centurions in SoTT to have dudes back in the zones shooting down any kind of infantry is solid, even in scenario play. Sloan 5x5 will not work in scenario or is at least very corner case.

Minutemen still have AD+2 inch from HM+ Run puts you at 20 inches up the table and about 11 inches from their deployment zone. I have not played the list but it seems like it has a lot of options.

Options yeah for sure, but they die to a stiff breeze. It's a reaòòy risky list on scenario

You have to pressure your opponent out of zones, but anything you leave in their threat ranges is going to be decimated, especially lights if they have boosts or CRA/CMA's. The list certainly has options, but all of them are major risks. It might be easy to keep one of your Centurions alive that's in a key position, but contesting Minutemen or something like that don't take a whole lot of effort to remove if they have accuracy or lucky dice.
